Such a marvelous experience. Dr. Shields is so caring and really wants you to have what you need to be at your best regarding the health and use of your eyes. Highly recommend. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. In fact, the entire team working there is phenomenal and wants you to have a great experience from the welcome to the "see you next time. Antelope Valley Optometric Center has friendly and helpful service at the front desk. They know you by name and treat each patient as if they are the only one there for an appointment. Dr. Clark is very thorough and knowledgeable. He takes his time and explains everything in detail. The assistants helping you pick out glasses tell you up front the price ranges and they will tell you what’s stylish and if asked what they think fits you the best. It’s always good to have a second opinion. The center is very clean and the displays of glasses are laid out well.

My wife & I have been going there for many years and love the place but your policies on masks are wrong and unconstitutional. Mostly all the businesses are mask free, except the hospitals. Why you mandatoryily require all to mask up needs to be addressed. All this is with Covid is so hyped up and all it is is a flu. More people have died from the flu than Covid.

Dr. Shields was very caring and took the time to fully understand my issues. She explained what was going on with my eyes in a friendly and professional manner. Her information was clear and I left knowing my needs and what to do without question. Lacey was so kind and helpful in assisting me with finding the best frames for my face. Wonderful experience!

First visit to ACOV as our previous provider no longer accepted our insurance. Pleasantly surprised, greeted as we walked in and immediately checked us in (had appointment) and we had a seat. Natalie explained our appointment and the process and asked some questions about what we needed (eye exam & new glasses). She took care to answer all the questions we had and within minutes our exams began. Impressed with the speed of service and the modern equipment used to check our eyes, once all of this was done we waited for a few minutes to see the doctor and have eyes examined for new prescriptions and any medical problems. Every step was explained in detail and questions answered, very comprehensive exam and we were treated as valued patients throughout the entire process. Once the exam was complete Natalie guided us through selecting frames and lenses for our new eyeglasses, making everything clear, and then explaining, completely, what our insurance covered and what the cost would be plus all the options we have. And, Dr. Shields explained the conditions of our eyes and made recommendations for what we should do at home to protect our eyes and even gave my wife some samples of things she can use for dry eyes, etc, that are available at local drug stores and which products are best. Now we wait for our new eyeglasses and then have them fitted once they arrive.

Very personable. Takes the time to fully explain things to the patient, which is rare in the medial community these days. You can tell Dr. Petersen loves his work and helping others have a clear vision!

Made appointments for myself, my wife and 2 kids. We were able to all be seen at the same time and made everything so convenient. Can’t thank them enough for how easy they made everything and they had such a variety of glasses to pick from for everyone.

Dr. Clark is excellent! He is always so thorough in his examinations, and he makes a point to explain any concerns he has and to follow up on them with me every visit. The staff and opticians are all very courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Dr. Shields is wonderful. Not only does she do all the usual eye tests, but she takes time to explain what she is finding and what everything means. She also really listens to patient's concerns and tries to find solutions.

Dr. Shields is always so patient and kind with my 88 year-old mother. She puts her right at ease. The doctor is proactive in her treatment, but does not push unnecessary tests or treatments. The office and support staff is lovely, as well! Definitely would recommend this facility to others.

Great place, Dr Shields is very thorough and explains as she goes along, gives recommendations and the pros and cons, the support staff are helpful and they have a good selection of frames to choose from

Excellent customer service from everyone I interacted with. The lady who did my initial testing was fantastic. I can't recall her name, but she had recently moved up here. She was professional and engaging. Make sure you keep her happy she's an asset to your team for sure!
I greatly appreciated Dr. Peterson's open and honest dialog. It absolutely helped me make a better decision about what options to go with and not spend additional and unnecessary money. Definitely recommend.

Very professional and friendly. I had an abrasion on my cornea and he was very quick to get to work and knew just how to help me heal. Not even 2 days later and my vision is almost 100%. I can’t say thank you enough and I highly recommend his services to all seeking eye care! My situation was an emergency but I am scheduled to return for regular checkups now that I found a great family eye doctor in the neighborhood I can trust!

AV Opt is the best Optometric Office in the AV. I was concerned when Dr Jerry Martin retired but Dr Clark has proven as capable. I am thrilled he is. With my eyes, i need a true professional and he is one. The staff that runs the office continues to be high performers. I love that I have a great office to go to for my eyes.

Optometrists in Ridgecrest, (6 mos wait for an eye exam!? !? !?) I searched online and chose this office from the reviews. I am so happy I did. It’s completely worth the 1.5 hr drive to see Dr. Shields, and I will now be be using them for all of my family’s vision needs.

I love this place so much. The office is so clean and inviting. The staff are super friendly and so helpful always. Dr Clark is amazing. He is always exceptionally thorough. He is so nice and truly cares about his patients. I recommend to everyone I know!

My family has been going here for over 17 years. The staff and doctors are wonderful. Making an appointment is easy and you can usually get in pretty quickly. Large assortment of glasses to choose from. Very clean office. Best optometrists in the Antelope Valley.

Been a client of AVOC since 2002, quality of service is excellent. Process of notifying appointments and checking in is well organized. Doctors (Ophthalmologist) professional and takes time to listens to clients concerns. Will recommend to friends and family.
