Araki Sushi reviews
17Some friends took me here and it is WONDERFUL. The sushi is the best I've ever had (and I've looked around a lot). The noodle soups were superb - so many veggies and seafood. The staff was quite lovely and polite, even though they were very busy. The atmosphere delightful - a lot of nice little touches in a beautiful casual setting. Prices very reasonable. So glad I found my new "favorite" sushi place! Please open one in San Carlos, we need a good one up here!:)
This is a lovely little place with plenty of sushi options. The service is great too. We enjoyed (eel) sushi, salmon hand roll, and salmon roe. Excellent quality food, quick service, great location.
I'd recommend finding parking a few streets away.
Best sushi for the buck. It's a perfect simple restaurant with no hype.
Loved it. If I go back to Palo Alto it's a must visit
Great place with very reasonable prices. Amazing sashimi combo which is thick and great price where usually other placee charge more and skimp on the thickness. Soft shell crabs are super. Selection is great. Definitely will visit again.
Food was really great. The Vegetable Udon which we ordered was so fresh and tasty. The service was great too. We ended up hanging around for several hours there.
Delicious sushi at great prices! Here's my take:
Victoria's secret roll: Very different than anything I've had before. The roll is wrapped in foil and set on fire at your table. The taste was interesting but not my favorite.
Philly roll: Incredibly delicious! It's a very simple roll but very well made. I even ordered a second one:)
Tiger roll: This was a salmon, cream cheese and avocado roll and was better than expected. The amount of fish was great and overall great quality.
Both the sake (salmon) and maguro (tuna) sushis were delicious. The portion of fish was very generous and yummy.
The restaurant itself is nothing special ambient wise, but the man who served us was very nice and helpful. Will definitely come back.
We ordered California roll, spicy tuna, Philadelphia roll, and Miso soup. It was all delicious. Will order again
The food is reasonable. Not the best sushi in the area but good enough to try it when you are in downtown Palo Alto.
Came to araki sushi for saturday lunch.friendly service, decent prices (they have a lunch special that is available on weekends too), and good quality sashimi.service was also very friendly and attentive, asking us if we needed anything and refilling our water.our food came out very fast too.we got the sashimi/nigiri combo ($24) and the lunch special (rainbow roll and spicy scallop roll). It came with two soups and two salads.the thicker cuts of sashimi were really good and tasted good quality.the rest of the sushi was nothing extraordinary, but i enjoyed it and it was a good portion size.i'd come back for the lunch special and sashimi.
Loved visiting this place! The staff was really nice and the food was great too. They gave us free first round of drinks too.
Sushi was good! We ordered several pieces of nigiri style sushi, and all were very good. Servers were attentive. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.
This place is a treasure! OMG am so happy because finally I could find a excellent place for my favorite food! The quality of the sushi is just perfect we orden so many things and everything was wonderful, the service is attentive even when they were super full! I definitely recommend this place! For me is the best sushi restaurant!
We waited for 30 minutes. They completely forgot about us. Turns out they told the waitress to leave on break and she forgot to put in our order before she left. There were at most three other patrons in the restaurant. No one noticed. They then refused to give us any recompense for our loss. It became clear that anything I said or did would only result in the waitress being punished. All I could do was leave. I strongly suggest boycotting this place. It reeks of bad ethics. Eating here only reinforces this kind of behavior.
Rude service and long wait. Was ignored by most of the staff. Stay away from this establishment, you will be disappointed.
The service and food was really great! The owner took our orders on hand written scrap paper, and he poured our sake so nicely! It was a nice feeling of a locally owned restaurant. The only issue was cleanliness, as there were flies flying around the dining area.
I really enjoyed the salmon dish as well as the tempura dish.
The place is small so you might have to wait for a seating.
You sit next to other patrons.
Do not mind about that, just order the dish you like and enjoy it.
Here is the picture of " "Salmon lover" dish.
The OMG roll is something out of a Guy Fieri restaurant. Take that however you'd like it.
