Applebee's Grill + Bar, El Cajon CA

Applebees is on their own schedule they had people lined up out the door with more than half the restaurant seating available to be occupied, but if i understand correctly patrons coming for happy hour are seated in a certain area and not the entire restaurant. It was frustrating to stand in line and see all the vacant tables but this is what really threw me off, I was told 4 times that my party would be seated once a party of 2 (which were right in front of my party) were served their drinks.
So now im just looking at these guys, thinking to myself, imagining myself vocalizing to this couple to hurry up and order a drink it could be water! Dont care tired of standing! Ill order water for them, hows that? Can we be seated now?
Our waitress was prompt and attentive but getting seating and finding parking is just not worth it.

Service was very bad. They were all very very rude and took a long time bringing our food and they ALL have staring promblems.

A crowded Saturday night enjoyed dinner with friends. Good food, great service, a very nice evening and we didn't wait too long.

Got seated on a Saturday when not too busy. We waited 20 minutes to be seated. After being seated we waited well over 15 minutes never got a server or anyone acknowledging us we walked out and went elsewhere. This is horrible service

We left because we were quoted 40 min for a table and another group came in and was quoted an hour right after us. The other group was confused as it was not busy and we had said "ours is 40 man, but should be quick. " And the Hostess Alejandra said out of nowhere to everyone in the waiting area "do you all want to tell my servers to move faster? !? " Everyone was taken back as she stared us down and the other guy in the group with kids said "no thank you. " It was so awkward that when she stormed off, we all left. I'm talking every person in the waiting area.not sure what was going on in her world but it definitely got taken out on all of us. Needless to say not a good review here. Staff right and staff better. Please

I've always liked Applebee's, but lately, this is the second time I have ordered the Chicken Wontong Tacos, and they are out. If you close late, why not prepare ahead to have some? There are still hours before closing. Nonetheless, the service is still pretty good, and the atmosphere is about the same. I think the one in Rancho is a little better.

The food was good but the service was bad. He did not know what he was doing. The restaurant could also use a good cleaning.

I ordered French onion soup and they topped it with Swiss cheese. I spoke to gal at front desk, just to inform her, and she started to tell me you can sometimes use Swiss cheese! Provolone is the cheese.not Swiss. Not American, Provolone. You may want to make sure soux chefs are aware!

Walked Into restaurant,
asked to be seated up front, on side, due to injured leg.
I didn't specify, but you can see I am wearing the boot and didn't want to walk to far.
Guy said no because there was no servers. Yet there was 2 or 3 tables in use with
I assume a server, don't think they were serving themselves.
So we were sat in the back of the room to wich we sat there for about 5-10 min. With out being acknowledged, was not offered a glass of water or letting us know it would take a while.
So we got up to leave. Waitress suddenly appeared, asked are you leaving?
We said yes we are and she said Ok, and walked away no, let me take care of you or was busy, nothing!

First off, Myrna our bartender put on a clinic for other would-be servers. She was awesome, friendly, attentive, and authentic. It didn’t feel like she was putting on a show or pretending to be someone she wasn’t. I feel like she deserves a shout out and a raise.

My southwest chicken bowl was mind blowingly delicious. I was not expecting that at all. We came here because Texas Roadhouse had a line out the door, and my expectations weren’t super high, but hot dang that bowl was amazing. There was tender chicken, cooked perfectly, in every single delicious bite. I could eat that every day, no sweat.

Drinks were a little on the spendy side, but it was a Saturday night, so I should’ve anticipated the lack of a happy hour. Otherwise, fantastic experience.

If I could've they would have gotten 0! Worst service ever! The manager Liz should be fired on the spot! Order take out, customer before me spent $130 and they got her order wrong 3 times they waited an hour to finally get it right & stilled charged her! They gave my order to someone else and I had to wait 45 minutes and the burger we ordered was supposed to be pink & was well done fries and onion rings & were cold and soggy!
NEVER AGAIN WILL THU GET MY BUSINESS!

Just like any other Applebee's, some better then others. This was a good place, service and food. Great server name Mercedes

Nice waiter. My Mom and I both ordered a Blue Bahama mama margarita. I pointed to the pic and print on the menu to the waiter to make sure I was gonna get the one I wanted since it was $6 and looked the yummiest to me. One of my kids had a glass of soda and the other had water. We all shared the combo appetizer and then shared two of the brownie desserts that were less than $3 each. The total was $50 before tipping.
We got the wrong margaritas which maybe charged us more but I wasn't expecting a $50 bill. I didn't even taste alcohol in my drink it was very sweet. We got one of each of the four choices that are on the appetizer. And I had a bite of brownie with a tiny bit of vanilla ice cream.
There was a 20 min wait for our table and when we were called and seated there was over ten open but dirty tables I counted. I think maybe they were short staffed or something but I have had way better experiences at Applebee's, this was a disappointment

Very nice place everyone there. Is so friendly. You don't have many obnoxious customers there so I ts very nice. Drinks might been a little light. There should be better happy hour specials.

Mother's day lunch with a lovely waitress named Mercedes. She was helpful and attentive to everyone else around us too. My salmon was delicious.
