Excellent experience moving into Atlas Apartments! The leasing team that specifically includes Robby Higgs, Leasing Manager, Rechel Williams, Leasing Professional, and Amadi. The General Manager, Jeff was available to answer questions about Atlas. The Concierge team specifically Henry, Maia and Bryan was outstanding! Even the Atlas Garage staff was great and always demonstrated friendly customer service. Special compliments to Robby Higgs and Rechel Williams who both made the moving experience to Atlas very comfortable and enjoyable! Always available to answer questions, excellent customer service and going the extra mile to assist you throughout the leasing process. Touring Atlas property was the critical factor in my decision making. I absolutely recommend Atlas Apartments to anyone looking for a beautiful place to move in Oakland, CA downtown. The amenities were amazing! The panoramic views were spectacular!

Exceptional Leasing Experience with Milon Minor at Atlas Apartments!

I am thrilled to share my incredibly positive experience with Milon Minor, the leasing agent at Atlas Apartments. As my wife and I are currently in the process of moving in, I cannot express enough how Milon has gone above and beyond to make our leasing journey easy, comfortable, and exceptionally professional.

Right from the beginning, Milon demonstrated a keen understanding of our needs and preferences. She was not only attentive but also took the time to ensure that every aspect of the leasing process was tailored to our requirements. Her ability to provide detailed information about the property, amenities, and the surrounding community showcased her extensive knowledge and dedication to customer satisfaction.

What truly sets Milon apart is the extra mile she went to accommodate our tight schedule. Despite the limited timeframe, she graciously took the time to personally tour our daughter, making her feel welcomed and excited about our new home. Milon's warmth and genuine interest in our family's comfort eased any apprehensions we had about the move.

Throughout the entire process, Milon exhibited a level of professionalism that is truly commendable. Her prompt communication, attention to detail, and proactive approach made the leasing experience not only efficient but also enjoyable. It is evident that Milon is not just a leasing agent; she is a valuable asset to the Atlas Apartments team, embodying the qualities of exceptional customer service.

As we eagerly anticipate residing at the Atlas Apartments, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to Milon Minor for her kind and professional approach. Her commitment to ensuring our satisfaction has made this transition a positive and memorable experience. We are confident that Atlas Apartments has a gem in Milon, and we look forward to calling this community our home, thanks to her outstanding service.

Changing my rating since I wrote it when u was absolutely new to the apartment after being pressured to write a review. After living in this building for 15 months I can objectively give this place 2 stars. I'll start with the positives.
Pros:
This building is probably the best designed aesthetically pleasing building in Oakland. Amenities are top level, the views on the 41st floor is the best you'll get in Oakland.

Community events: they have a few community events and workout classes for free that's nice. First Fridays and other events allow you to meet the neighbors.

The Atlas app Is pretty active and several ppl use it as a marketplace or to learn from eachother, or make eachother aware of certain things that the building fails to do.

Cons
For such a beautiful building, you'd think safety is the number one concern. They consistently put useless safety measures in place. We are allowed a guest list and not all staff is aware of what the actual rules are. One time my friend told them he's on the guest list and it was late at night they said Atlas have no such thing and kicked him out. Mind you there is a system in place to hallow guests to your apt for emergencies if it's noted. I let management know and they said they'd follow up but never did. Another time my bf and I got robbed at gunpoint next to the building in broad daylight, we came inside and security is chilling watching something on the phone near the elevators inside. Not a single security outside in sight. I let the front desk know so I can receive the camera footage since there were 3 cameras in the area it happened they said they can only release it to police and never checked on me or followed up again.

In the 15 months I've been here maintenance hasn't been a great help, im.starting to realize that they are just there for emergency. I've had to have my dishwasher and refrigerator replaced. They other day my apt smelled like burning rubber which other residents and even front desk acknowledged the smell. It was so bad I had to leave my apt and open everything to get the fresh air out. Maintenance came and tested for gas even though I said it smelled like burning rubber and not gas. They closed the work order and never said what it was or if they found anything.

Cleanliness in the building is pretty bad. The dog park floor always smells terrible. The trash is always all over the place, sometimes the hallway carpet smells like it's damp.

Respect, some of the front desk really are helpful and respectful but there is quite a few that have an attitude to do their job or help. It makes it impossible to ask a question to certain ppl and I typically have to wait for a shift change to get help.

Neighborhood, I no longer walk my dog outside. The crime here has drastically gotten worse in 2023 and if you are on citizen app you'll understand why. If you aren't you'll still understand why. There are community programs to help keep the neighborhood sage but it seems this building is not concerned about the community.

Several ppl will tell you do mor expect to get your deposit back and I now see why. Even if there is a small scratch on the wall they'll charge you. They expect to see the place as though it is brand new. They also charge additional for cleaning. Even though I haven't experienced this part yet based on maintenance inspection where i wasnt even fully moved i expect to see something since thats what they communicated.

As a current resident at Atlas, I can confidently say that my experience thus far has been incredible. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about leasing an apartment here due to a few negative reviews I had come across online. However, after speaking with Milon, my leasing agent, all of my reservations were addressed and clarified. Milon was incredibly helpful in understanding my unique needs and preferences for an apartment. She was patient, diligent, and worked tirelessly with me to ensure I found the perfect space. I can truly say that I am more than satisfied with both Milon and my decision to call Atlas home.

Former resident and this review is overdue. I moved in 2021 and left in 2022. Great building but in an incredibly dangerous neighborhood. There are shootings on a weekly basis. Downtown Oakland and many other parts of Oakland are extremely unsafe (shootings, vandalism, car break-ins, robberies, etc.). It is cheap for a reason. You have been warned.

