So incredibly grateful for Dr Barnes & his staff! Nothing bad ever happens with the pets during the week, it’s always on the weekend! Our vet was closed, as well as several other area vets.
Dr. Barnes not only had a brilliant, caring & professional staff member intaking my call; they were able to meet us & accurately diagnose my sweet baby dogs’ issue, we were treated, given medication & they had a highly recommended high-fiber dog food that was suggested. We went from worried & having no vet available, to being seen, diagnosed & cared for within a short time. He is the best! Dr. Barnes thank you
(he is a true animal lover)

So I brought my puppy here for his first set of shots and all his first year care, each visit I told them he was so uncomfortable. Non stop itching and licking. They did nothing. Months and months, finally he had a yeast infection I call to ask how I can treat him at home. They insist I needed an apt. Mind you I got the puppy package and was told that covered the first year of visits. That’s lie folks. So I get there she’s like $350 a month for treatment and 80 for the visit. I told her I didn’t have that kind of money, her reply was well you picked and expensive dog. Mind you it was a dead family member’s animal. Not one I went and paid a
Lot for. But that means the expensive treatment. I’m in tears mind you. She said fine I have some cortisone you can have for $12 bucks. The ladies come back with the $150 cortisone. When I was just offered one for $12. Finally get out of there. Take him to a natural pet store they we’re so helpful. It was as simple as adding probiotics to his diet and limiting the ingredients. Took all this time and suffering and I finally get some good answers. He’s been on the new food for a
Month and is thriving. NO MORE ITCHING,
No Moore yeast. Now a
Vet
Should ask what you are
Feeding your animal. Cause the food has
Potato that created the yeast. A vet knows this people. They want your money. They don’t care about your animals

Ron and Hailey are amazing vets! It’s clear they both love all animals. Caring and loving! They are not here to rip you off! They are very fair!

We have been taking our animals to Angeles Animal Hospital for almost all the 29 years they have been open. Always had compassionate and exceptional service. This morning I called at 7: 30 am with a senior dog needing euthanasia. This is an emotional decision to have to make. I was told by the front desk it would be two-three weeks before I could get an appointment.

Really? I have a dying dog at my feet. I was then told I could call back at 9: 30 and maybe the doctor could see her but there would be an additional fee of $146.00 on top of the normal fee. I don’t care about the money. I feel I should have been told “the doctor will be in at 9: 30, let me see what I can do”.

Zero Compassion for a dying dog and emotional owner. I’m floored. Fortunately, another Veterinarian was able to get us in, handled the situation professionally and with compassion.

They did good by us. It was hard to say goodbye to our girl, but the staff made the situation more comfortable for us and her. True professionals and recommend.

I drive an hour each way to bring my cats here. I feel like the doctors and staff take the time to hear my concerns and explain things to me. I never feel rushed or dismissed. They treat us like family. I also like that they're okay with taking a more conservative approach to treatment. I've never feel pressured to do unnecessary tests or extreme treatments.

5/6/23 Here's a update to my previous post. On Saturday morning I called when they opened asking if I could bring my Gunner in. I was asked what was wrong and I advised them He had a Grand Mal Seizure, wasn't eating or drinking and he was extremely lethargic. I told them he was dying! And I guess that wasn't enough for them. I have in the past when contacted rescheduled my appointments in the past because of emergencies coming in. Dr. Barnes has been his vet for 16 years (since he was a puppy) and was told take him to Thousand Oaks and they couldn't see him for 2 weeks. Well, Dr. Barnes and Dr. Hailey, I hope your happy, thanks for not caring and fitting him in to be examined by his doctors. I have had your facility be the primary providers for my 3 dog. Just So You Gunner Died 5/7/23 without his primary doctors seeing him and yes I am grieving horribly and realizing the compassion and empathy is not in your office and there is no loyalty to long time owners and repeat owners. You Be Ashamed. You betrayed him and us. My family has been loyal to you all these years and when My Gunner needed you the most you turned your back on Him and us and now he's dead. I hope you both are happy and satisfied with yourselves.
Previous Post. (Not Any More)
The best vet.hospital and staff. I have been bringing my my dogs here for over 20 years. Dr. Barnes and his daughter are the best vets in Ventura County. Dr. Werner is wonderful also. I have to I think my dog has a little crush on Dr. Haley. The office is always clean and the staff is very knowledgeable and help pet parents to stay calm. Thank you Angeles Hospital for everything you have have done for my Fur Babies.

Called Dr Ron Barns as we're having issues with my 9 y/o pug that needed dental cleaning. His office is far from where we live but thats not going to be an issue with us. We lost a pug before that asphyxiated during recovery from dental work at another vets office & bcos of that incident, we're cautious and so are the other vets that have seen her. ``Just keep brushing her teeth every night" they said.
Then 1 day we noticed that she's licking her lips constantly and trying to run away when it's time to brush her teeth and trying to rub her face. Sadie enjoys her greenies at night and will chew her better belly rawhide at daytime. When she did not want to do that, for sure it is time to visit her doctor.
I researched and luckily, Dr Barns is a phone call away and he's also the husband of a good friend at work and I explained to him Sadie's problems.
He guaranteed that he will take care of Sadie. He is experienced in performing dental work on brachycephalic dogs. He made this Mom feel reassured and he did it and our Sadie lost 4 incissors but she did great.
The procedure took 3 hours including exams and blood works. In fact, Dr Barns approached me in my car cos he knows that I'm waiting for Sadie and that I was worried. He said, ``all done and she's awake and you can take her home". I was talking to my husband that time on the phone. I was overjoyed with the news that I hanged up the phone on him but he also heard what the outcome was and he understood why I didn't say bye.
Sadie was walking around ad trying to run to the door while I'm settling her bills. She walked out of the office wide awake and that made me very happy cos she didn't look groggy.
I am GRATEFUL to Dr Ron Barns and Shelby and the other girls at the office for understanding why this pugs Mom is worried.
Now I'm telling my neighbors to bring their pets at Angeles animal hospital. Yes it is
a drive but who would not do that drive for a member of their family. 100% I would.

Over the past 3 decades I have taken my dogs to several different veterinary clinics in Simi Valley (at least 6), and while most are very good with caring doctors, my favorite is Angeles Animal Hospital. Not only do they take very good care of my pets, but the doctors, (Ronald and Haley Barnes) are sincere, knowledgeable, and invested in the health of my babies. The staff is professional, helpful, and treat the animals like their own. Some of the other clinics are so busy, you get a different vet every time you go, and others seem more focused on the charges than the care. I'll keep coming here!

We have been taking our 4 dogs to Angeles Animal Hospital having moved from another Veterinary hospital nearby because it became a business. Doctors Barnes and their staff are old school with contemporary skills. They are Veterinarians providing care and service. I have had dogs my entire life in 8 states and can say without reservation this Animal Hospital and the doctors and staff are among the finest.
