Was awesome, needed a gas fireplace for my sister he had a regency, paid on Tuesday installed on Thursday was really good to deal with i will use him again, he had his and his son was really nice learning a trade

I am 82 years old. I have had wood and pellet stoves since 1968. I have had many chimney sweeps but the owner of American Stove Works is the absolute worst! He had to be called back to finish the job and was a big jerk. His son was respectful and helpful. I give him a zero and shall never call him again.

Very unprofessional ordered a part that didn't fix the problem then sold us a stove with no remote and told us that we don't need it due to someone will problebly just loos it. Then it took 2 months of calling him never returned calls then sed we where lieyers and never called him then tried to get in a fight with me witch he is about 4 ft tall so you feel bad if you where to get in one with him I can't see how he is still in bissnes he just a horrible human

Just got robbed of 170 bucks, needed my gas fireplace cleaned because it's old and not working properly. Guys came in vacuumed some surface soot and told me my vent wasn't correct. Then expected me to pay 170 dollars for that.didn't clean the unit, didn't even try honestly and then got lippy when I asked what he was going to invoice me for exactly.worst experience by far

I needed a wood stove at beginning of covid and this was only place I could find. Had a bad feeling about Bob, the owner, from the start but I was desperate for heat. Dealing with him was a nightmare. It took at least 10 visits to get stove installed and he was rude & hateful everything. He refused to close front door behind himself, and he knew I didn't want my pets getting out. When his son started to lay a tarp on floor cause muddy out, Bob said, "Dont bother. " The sons did most of the work and were very polite & professional but Bob was obnoxious. Terrible, terrible experience.

I needed some new firebox liner pieces. I went down to the store. Open sign in the window and glowing open sign on. Door locked nobody in there. I called them, and the guy said he'd call back and get the parts ordered. Never called back. 2 weeks later I ordered the parts myself online. Trying to support local businesses but they don't want it.

I have bought 2 stoves from Bob, and get yearly chimney cleaning for over 10 years. I highly recommend American Stove Works. He has a great selection and has reliable, good service.

To deal with someone (Bob) who is both incompetent and disfunctional is an unusual experience. When you add to that his strange desire to cause unnecessary problems, you have the makings of a truly unpleasant experience. Maybe it isn’t Bob’s fault, possibly at some point he jumped down from bed and landed on his head. But do not under any circumstances deal with him. If you are considering it, go bang your head against a brick wall for ten minutes. The feeling will be the same. And the brick wall won’t charge you.
