Anytime Fitness, San Diego CA

My experience with cancelling my membership was unlike many of the negative reviews posted here. Marco, the manager, was highly accommodating of my situation and made it simple to cancel. He's also been incredibly helpful in the past. I'd recommend this gym to anyone looking for a 24/7 access facility in the San Diego area.

“I have experienced several issues at the gym recently. Whenever it rains, the roof leaks onto the machines, and on the last rainy day, two panels fell onto one machine, remaining like that for over a week. The cable machine accessories are consistently broken. Among the four cardio machines, one is non-functional. Only one of the two spinning bikes is operational. There is a lack of wet wipes to clean the machines, and the ab machine is ripped making very uncomfortable to use it. Overall, the equipment and accessories are in poor condition. I hope these concerns can be addressed for a better gym experience. ”

Responded to an email invitation to meet the mgr Marco last Friday. Waited outside the locked doors with a delivery driver until a member let us in. Was told they were off for the holiday but would "still" honor the $1 down deal which I knew nothing about. Replied a free week (the original offer) might be more proper & was told perhaps I should just sign up online & that, " Life can be busy sometimes. " Good thing my life isn't too busy to keep me from my business appts? Just call me Karen or go to Chuze, they seem to value new customers, thier satisfaction & thier TIME.

Please invest in your gym.
Shower water is lukewarm at best. Need to turn up the temperature! Also, showers run out of warm water after 10 minutes of one person using the shower every time! It's awful. Bathrooms lack places to put things, hang things, No sitting area. It's so sparse. Really pathetic gym membership.

Trash almost full, trash on the floor, water everywhere, shelves and hooks have been torn out and not replaced, sink dirty and rusted underneath, rubber mats probably have their own lifeforms. No other gym I have visited has been in this condition.

Anytime fitness has proven time and time again that you guys suck. I call over and over and never answer. You guys have a dirty gym. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER service. Down hill the last 2 years. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM.

As noted by others the cancellation policy is absurd.they make it as hard to cancel as possible so that they can continue to take your money.there are rarely any employees at the gym so I could not quit in person.no one answers the phone for that same reason.turns out to cancel I now need to sent certified mail. I have never had to send certified mail to cancel something in my life. I have been a member of probably 20+ gyms and fitness studios. This policy is ridiculous. I don't even write reviews but I am LIVID.the gym itself is nice and the "anytime" aspect is of course convenient.but I recommend choosing literally any other gym so that you don't deal with this nonsense. I have also reported this gym to the BBB. Get it together, Anytime Fitness.

I tried to cancel many times after moving away, they said it was cancelled and now I’ve been sent to collections, I will be suing

The bathrooms have mold and every shower room has an inch of water throughout the room. The bathrooms and showers all have a stench that makes me worried to even touch the sink handle.

I used to love this gym. Canceled and sent me to collections. They are a nightmare. Canceling this gym is harder than getting out of a time share. Screw you Marco.

Everything great for the machines, there gonna be replacing a punching a bag soon. The shower room are clean and maintain but heed of warning this gym is only doing 12 month contracts at this time.

After canceling my membership with previous management, Marco had informed me that I had an outstanding balance. They refused to cancel over the phone and I even had a 3 way call with ABC fitness who does the accounting and Marco. ABC fitness said they could waive the fees without an authorized managers consent. ABC said they would send a formal to anytime fitness to get the fees waived and get my membership canceled. I told them to keep me posted and if they need to call me I'll be available. Instead Marco thought it was best to just send it to collections. A really nice facility but greedy and dirty business. Marco, you are a horrible

Great place to zone in on your workout. Nothing extremely fancy but has all the machines and free weights one will need. Big plusses for me are the monthly price and the key fob to go anytime I want. All members are pretty chill and seem to be there only to get their workout in, like me.

Good value for the price. Staff are friendly and the other people working out keep to themselves which is nice. Sometimes can have people hanging out in the lobby after hours charging phones and watching TV but they don't bother anyone.

This gym is absolutely disgusting.

Ive been going to this gym for about 9 months now and each week this gym just seems to get worse and worse. It is extremely cramped inside and so hot that I doubt there is an AC inside. The bathrooms have no paper towels, rarely have soap in the dispensers, and don’t have working locks on the bathroom door which is just straight up evil of the owners to think they can get away with that. Not to mention I have seen human feces on the floor of the bathrooms multiple times. There are rarely any staff on site and when they are they barely do they job, not letting customers in, and leaving for a “break” for hours at a time.do NOT get a membership at this sad excuse for a gym, there are plenty of better options within the area.

So about this gym. Its a great place for beginners or people that are just trying to get back into fitness. Generally speaking I like it because it's very quiet and it's a smaller gym.you don't feel claustrophobic. There would be a definite five stars if they put the boxing bag in a whole different section of the gym. Also to make sure that the bathrooms were consistently checked on and cleaned all the time.that's all but its a cool gym all around.
