Art's Corner Cafe reviews
19First time there, great breakfast and service. Although it's still in construction it's still a comfortable place to visit. I had the poached eggs, bacon, and pancakes while my son had the breakfast burger.
Quaint cafe - amazing staff and delicious breakfast menu as well as lunch. This is the neighborhood go to and it’s rather charming!
I always drive by this place at night for years and I thought it's been a shutdown business until just recently I went during the day and this place has the BEST chicken fried steak EVER! I come from Texas and this is just as good if not better than what I've had back home. Definitely come try this dish here!
My boyfriend and I stopped in this cute little spot in Ventura for a quick bite and wow! First of all, the service was amazing. Paula is the heart and soul of the place, she makes you feel right at home. The food was delicious too! The seasoned potatoes O’Brien are a must we even brought some home for my daughter. Thanks for a great place, mouth watering food and wonderful service. We’ll be back!
A very cozy setting. Food is amazing. I have had no negative experiences. Everyone is incredibly accommodating! If you get Courtney, she'll take care of you!
The food and service are amazing! The owner remembered me and my name the next time I came in!
The food was great. The service was awesome, very friendly.
The food was great and the portions were perfect.
I know this is a popular place to eat. NEW owner's in the last year. They started out strong and I was pleased. Not to so much anymore. I ordered eggs over easy and got eggs well done. The steak was the most disappointing. I ordered medium rare and got a dry rubber piece of steak. They said it was a rib eye but it was awful. I've ordered the dish with tortillas and sauce. Not sure of the correct spelling and was horribly disappointed. So im done spending my hard earned money. Also not enough staffing on Mondays. Waited for 20 plus minutes for a check and that was the second time that has happened. I hope they pull it together. I won't be back for it.
Long time customer and like the changes BUT PLEASE do something to decrease the noise level inside. It's tolerable during the week but on weekends the hard floor and bare walls amplify people's voices making everyone talk louder making the noise level intolerable. I don't want to stop eating at Arts but will no longer on weekends until this is fixed. I know other customers feel the same and I feel bad for the staff.
Came in today for the first time to have brunch with my husband for my birthday and from start to finish, the entire experience did not disappoint! Stephanie was our server and she provided such great service, which is a huge plus because good service is so hard to find nowadays. She helped me decide between the breakfast sopes and chilaquiles, and while she assured me I couldn't go wrong with either. I'm glad I ordered the breakfast sopes. You can really taste the quality of the housemade chorizo. Will definitely be conback to try the chilaquiles!
Service is second to none! Food is over the TOP! Paula, you are a gracious beauty! Courtney is amazing! - Mark Swan -
This breakfast was amazing. The staff were super friendly. I couldn't recommend enough. Good breakfast does exist in so cal. Seriously this is the spot if you want to be burping up home fries and a bloody Mary and it's not a bad thing
The new ownership of this place has brought new life to this commonly overlooked spot, the amount of from scratch items on their menu is incredible and it truly does make the difference. Of all the breakfast stops in ventura this is not one you'll want to miss out on.
I usually don't go in for sweets for breakfast but had to try the cinnamon roll french toast and am so happy I did because even though I've never had kids or a religious experience I feel like this would have them both beat by the sheer joy and wonder I felt.
Excellent breakfast. Nice people. Wonderful service. All for reasonable prices. Highly recommended and will be back!
THIS WONDERFUL NEW OWNER HAS SURPRISED US ALL HERE IN THE BEAUTIFUL CITY OF VENTURA CA.
YOU MUST COME AND ENJOY THEIR DELICIOUS FRESH FOOD. AND ALSO THE WARM AND FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE THAT WE ALL HAVE BEEN LOOKING FORE IN STARTING OUT OUR WONDERFUL NEW DAY AND DAYS!
***** THIS NEW OWNER AND THEIR ENTIRE STAFF IS SO COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY IN THEIR DEDICATION FORE THEIR COMMUNITY THAT THEY LIVE IN AND THAT THEY SERVE. WHICH IS THE ASSET IN BRINGING OUR COMMUNITY BACK TOGETHER AS A FAMILY.

I had the chicken fried steak. Very good. Hash browns were good as well, substantial wheat toast with good jam! Waitress was friendly and attentive.
Loved how friendly our waiter was. The breakfast portions are big and more than enough. We forgot our to-go box and the waiter was kind enough to chase us down in the parking lot and bring it to us. Excellent service. Highly recommended.
Good service, great place, only problem is their chicken fried steak was one of the toughest, grizzled piece of meats ever! Wish the new owners good luck and ill still be back.
Art's used to be a quaint, Southern California, beach-surf-locals, kind of cafe. Covering the walls were the period-correct, obligatory County Fair-style drawings of all the old-school local heroes, and red vinyl covered booths that were cramped, but still comfy.
You felt like the booth was snuggling with your whole family.
Art's was the quintessential family cafe.
Now, all of that charm is gone leaving stark white walls, cheap lighting and entrees that have doubled in price. The menu has been parred down and is as sterile as is the new interior.
The food is average at best, service is good enough, but the ambience is painfully missing.
I miss my old friend Art.
