Argonaut Hotel, San Francisco CA

The location of the hotel is very good and central to all that it at Fisherman’s Wharf, so a plus there. The disappointing aspects were that in both our room and our kids rooms the alarm had been preset prior to our arrival for 6am, which was an unpleasant awakening, and made for a tiring first day in San Francisco! Unfortunately the onsite bar - the Blue Mermaid fell well short of what we would have expected - on each occasion that we had a drink in the outside terrace, the tables needed cleaned (as did the surrounding area as had rubbish around). The service was also poor and on the last occasion actually wrote on the check that no tip was been given as no service was received - after waiting at table ended up having to go in and ask a waiter who said just to go to the bar (he was reading a magazine), so if it were not for the resort credit that we needed to use, we would not have frequented this place more than the first time

The staff here are very nice! You can pay this hotel to hold onto your bags while you explore Fishermans warf!

Swanky and historic nautical themed dog-friendly hotel in a great area of Fisherman’s Wharf. Room was spacious and very comfortable (great bed!). Loved the free bike perk, which allowed me to cruise around northern SF. Would recommend.

Loved all the attention to detail, like the kids treasure chest and the snacks put out for the runners the morning of our race. Great location and service!

Our stay at the Argonaut was incredible! From the staff (would give 10*s if I could!) to the excellent location, we had the best time staying here and would definitely come back again.

Rooms very clean, restaurant has great breakfast and staff very friendly. Safety is ensured by various means and location is ideal if your main thing is to visit the Wharf.

This hotel is near everything! Fisherman’s Wharf, views of the chocolate factory and Golden Gate Bridge. Loved the hotel’s history and museum as well!

We had an excellent stay at the Argonaut Hotel during our family trip to San Francisco. We loved the location - it couldn’t be more perfect! The first station for the iconic cable car is just across the street. It was so cool to watch them turn the car around, and being first in line meant we could choose our seats.

Just a few minutes away, there are several bike rental companies. We had an amazing time biking to the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, and then returning by ferry - an adventure we’ll always remember.

The hotel is also a short walk from Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square, which you can actually see from some rooms! Plus, Lombard Street is just a 10-15 minute walk away.

When we first arrived, our room was a bit smelly. But the hotel staff was very accommodating and quickly moved us to a different room. They were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

We really enjoyed our time at the Argonaut and would highly recommend it for families exploring San Francisco!

Very nice hotel! Very comfortable beds with good sheets and good towels. Close to the tram terminus and electric bike rental! Good breakfast and dinner! The only bad thing is that the restaurant closes early for my taste! 9pm. What I think they should improve is the lundry service since it is not clear how it works and our clothes were left unwashed, they justified themselves by saying that they had called us to let us know, but the phone they called was the one in the room, that we were not there since We went out for a walk and having our personal phone they had to call us to contact us, it was easy to solve. I only get 1 star and it's because of the lundry service. I would choose the hotel again and I recommend it!

Our room was fine, and the bed was comfortable, but we found multiple, dark hairs in the bathroom that was honestly impossible to miss.

The location is amazing, the lobby was beautiful and I would recommend staying here. The only reason I have 4 stars for the room is looking out our window it looked into a courtyard with other rooms when the website showcased views. The good news is the staff was friendly (4 stars due to them offering to bring something to the room, they never arrived so we ran downstairs) and the rooms were clean and for us quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our bay view room looking right out to Alcatraz. Room was spotless, daily service was complete, smiles were in abundance. Will stay again, perhaps upgrading to a suite, although our room was plenty roomy. Absolutely loved the convenience of the location and the unique character of the building. Have to find time next visit to enjoy the restraurant.

Great place, but it did feel like they were trying to charge us for many things. Paid snacks, water, and alcohol in the rooms, even charging *us* an extra fee at the restaurant because of higher minimum wages.

Great place to stay. Beautiful hotel in a perfect location for vacation in San Francisco. Rooms staff and amenities are all top notch.

Lovely hotel in a great location at Fisherman’s Wharf. Hotel is charming with friendly staff. You are within walking distance to several sites including the piers, Ghirardelli Square, and Lombard street. Hyde Street trolly stop and bus tours can be found just down the way as well. And don’t sleep on the hotel restaurant, The Blue Mermaid.
