I’m honestly writing to agree with everything else that other residents have written about the parking garage situation at this apartment. My car got stolen from the apartment garage and the apartment is doing their best to avoid responsibility. Even though every time I pass by the garage door is left open for a long time (yes, I’ve timed it multiple times and the garage was even open after I stopped timing) even after my car theft occurred.
This is even more alarming seeing that there is easy access into the building from an open garage, this security is compromised. Management doesn’t do a good job of notifying residents of these issues either. For instance, no notice has gone out to the general residents since my car was stolen which I think is a bare minimum management can do. Otherwise the apartment is pretty and new but management can do better especially concerning safety

I must say that the leasing office team is truly exceptional. Whenever I’ve had a repair request or any other type of request, they’ve been incredibly responsible and quick to take action, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly. They are always ready to assist and make living here a pleasant experience.

Moreover, the environment in this community is fantastic. The well-maintained grounds and amenities create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.

We’ve lived at Artizan for the last 10 months and can only attest to our own experience. Honestly, it’s been consistently great since the beginning to now. From picking the unit that best fits our needs, to moving into the building itself, and finally living at the property, the team has made the experience so smooth considering how stressful it can be. The building is gorgeous and is maintained on a regular basis. There may be pieces of trash here and there but in general, the upkeep is satisfactory. Management is super helpful and quick to resolve issues. I have seen them go above and beyond for us on a couple of occasions. The neighborhood has its issues with noise on certain days and sketchy characters walking around but overall, I feel safe considering there are security guards specifically for our building and separate ones for the Brooklyn Basin/Township Commons patrolling on golf carts. The gorgeous views of the water and ample recreational space could not be more ideal for dog owners like ourselves.

The only critique is towards the pool and amenities. I wish the pool was heated year round and not just on certain months. They charge a fee to rent out the club house which to me is a bit steep. Not enough to take off a star tho. Never had any issues with our mail being stolen or our cars getting broken into but have heard neighbors who have experienced this. *knocks on wood*

We've lived in several apartment complexes before and comparatively, Artizan has given us the best experience thus far. Shout out to Nate, Julia, and Freddy. Such a great team. PS. We miss Stephanie and wish her the best!

Everything is new and nice but residents never follow community guidelines every weekend there are some parties and events that continues after posted quite hours. Management can’t seem to have an control of this situation. Security after hours phone never works and they are not really enforcing the guideline. It’s been 2.5 months if you are choosing unit facing courtyard be prepared to have a party noise all day long over the weekend to see neighbors get drunk and loud also over crowded hot tub god knows how hygienic it is after that.

NEW
I live at the Artizan and the customer/tenant service I got from the property manager Nate Bennet was poor!

My car was broken between June 15, Saturday morning, and June 16, Sunday evening. My car was parked in the Artizan parking garage. It just so happens that when I was headed to my car and found out it was broken into, Nate was inspecting the parking garage door for issues. I immediately told him that my car had been broken into. He asked me to hold on because he was on the phone with someone about the faulty door. Once he ended his call, he proceeded to take photos of the parking garage door. Once he finished, he came over to my car. I again let him know my car was broken into. We both noticed the camera over my car, and I immediately asked him to review the tapes. Seeing how the garage door was an issue, it may be directly connected to my car break-in. Nate told me he was off the clock and wouldn’t review the tapes until the next morning. I let him know that was unacceptable. He still refused. I also told him that he should tell the other residents since someone had entered the building and was breaking into cars. He again said nope and left. I began warning everyone I saw in the garage. Others also stated their cars were broken into as well, but Nate was long gone.
I then went to the security guard at the front desk to alert them. Nate hadn’t done so. The security guard told me that it was her first day and that she was to call the manager when an emergency happened. I asked her to call. She did, and again Nate told her over the phone that he would not review the tapes until the morning.
Monday June 17th, I arrived at 9 am to ask for the tapes to be reviewed. Nate didn’t arrive until 9: 23 am with coffee in hand! He asked me into his office and asked me what I needed as if we didn’t have an entire dialog about my car the day before. I reminded him who I was. He sipped his coffee and said, “ I will get to the tapes later today. ” The conversation escalated from there. The fact that I had to wait overnight and alert security on my own is highly unprofessional. I had to check my car several times at night to ensure it wasn’t taken.
I stayed in the office requesting video from 9 am until 12: 30 pm. Nate refused to give me any information. He was rude and condescending the entire time. I refused to leave his office until he reviewed what happened to my car. He called the other property and had someone named Phe come over to watch me. He finally agreed to find the video and give me feedback. He left the office at 1045am and never returned. While waiting for him to return, another tenant came into the office to report his car had also been broken into; the person stole the key fab for the parking garage from his car. He is also still waiting for an update from the office. I left for work at 1230pm.
At 415pm, my wife Jasmine returned home from work and checked in with the office for an update. Alaina told my wife there was still no update.

