Aquarium of the Bay reviews
14The price: Without a discount code the price would have been 108 for 4 of us. I did find a code online that brought it down to 84. Not bad. I guess. But once I got there, I quickly realized the price wasn’t going to be worth it. It was literally 20 minutes of a tiny building made into a fish tank. And let me tell you; the fish don’t talk but they looked super sad and depressed. And the ground squirrel (only one!) was freaking out trapped in his habitat tube by himself. I felt so bad! It was like witnessing a circus full of unhappy animals.this place shouldn’t even be running.
It's worth the visit, you have to pay to visit. But the experience is really cool.
Seeing sharks and fish up close is magnificent.
There is a part where you can touch the lanes.this is very interesting for children and adults.
The photos look beautiful.
The aquarium is nice but small and very crowded.
The truth is there is not much to see but the jellyfish area is very beautiful and you can also touch stingrays.
Admission costs $33 dollars but is also included in passes such as the Go City Pass.
Fantastic exhibits with a variety of fascinating creatures. The otter exhibit is a must. The walk through tank is stunning with sharks and other incredible fish.
It was OK, a little underwhelming to what we were expecting. Still neat but very quick (we had 3 kiddos with us). Thought there would be bigger sharks and more tanks. The touch tank also does not have many creatures to interact with.
Too expensive for this aquarium botanical garden closed until November 17 due to maintenance damage
I don’t know why this place has such mediocre reviews, this aquarium is great! We loved it. So clean and such friendly staff. There were no lines (on a Saturday), tickets were affordable and they offer a discount if you are a zoo member. Well it is on the smaller side, it’s perfect and just right for small children. You can enjoy the rest of your afternoon on the wharf. My toddler enjoyed herself and so did I. There are interactive sites and a shark tunnel which were lots of fun. We are definitely returning, love this place!
I managed to snag a small discount from Groupon, but at $25 a ticket it feels too expensive for this grocery/clothing store sized aquarium, especially considering that they don't offer any parking voucher, so you wind up paying $12 per hour for parking (with having to wait for lines, etc I had to pay $36). Also, it definitely felt like the line to get in took longer than the amount of time to view all of the exhibits. Feeling sad about this experience. I think the only positive thing to say is that the fish themselves looked in good health.
As someone who has visited a very many aquariums across the states, this was by far, my very least favorite, and only one I have legitimately disliked.
Was really excited and looking forward to it, but just left really, really disappointed instead
The staff was wonderful but for the price, this aquarium was tiny. It felt like the first hallway of other aquariums without the rest.
I had the Best Experience Visiting Aquarium of the Bay this 2023 Summer. My Daughters Absolutely loved the Tunnel & I enjoyed every single Ocean Life being Displayed. Thank you for the Memories and God Bless San Francisco Bay Area!
The location is amazing but if you have ever been to the Georgia aquarium or even the Shedd aquarium then this will be a huge disappointment for you. I personally was underwhelmed and disappointed in how small this aquarium is. Save your money if you’re just visiting SF
Pier 39 is truly fantastic. Great selection of food and so, so tasty. Fabulous selection of shops, even a Christmas shop. If You're looking for clothing especially a hoodie highly recommended. Truly wonderful place and definitely somewhere to visit
I bought the Citypass and used one of the 4 entrances here, the route was very short, the jellyfish was what fascinated the most and the fish tunnel wow
