American Swim Academy reviews
11My mom really wanted her grandchildren to learn how to swim as she would take them to the lake every summer. 3 of my kids were signed up and paid with lessons, and my mom took my one of the children about 2 times before she unexpectedly passed away on the day of one of their lessons. My 2 other children never got to start their lessons didn't want to swim anymore as that was something they'd planned to do with their grandma. They haven't been swimming since. American Swim Academy was stern on "no refunds" or even returning the remainder of the money for the rest of the lessons paid. The very least they could do is provide free swim lessons to a family in need with the money they made for doing nothing. It wasn't cheap
Hit or miss here, some instructors are great and some are god awful.
Try and trial them out before you commit to a season and you'll do ok
Swim instructors are great and train the kids well but the front desk and their policy will not even worth a single star! Very poor make up policies and rude corporate mind set front desk!
I personally went through the original Fremont Swim School opened by the first generation of the current owners. My kids then went through the same training techniques and are fantastic swimmers now. I would highly recommend American Swim Academy either at this location or any of the other locations.
Good teaching, obvious ploys to get additional semester sign ups. My son had taken the test with a couple minor things to fix. They made him wait to the final day of the semester, to retest. We received a call several days before asking why he wasn't signed up for the next semester. It was because we were told for an entire semester that his strokes were perfect. Day of test he fails because his "arms are not fast enough on backstroke" even though he easily did four laps-then cones the hard sell to sign up for another semester. My son was in tears and refuses to ever go back. GREEDY place.
The teachers are pretty good. The pool is tiny and the changing rooms are as well. If you can do the day classes, the pricing is pretty reasonable.
Very poor reception at Livermore Office, You call 100 times You will hear only Auto Voice "Your call is First in line now, Some one will be with you shortly. Thank you for your Patience, " I hate this Auto voice. F**
My son has been going here for a few years now. They are great for teaching little kids about swimming and water safety.
Great place for my son for swimming. He never ever exposed to swimming earlier and Swimming instrucator making sure that he get the best available training and get him comfortable with water.
Provides solid foundation on swimming techniques and strokes. Also, one of the few places that takes special needs children and provides a one-on-one adaptive training program in place of their traditional program. Highly recommend.
Great instructors. Changing rooms are small but doable. Pool can get crowded during weekend classes.