Oscar was extremely helpful with touring us around! We were able to complete the application with his guidance the same day. He was patient in showing us all the units we requested to see!

"READ BEFORE MOVE IN"

-Apartment complex is new; therefore, it has its areas that need improvement. It was made known that some residents did not have running water for 3 months, while others have circuit issues in their apartment. I have had that issue where I had to diagnose the problem and recommend the solution to the management team to speed up the fixing process.

-Pro: Their maintenance is very responsive when submitting tickets.

-The drainage and shower head of the apartment lacks efficiency. The drain takes a while to empty the tub, and may cause issues down the pipeline. The shower head lacks pressure, so it causes one to waste more water and time in the shower.

-Parking is a whopping $175/months where there's no security in place. Residents have gotten their vehicles damaged with no remedy to the issue from management. For that price, you'll have better luck parking on the streets where there is security throughout the night; however, its becoming very limited with the increase of people moving to the area. It has come to my knowledge they offer parking perks of FREE 6 MONTHS OR FREE PARKING FOR ONE CAR IF YOU HAVE TWO. A perk that was never offered to me when signing up for this complex.

-Now that the price dropped to move here, so did the quality of the apartment complex. The floor are becoming more dirty with animal fecal, and the the elevator has trash left behind. There has also been a heavy marijuana smell in the elevator that does not go away.

-Their GYM has also been cause of robbery and it is missing a weight from the room, and drinks are being left behind. It also now known it closes at 10pm where it was 24hr when there was less residence occupying the apartment complex.

-The packaging area, although it's high tech, closes too early for delivery drivers to deliver packages. They do not mind leaving your package outside, so be ready for it being stolen. Same goes for DoorDash drivers, they leave your food in the lobby due to lack of parking-they make a quick get away before their car gets cited.

-Adults are constantly drinking alcohol at the pool area, which goes against the apartments policy's; however, they take no action against it. Just empty email warnings. Again, taking away from having a safe environment for children.

-If you think you'll be moving to a quite area with the ocean next to you, you are NOT! Every weekend they a have latin music playing all day, and you can hear through the windows being closed. During the week, you will hear the train tracks which disturbs one's peace while trying to WFH.

-If you are handicap, good luck getting around here. The parking spaces are limited, and the door accessibility is as well. None of the doors open automatically for those in a wheelchair, and the elevator handles are covered with tarps. There is no handicap parking around the building, and in the garage I noticed its limited with two spaces per floor.

-If you are new, its a good deal, but for those signed the lease at a higher rate, it has become a great rip off. Wish I would have scoped the area more before moving here, especially now overpaying for the quality of life that is being offered.

I had a great tour of the Artizan this week with Stephanie. She was a friendly and knowledgeable guide and the building is beautiful.

I recently moved to Oakland, and could not be happier with the decision to choose Artizan as a home. It has a waterfront view and is central to many nearby shops and restaurants, including those of Jack London Square and Downtown Oakland. Although its location is central, it remains a very peaceful and enjoyable community.

The building itself is a beautiful, new construction with some of the best and most comprehensive amenities - both within the units themselves, as well as in communal areas.

By far, the best part of my experience here so far has been with the staff. After almost a decade of renting, I have never had such a positive and receptive experience as I have with Artizan - this includes everyone I have had the opportunity to interact with - both the management and maintenance crew.

Management can make a huge difference in the community living experience, and I can tell that the quality and care of the management team here extends all the way up to the ownership.

Looking forward to staying here a long time!

