SFC Thompson was visiting my school Birmingham Community Charter High School. He came into my class to discuss the army branch. Never have I ever would’ve thought about joining the army, let alone active duty. Initially, I was going to join the National Guard; however, before proceeding with the process, I decided to hear what SFC Thompson had to say. Turns out, I was lied to by NG. Thankfully, because of SFC Thompson, I got further information and wasn’t LIED to. I decided to talk to him more in depth personally and was intrigued about the Army Reserves but hearing his story and what he’s gone through (all without being lied to) I was fascinated by army active duty. Now, SFC Thompson is helping me become a part of Army Active Duty. Never was I ever forced by him which made me feel more at ease and knowing that he’s helping me with this new journey makes me feel elated. I’m very grateful for SFC Thompson. Wouldn’t have been possible without him and I hope to be able to do amazing in serving our country just like he did. Best recruiter. #TEAMTHOMPSON

I had been working at a hotel for a while and I saw service men there come and go. I mentioned to one in passing that when I was younger I had wanted to join. But I was talked out of it by my family. He asked me how old I was cause I looked young. I told him I was 29. He asked me if I had kids or if I was married and I said yes. So he asked what’s stopping you? I went home that night thinking. What IS stopping me? I had comfortable jobs sure. I was making good money for what I was doing but was I fulfilled? Did I have my daughter in my ideal home? Would I be able to take her on vacations with my husband? What quality of life are we living day to day? So I signed up for some information. I just wanted to see what my options were. I was tired of living where I was because of some stupid financial decisions I made. So I wanted to form a plan and see if the army was the right choice for me. Initially I had just wanted some information, some of my questions answered because I like to have things crystal clear. I met Sfc Thompson May 2023 here at the Starbucks at the collection. He was super cool super informative. He told me about his career in the army how he started and answered all my questions. I was convinced from that point on to join. He explained to me the process and was with me every step Of the way. Every question, every concern he was always here for me! I swear in next week and I am so excited for myself and for my family. I am so thankful that my request landed in his hands!
I got the MOS that fits me perfectly. He’s always wanted the best for me and encouraged what I wanted to do. Sfc Thompson is the best! You can’t go wrong with him!
