I recently had the opportunity to use the services of Anthony De La Vara and his team to sell a property that is located in West Covina that was part of an estate that I was settling. Retaining Anthony was the BEST decision I could have made as he is not only a real estate expert but knows how to provide service to his clients!

Anthony knows the San Gabriel Valley market. After an initial phone conversation about the house, he came to our one and only in-person meeting with a full portfolio of comps and market analysis. He patiently explained the nuances of what made certain houses of similar size in the same market price higher or lower and equated those characteristics to my property. That allowed me to make an informed decision on the listing price, and I am very satisfied with what the house sold for.

But even more than this was the over-the-top level of customer service that he provided. I was concerned that preparing the house for sale was going to be a complicated matter as I lived out of state over 2000 miles away and could only make one in-person visit to the house. But upon meeting Anthony at the house, he assured me that he would be my boots on the ground, using his wide network of contacts in the trades and services to get the house ready for and through the sale. And he did just that. He set up the painters, carpet cleaners, house cleaning service and garbage hauler, and coordinated closely with our estate sale and home organizer professionals to ready the house for listing through final walk through during the close process. Anthony left no detail to chance, making countless trips to the house to take care of things that I simply could not do living so far away. He himself spent much time at the house taking care of the smallest details. He promised he would do this when I signed the listing, and he delivered over and above my expectations.

It is said that tragedies come in threes. In early 2020 this was indeed the truth for my family and I. The world wide Pandemic had me out of work on unemployment and waiting for my job to start slowly bringing some of us workers back. Our new landlord decided to sell the home we had rented for a long time. He had offered it to us but with me out of work and not really intent on buying right yet we were in a bind. We loved our house but did not have the down payment needed for the loan approval. Our landlord's real estate agent expressed his wanting to sell the home as is without an inspection or appraisal. We were concerned, and time was running out. We looked into getting the down payment from family members willing to help but the refusal of an inspection was troublesome. I was not currently employed and my income could not be used in securing the home loan. And finding another rental that allowed pets was few and far between. I contacted someone who was well versed in matters involving buying and selling homes. Anthony Delavara. I had met Anthony at my job years before. In conversation I had asked him give me his opinion on my mother wanting to sell her home. He said he would gladly help if needed. Now I again turned to him for some advice, not as my agent but as a friend. After I had told him the story of the landlords requests he felt that his agent was being overly tough and unprofessional. He eventually bought the home and agreed to allow us to rent it from him.and if we needed help in buying a home he would assist us with that too. Soon after we agreed on a price for the home we were in and bought it in August of 2021. Anthony had the whole inside of the house painted and put in new flooring and carpeting. The bathroom needed work and he replaced the shower/tub and toilet. On the day that our escrow closed one of the workers who had replaced the fixtures in the bathroom showed up to tell me that as a house warming gift Anthony was going to replace the Vanity in that same bathroom. This single gesture allowed me to once again have faith in people. My wife and I couldn't believe it and we told everyone we knew about it. That should be the end of the story but a week later while I was still sleeping he dropped by our house to hand my wife the last rent check we sent him, he told her to take it back. He knew how much we had been through and wanted to help.
Anthony his daughter Alora and his team will always be in our hearts for being a savior in a situation that we didn't see coming and needed help with.
