AO Nails & Lashes, San Diego CA

Please do not go here if you are black. I was treated extremely rude. All I asked for was for me and my husband to get a full set of gel and we were told they didn’t have time to do that even though they close at 10pm…the time we arrived was 4: 45…we wouldn’t have minded to sit and wait but one of the technicians looked at her and gave her a look while she shook her head no basically denying us service. There were 2 other technicians not doing anything so how is it you can’t provide a service within a timely manner? I don’t want to nag but please be cautious going here. This whole situation wasn’t right.

My original place was closed for the day and I needed a gel X full set.so I found AO nails. I thought I was getting the best service at my original place but Emily did an amazing job here at AO. Her attention to detail was phenomenal! Sally was extremely helpful and the rest of the staff were very very nice. I'm a forever fan now and this is my new nail salon. I was complacent and I didn't know I could get this awesome service. P. S. I don't mind paying for perfection.

Rude and unprofessional workers, overpriced, and just a lack of respect throughout the establishment. Awful customer support with disrespect from the manager. They charged $60 for a basic ombre design that any other nail salon could do. One specific worker, a man with a ponytail was very unprofessional. He had a strong cigarette odor and raised his voice at me because the design was too complicated for him even though he confirmed he could do said design when I showed him the photo. They don't tell you the price beforehand and will overcharge you. Also, when the workers were talking to each other in Chinese, they were making rude comments about previous customers and American culture. The quality of the nails is terrible, they feel very thin and did not meet my expectations.

It's so helpful that they're open late and that was how I found them, but honestly I'm glad I did for the quality - it's also a very nice, relaxing small shop and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. Leo helped me select a dip color that I LOVE.

I did have one break the next day, but that can happen easily with tips+dip and they repaired it for me free of charge and I haven't had any issues!

Horrible service. Very creepy and awkward. If you’re an American woman they will not make you feel welcome. Yelling at each other in their language. Very chaotic and scary. Bad environment. Nail tech kept hurting me. Pushing cuticles down very hard. Burned me with the drill. Stay far away. Felt like nail torture. 0 stars.

I am so blessed to have found this nail place with an opening at such a late time. The staff is so polite and welcoming and patient! I brought my 10 year old and 2 year old and they also loved their manis and pedis. I’m so satisfied with this new way of getting my nails done. They are perfect and don’t look bulky or have a smell to them! Thank you all I can’t wait to book my next appointment for a fill and for last extensions

Definitely over charged. 40 for gel color. Not a manicure or a change of color. Just to paint the gel on and file the nails.

I moved away for a bit and found myself looking at old pictures of my nails and I had to leave this five star review. I have never found a salon with such expertise. This is literally the best nail salon in Southern California. Gel X is not easy and they are experts! I simply showed them a picture for inspiration and they found the color match and did it even better.

They were very nice! Only thing is they dont do spa services yet. They do nails very well and are knowledgeable!

I revisit this salon since I really like my eyelash technician Jasmine. She is very professional and talented. I come for a new style this time and as I’ve been expected, her new design is pretty and natural. I will definitely recommend 2DYY design if you are looking for daily commute!

Love their late hour availability. I love that they don't frilly spa treatments. They seem to be focused on technical perfection. This is the 5th Salon I've tried in SD in my search for the perfect hard gel/dip to maintain my fragile natural nails. I think I finally found THE ONE! I did like all the other salons I tried. They just seem technically better.

Terrible terrible terrible, they completely lied about the prices i walked in showed them a reference and they said it’ll be 60$ which i didn’t mind paying, COMES TO FINE OUT IT IS 125$? Make up your mind and stop losing about your prices. They overcharge

Love AO nails. I’ve been trying to find somewhere in SD that does hard gel well and has pretty natural colors. They do an amazing job at keeping my nails looking natural. They pay attention to detail and shape. They don’t use acetone to remove anything which is healthier for your nails in the long run. Totally recommend! I’ve had Kiki & Coco and both did my nails perfectly.

Not worth the $70 I paid. One of the nails already broke, the little gem came off and I just got the new set on 04/01

This is my first time visiting AO. Nails and design! I love my new nail design. Emily was my technician, and I think she is very professional and sweet! She did exactly the design and color I want. Definitely recommend her!

This is my preferred nail salon. Kiki does a polished gel manicure. Very nice work. They are reasonably priced too.