Pros:
Building is amazing with hot tub.
The gym is unparalleled and it is on the 41st floor.
Concierge staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
Package system is one of the best I have seen with individualized lockers.

Cons:
Really dangerous neighborhood and you cannot insulate yourself from it. You will be awakened by shootings at midnight or 2am. Shootings also happened during the day. If you value your life, you will not live there. They are always offering specials for a reason. This building as well as others in downtown Oakland are consistently dealing with higher vacancies and tenant turnover. You get lured by the amazing amenities and good deals then realize that your neighborhood is a warzone. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and I have never heard or seen that many shootings in my life. Obviously this is not the buildings fault and there is armed security and 24/7 concierge but this does not really help.

I just want to say thank you to Rechel for helping me find my dream apartment.
When I got to the office I told her that I had no place to live and I had to rent an apartment as soon as possible. Less than 24 hours and I got the apartment I wanted.
She was patient, smiling, answered all the questions and helped me.
Thanks to people like Rechel, I will recommend my friends to rent an apartment in Atlas:)

Tiffany, the AGM- she's taken care of me all along. No matter where you're at with applying or doing business, she has accommodated and attended to me right on through, treating me with both with respect and what can be recognized from me as genuine human compassion- a great touch in the world we live in today.

After living in atlas for 3 months I am here to report, this is not a luxury apartment. The elevators smell of urine all of the time and feel grimy. The common areas also have an odor and clearly are rarely deep cleaned. Attention to détails are missing. The neighborhood is very shady with feces right outside the building and people sadly sleeping on the ground. The vibe is very low. If you are considering moving here please take the time to actually walk around and experience the environment. Do not be pressured in with Rental specials. You may find it’s just not worth it. I’ve lived in luxury communities and Atlas doesn’t come close to comparing to the standard for luxury.

I am thrilled to share my exceptional experience working with Milon, the leasing agent at The Atlas in Oakland. Milon's professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail truly set her apart in the industry, making our leasing process a seamless and enjoyable journey.

From the moment we began our apartment search, Milon went above and beyond to secure our best interests. Her expertise in the rental market and commitment to understanding our specific needs ensured that we found the perfect apartment at The Atlas. Edit: I've since moved out. Was counting down the days. The apartments are filled with loud, rude neighbors who blast music, party, and throw garbage down your balcony.

They even messed up the loading dock reservation on my move out day when I had reserved nearly a month in advance.

On move out, Atlas said they would hold any packages that I was unable to get redelivered to my new address and reach out to me. This is not true.

It was incredible while it lasted, but it's not the same building that I moved in to.

Atlas is an incredible high rise apartment with great views, excellent staff, and fantastic amenities. I moved in after a friend recommended Atlas in April and I have had nothing but amazing experiences since. Atlas has been incredible about COVID mask mandates, ensuring the safety of residents, and going above and beyond even to help deliver packages and checking in on residents when greeted in the hall.

I personally want to thank Joseph who was my leasing agent for finding me my dream apartment — when I called to inquire about the apartments he immediately asked about my preferences and found the apartment I now call home. I've never lived in a place with such amazing staff to care for the residents. Atlas is an amazing space with a bustling community, a beautiful place to live.

Ignore the paid reviews of people who just moved in. 2yr current resident here.tl: dr if value your life, keep it moving, pretty place but a very rough block. If adamant about east bay go closer to Berkeley.

The Area: Buy a vest. 4 separate shootings and 1 gunpoint robbery (a couple in front of the building in daylight) in 2 weeks, all happened within blocks of the building. 3 were within a block. 2 resulted in bystander deaths. 1 involved an automatic weapon. 1 resulted in 30+ shots. Shootings are a regular occurrence. If a month goes by without a shooting close to here, it’s a miracle. There was even a murder in the building last year. If you double park your car in front of the building for 5 min, expect to get your window broken into. It’s happened to many residents in broad daylight within seconds, and front desk will tell you this too. The liability of living in this vicinity is not worth it. Also the chipotle here unfortunately sucks.

The Amenities: Great rooftop view, hot tub is nice. Study area typically empty. Since pool isn’t on the roof there isn’t sun there for most of the day, and in the bay no sun means it’s cold, so it’s only usable from like 1-4pm. The pool lounge chairs are disgusting and stained and haven’t been cleaned ever. The grill igniters are broken and haven’t been fixed in a year, but you can light it with matches.

Leasing: Pleasant when getting you to sign, shockingly unresponsive when you reach out for any issues. The fact that they respond to my review in a day but not my complaints for months is a testament to that. Haven’t seen one agent in forever who harassed my teenage sister and I’ve heard harassed other females in the building, so that’s a plus.

Front desk: the regulars who work during the day are great.

Parking Management: They run their business like a dictatorship. Towed cars for minor mishaps, fined people because a random car tailgated them into the lot, sent multiple passive aggressive emails to all parkers.

Apartments: Tower is great, podium has fruit flys on multiple floors. Trash room is overrun since there’s so many apartments packed together. Don’t let them lie to you, you hear your neighbors in the podium as it’s a wood construction. One corner has a dog that barks 24/hr when owners away at work.

Selecting Atlas was an easy decision after meeting Milon. Not only did she provide support on which apartments in atlas worked best for my needs but also provided guidance on navigating the Oakland community. I am excited to live at Atlas and grateful for the support I’ve received so far.

I flew into Oakland to view this complex and fell in love instantly. Security/Concierge is at the very front which makes me feel very secure and safe. This place is worth every penny. I would like to give a huge shoutout to Rechel W. With my extremely busy schedule, she worked with me virtually and in person to find me the perfect new home. She listened to every must have I wanted and found me the perfect floor plan! I’m excited about my new place. Rechel deserves an award and raise!
