American River Raft Rentals reviews
12This was an awesome place. Rented a raft for a decent price. Weather was great and the water was cool. Celebrated a birthday on the River and built great memories. Bring a cooler and some food. Plenty of spots to pull over and chill. There's also a nice place to stop and jump into the water. Look for it on the left. There are plenty of spots on the River where it slows down and it's good to jump in for a dip. Highly recommend!
This was a super fun and affordable experience. The boats are huge, durable and safe. There were 8 of us and we had water, snacks and coolers.
Jumping in the river was fun, too. Lots of water (I was afraid the water level would be low). Such a fun summer-day trip!
They charge for everything: for carrying raft to river front from rental lot, for parking at rental lot, for shuttle back to rental lot for river end point.
My party was not individually fitted for life jacket, all our life-jackets were the same size, not fitting my smaller children correctly, and there was not safety check or instructions before we left.
No one was at the end point pick up location, and there was no visual marker to signify were the exact location of the pickup point. After pulling our raft out the water by the designated end point, we called the company to come waiting more than 35 mins for someone to arrive and when they did the charged my mom another $30 because we had accidentally missed out unlabled end point.
It would be one thing if they recognized any level of fault but instead staff responded with our confusion and frustration with irritation.
Clearly just about making money. Trash costumer service (staff feels like a bunch of HS friends on summer break, not a professional team ensuring safety standards are met.
We had a large group of youth from our church rent from American River Raft Rentals to float the river as an activity. My daughter is physically handicap and can't walk so I wasn't sure if she would be able to get to go. I called the company up and they were great, they explained the terrain getting down to the river and at the ending location for getting out. They even provided a vehicle at the end to get her from the water's edge to the parking lot where I was waiting with her mobility device. They really do their best to try to help everyone enjoy the experience! I would rent with them again!
Actually really FUN and organized / DESPITE the river being rather calm and all / i didnt expect much up until we had serious water gun fights with other rafting boats if u wanna have real fun / you better get the water cannons pumpped up and ready!
You can literally row the rented boat or your own boat anywhere, relax, or sneak up attack any ongoing boat fights. You can even dock your boat on the side and eat your lunch or swim in the small areas.
I wasnt able to take a photo of any fights since i didnt prerp myself with water proof phone bags / but regardless exciting / i was with my family but also partner with another group so honestly thats what makes it fun to socialize with other group while water shooting.
Rented rafts and had a blast. The return shuttle took a while but we just waited by the waters edge. Nice outing for friends, family, and kids.you gotta try it.itsme itsme
I come here at least once or twice a year, and I have noticed a increase in rental prices. However, on this particular visit, our large group needed an additional raft, so we rented a 4-person raft for $100 around 12pm. We tied up with the rest of the group and began our river adventure.
During our trip, we decided to take a break for lunch and some swimming. However, our enjoyable moment was interrupted when a kayak employee approached us, claiming to work for ARRR. He identified himself as the pace person and insisted that everyone needed to be in front of him, urging us to start heading down the river immediately. We said ok but let us finish our lunch.
Unfortunately, this employee displayed rude behavior by sitting at the edge of the river, approximately 10 feet away, and staring at us. He even made phone calls to ARRR and took pictures. Feeling angry, I had to firmly tell him to go away and not treat us like children.
Despite this unpleasant encounter, we managed to reach the return area with 40 minutes to spare, even passing other rental groups along the way. I want to express my frustration with the ARRR kayak employee for rushing my birthday celebration that took place on 07/09/23.
I've been coming here almost every year since I was a child. I introduce new friends to this experience who might otherwise be afraid to go or not have the knowledge that it was even available. Everyone I've taken has an absolute blast and can't wait until the next trip. The employees are extremely helpful and make sure your trip is a blast.
Bring sunscreen, a cooler with some lunch, a hat, and leave the booze at home. It's just too dangerous. You'll be pretty sore when you get home anyways and a pitcher of margaritas will be just the thing you need.
Taking two stars off. The prices have been going up and up to the point where it's cheaper to buy tubes/rafts at Big 5 or WM and park another car at the end or Uber. ARRR charges $10 for shuttle service per person now (used to be $5) and the rafts have almost doubled in price in recent years. We floated recently but just bought tubes for the rest of the summer. It's about $130 out the door for the smallest raft (4 person) with 2 shuttle tickets.
And that's not including their $10 cash only parking lot fee on weekends/ holidays. And hey, if you're going to charge more, do some upkeep on your equipment! The rafts/vests/paddles are getting a bit old and dirty in my opinion at this price point also. Offer a deal on Groupon and maybe we will come back. Sorry ARRR.
Great place to chill with friends and family of all ages. Am. River Raft Rentals employees are all awesome just don’t be the last raft on The river you might be greeted by a fella in a kayak who is not so friendly. Over all five stars.bring food extra tubes/floats and water guns/water sprayer. You don’t wanna get caught in a water fight with other rafts and not be ready lol.
Family had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Staff were very professional and made our lives easy with the kids. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun family experience!
Great experience. It was well organized and the process went smoothly. It was our first time renting a raft and we will definitely be back.
They should open June 3rd! The gentleman who answered the phone was very nice and informative!
