Great spot to camp and do some Bay Area exploring. Wildly cute. TONS of wildlife due to suburbs pushing creatures out of their preferred habitat. This is a really interesting way to see the Bay Area and not spend $200 a night on a mediocre hotel.

Only negatives are:
Bit of a long drive up some winding roads
Gate closes early 10pm

The is the best campground in the bay. Clean showers and restrooms. Spacious campgrounds. About 30 minutes from Oakland. Be careful of the winding roads, very friendly staff, lots of hiking trails, clean all around

Boy! What a discovery in my own backyard. The place is absolutely fantastic. The drive from Oakland was 30 minutes which was a plus.winding roads. Beautiful campgrounds and spacious.very friendly and helpful staff. Showers and bathrooms very clean. This will be our go to campground from now on!

Provides everything you need, no false advertising. It is a state park so the RV sites were nice and large with lots of room and very clean. It's beautiful in the trees and so crazy it's so close to town. The drive in an RV seems longer as they are narrow winding roads but it is beautiful on top. Saw deer, no turkeys for us except on the way there. Bathrooms are clean, no showers. Tons and tons of trail hikes. You could easily get lost. Spotty Verizon access. We enjoyed our time.

When you go to reserve, there are MANY tent sites available, but few or no E/W hook-up RV sites available! Please convert some of the tent sites into E/W hook-up sites so people with handicapped children and handicapped adults can stay here.

Très satisfaite de ce camping! Eau chaude, douche et toilette propre. Emplacements spacieux. A l'occasion, nous y retournerons!

We took this spot because it was the cheapest place we could find for hook up campervan camping. The electricity worked fine, but the ameneties were not great. The toilet building is not fully closed. If you need to go at night, you have to bring a flashlight and twice did we encounter what seemed to be like a mountain lion. The showers are a 13 minute walk one-way from the camp site. You also need to press the button every 30 seconds so the water keeps coming out. If you are a true camper and used to this, then go for it. But if you are used to caravan park camping, this is very different. On the plus side, a few hiking trails start from the camp site.

A really cool diamond in the rough with views of SF on a clear day from the east bay. There are a bunch of cool trails around too which make for a great weekender trip. Sites range from rustic to full hookups.

Great nearby place for camping ️. Enjoyed overnight stay. Make sure you take a wagon. We missed so had to do lots of lift and shift and got tired. It would be great if parking is close to camping site.

A wonderful campground in the heart of the city. Very hilly. Lots of challenging hikes. No swimming. AT&T worked great. Our site had full hookups. Saw wild turkeys every morning.

Sites 69 to 73 has lake view. Over all a nice place with good trails around them. Not very far from city but still peaceful. Though wish the bathrooms were more spread out for easier accessibility. Parking is free for the lake below for anyone camping but you need to drive down

Nice camp ground. 8 people are allowed for a booking with 2 cars free, and $8 for additional cars there after.