So I just moved into this lovely building last month and let me tell you I am so happy to be here! The building and amenities are beautiful, always clean, and just aesthetically pleasing! From my first walk through to look at an apartment the staff have been amazing. Nate, Stephanie, and Julia have been so helpful and responsive to any and all questions and concerns I have had and I truly appreciate that! Especially since this is my first time living in an apartment complex.
Anytime I invite friends over and show them around they are always impressed with how beautiful the amenities are! Not just one but two lounges that are decorated and designed for comfort and style! And a beautiful and comfortable work share space next to the rooftop deck. Everyone asks to throw or host events here and I love it. The pool and grilling area are beautiful and I cannot wait to use them as it gets warmer! The second floor lobby has a pool table and huge game table with different board games! In December the staff set up a gift wrapping station on the second floor lobby with hot chocolate and everything you need to wrap your gifts at no cost to residents, which I thought was super cute and thoughtful (so thank you guys for that!). I’m excited for this year of getting to know my neighbors in the building as well as the staff and utilizing all the amenities here!
There is a lot of construction going on around this area but I cannot hear any of it. My neighbors next door have two little dogs and I never hear them at all. So safe to say the walls are thick and the windows are double paned. I would recommend anyone looking for a new home to come check out the Artizan!

This is a great place to live - what really separates it from the rest is the staff. Special shout-out to Nate, who is exceedingly competent and thorough in his effort to help ensure we have all the information we need to make living here as comfortable as possible, and Freddy for always going above and beyond to address any issues with our unit. Cheers!

If i could rate this community more than five stars I would.if possible i would give ten! I started touring the community right when it opened for tours. Julia has toured me a few times and has been amazing. During my tours I have seen her interact with people who live here and she is always friendly with everyone laughing and has a real community vibe. The community is so pretty and has great views. The amenities are great, love the assigned parking and that it is actually parking spaces and not lifts and the vibe of the building is so peaceful. The owners def.picked a great location to build this community.

The floor plans are great. I have toured five times and each time Julia has been so helpful. I love two apartment homes there and only reason I have not applied yet is the rates are still a little out of my budget unfortunately. (Fingers crossed) Artizan at some point will be my next home.

They have a great open space area with amazing aesthetics, pool table and the gym is really nice. The apartment homes are very nice with large windows and the pool is a plus.

I recently toured last Saturday again and also interacted with Stephanie who was so sweet. Any time I have called or have questions or request another tour I always feel welcomed. They are in the same area as orion which I have also toured. I can honestly say the vibe, set up and staff difference even though the buildings are approx.a block apart is night and day. I wouldn't feel comfortable the same way at Orion as I would at Artizan.

Not sure if these actually get reviewed but if so thank you so much to the staff at Artizan for always making me feel so welcome, touring me so many times. It was really nice to tour somewhere where you can actually see that people are organized, the community is well maintained and watching current people who live there interact so well with the people who work at the community is huge.

If you are looking for a new apartment home in Oakland I highly suggest looking at Artizan. I also recommend working with Julia or Stephanie.

I've never lived in a brand new apartment building, but being one of the first residents in the building and the first tenant in a unit at Artizan has been truly wonderful.

There is a lot of construction in the neighborhood, but the double-paned windows keep the outside noise levels to a minimum. It hasn't been a bother at all. And, all the heat waves we've experienced in the past couple of months have been a non-issue - AC in all units (!) and a pool provide (d) much relief and respite.

The common areas (pool/ping ping table, outdoor grilling stations, bocce court, jacuzzi and pool, club room and bar, and co-working spaces) are beautiful. Friends that have come to visit have actually asked if they could have/host events here.

Parking spaces are assigned and accessible from hallway corridors, which has been super convenient for trips, errands, and grocery runs. Our last property had a car stacker system that was always broken and challenging to navigate. This is a HUGE upgrade!

The leasing team is super responsive regarding all questions and concerns, and happy to provide suggestions on a whim - like what restaurants or bars to check out, or things to do for folks new to the (Bay) Area. Nate and Julia have set the customer service bar high, I can't think of any previous landlords or leasing teams that have been as sincere and/or thoughtful. They like what they do, and they enjoy getting to know their residents. They also take suggestions to heart - you can tell they're going to build a warm and welcoming community. Shoutout to Freddy on maintenance, who is always friendly when I see him in the hallways, and makes it a point to say hello!

(Also, at my last two apartments, my dogs were constantly trying to run out the front door every time it was open. Here, they have not done that once! I think it's safe to say they love living here too!)
