Arinell Pizza reviews
18Very good pizzas and service. The price per slice is very affordable. The lady behind the counter was nice and made our pizzas very quick.
Pizza was the worst I ever had the crust was rock hard and the pizza was stale and the girl assisting me was rude and extremely unprofessional if you don’t like your job quit. I will not be returning
I've been coming here pretty much my whole life. It will always be a favorite. Whenever I'm not feeling good and can't eat much, I can eat this pizza.
I will say make sure all your slices are the same size. Im not sure if theure being told to do this, but lately they've been giving smaller slices. This last time, I ordered 3 slices, and one of them looked like a kids slice compared to the others. They are known for the taste and size, and if I'm paying the same price, I need the same size.
I definitely recommend them, and I'll always be back as long as I get the correct size slices.
My review of Arinell is old, but the place is still very familiar to me as the best place for a New York style pie in Berkeley!
If looks could kill - I literally got the dirtiest look ever when I told the female staff member I was just looking. I was just looking before I intended to make a purchase but decided to go next door instead.
The pizza is trash and there was literally a fight because they wouldn't refund a pizza because the pizza is bad. Don't go here
My wife and I have been eating pizza at Arinell's since 1979. My mother use to buy me a slice of pizza when I was a kid while we were waiting for the shuttle to take us to UC Berkeley. For this reason, I use to ask my mom if I could go to school with her, just to get a slice of pizza. Come to find out, my wife use to eat here when she was a kid as well. It was her favorite place to eat pizza. The bad news is, the prices have gotten out of control. It's five dollars for one slice of pizza and $36 dollars for a large cheese pizza. We enjoyed going there so much, that all four of our kids have become fans. Every time we went, we purchased two large pies. I'm sorry to say, $36 is a bit much and my wife and I sadly agree that we will no longer eat at Arinell. It saddens me to say that, being it held a special place in my heart because of the memories I have going with my mother, who is no longer with me. In any case, thank you for the wonderful years I've shared with my mother and family.
Went to Berkeley H. S, graduated in '83. Ate here ALL the time. Moved back into area few yrs ago.
Located in uptown Berkeley, which means NO PARKING ANYWHERE, but well worth it. Pizza just as I remembered. Better than EXCELLENT.
I will return for more.
Now that the blonde haired guy with the ponytail who is a jerk doesn't work there, I feel better about this place
Disgusting, filthy awful place. Can't believe they're still open. Well known for rude staff - you want to buy food from a-holes? Seen roaches in there many times. Disgraceful and gross.
Was loudly yelled and cussed at because they forgot to call me to pick up the pizza. Arinell Pizza is mediocre pizza served with terribly rude customer service. Take it from these reviews:
- “There was a bug - a live bug - in my daughter's drink and they not only denied it, despite it being right in their faces, but were completely rude about it. ”
- Out the oven, the slice was very hard and stale. The two guys were talking loud and unprofessional, cursing at times. Most of the tables were dirty…
- Unprofessional service it's guaranteed they'll burn your pizza
- “…the pizza that was out looks like it been there a long time. ”
- “Cashier literally screamed and cussed at us for refusing to pay before we received the pizza. I've never experienced such horrible service. Will not be returning anytime soon. ”
Sadly, they really skimped on the vegan cheese on mine. My pizza had very little surface area covered by cheese—quite different than the photos of real cheese pizza up there. I recommend maybe saying something beforehand to figure out what you can expect or asking for extra cheese.
If you're complaining about rude service chill out you're clearly not built for NY this is exactly how it is at some of the best pizzerias in NYC
Pizza is good. Guy making pies is rude and needs a chin checking I think he's in over his head can't handle the work load
I seen the old guy treating the Berkeley high and CAL students really badly like giving them an attitude also he needs to chill out he throws the metal trays which scared a few costumers inside
I have been going to Arinell's for over 40 years and it is still my favorite pizza restaurant.
Horrible service on 4/10/21 at 7: 50pm the two people working were laughing while writing a demeaning message on the box about someone accidentally ordering vegan. They thought I was a DoorDash driver and “made me wait” not knowing I was the partner of the person ordering. Then said on the phone they were the owners and made a gendered demeaning comment to my partner “chill Jill”. Would not recommend going there at this time with these two working.
I went in to order a pizza and I saw that the pizza that was out looks like it been there for a long time. I ask if I could order a new pizza and the older guy started telling me how long they been in business and if I wanted to add toppings at $2 per topping. At first I thought he didn’t hear me so I ask again and he did the same thing. Very rude I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone as long as he is there
