It was really expensive for the room we needed but the dining car was awesome! Delicious food! It would be a total shame if they did away with the hand made meals in lieu of microwaved dishes. Losing the dining car would be a crime!

Another alternative to driving alone let someone else do the driving for you no traffic jams whatsoever

I ride Amtrak back and forth, Chico to and from San Jose. Takes twice as long as driving, but I don't have to deal with traffic
