So basically this place has gone from my favorite places I’ve lived as per the previous review to a place I literally dread on a daily basis. The front office staff used to be an asset. They were friendly, personable and fun while maintaining professionalism, they made you feel valued and people like Peggy, Franz and Later Jovan are why I renewed multiple times.

The current staff is the exact opposite. They are rude, make constant veiled threats and literally yell after you when you enter the building to confront you. They do ticky tack things like charge a 150 dollar cleaning fee for my patio because I had the gall to occasionally attempt to make use of it while they dithered. They constantly have conversations with a very “you have a nice place here, I’d hate to see something happen to it” tone.

They say things like “if you don’t do what we say we’ll disable your key fob so you can’t access the building”. Seriously, the customer service people here said that more than once. They basically threatened me with not being able to access my apartment for which I’ve been paying over 3000 in rent for month after month for years now over a dog and some forms. That’s both patently illegal until they complete eviction proceedings if they go that route and almost at a mafioso level of coercion. I ask my self time and time again “who are these people”? I own a restaurant and I don’t think I’ve ever been as rude to anyone in years no matter how unreasonable they become as these guys at AVA are rude when they’re being “nice”.

Speaking of dogs, their pet friendly stance is a outright lie. They are a very pet unfriendly community. I have a service animal living with me that helps my girlfriend get through her day with a modicum of comfort and I’ve dealt with nothing but harassment, threats and yelling from the staff, in particular Kyle who has to be the rudest customer service person I’ve met in my entire life.

The dog is nearly disabled himself, needs to be taken on walks in a cart because he’s a 15 year old bull terrier, and they sent me a harassing 3 day notice about him using the personal backyard which I pay rent for to relieve himself. At his age I’m grateful the dog can even walk out there, to threaten me if I don’t force the dog to do something he can’t is outright cruel. I tried walking through the lobby as fast as I could today only to be yelled at and forced to listen to a rant about how I needed to give my 30 day notice or else. This really was the last straw that warrants this review.

This is crazy to say now, because what I felt so strongly about this place is it had a heart. That heart was people like Peggy, Jaime and Franz, but now they’re all gone for various reasons and have been replaced by the absolute worst San Francisco has to offer. Every stereotype about the pushy, rude and boorish downtown bro rolled into a few packages. I exclude the lady who began working the front recently from this broad brush, she seems perfectly nice in a sea of outright jerks.

Beyond that there are so many shortcomings like last night a fire alarm went off with a high pitched blaring around midnight. 1 passed, then 2, then 3 and it’s still going. I went to work at 7 and still I could hear a very loud high pitched noise because they just couldn’t be bothered.

They used to let packages be delivered to the front, it was a key service, no more now they put a locker that may or may not work and is only for amazon; for anything else I guess their stance is “good luck we can’t be bothered”.

I’ve put in service requests for things like plumbing blocks and waited days with no response because, you guessed it, they couldn’t be bothered.

The great staff that really cared has been systematically replaced over time with the exact opposite. Maybe someone should yell at them out there instead of he other way around.

We are new to the city and this complex but so far it's been great. It's walking distance to restaurants and shops with public transportations near by. Management staff like Chris and Llana are always friendly and helpful; it's starting to feel like home again in this new city.

AVA is a great community to live in.we love it here. The onsite management staff are amazing and we appreciate the amenities and the conveniences of the neighborhood.

AVA is a really great place to live. My apartment is quiet with a great view. The building is clean and friendly and my favorite part is the staff. I love the guys who work in the office. They are the best and they make me smile.

The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. I had a terrible issue with my furniture delivery and the staff attempted to help me in any way possible. It was very simple to move in.

The management is horrible. Clair yells at guests like she is on some sort of prison guard power trip. Staying here reminds me of military training. If you break any rules you will hear about it with relentless emails from the staff. They ask you questions and invade your privacy about anyone you bring home. Stay here if you need parental control.

The staff at the AVA Nob Hill are incredibly friendly and always helpful. Ramon installed my shower head for me, Jaime measured my windows for me and Jovan and Franz are always willing to help me with tasks including guest parking, packages and other general questions. Everyone at this building goes above and beyond to make you feel like AVA Nob Hill is your home and community. I love living here!

I've only been living here for a few days, but so far it's been a great experience! Immediate area is good with lots of coffee shops on the block. Close to Walgreens and Trader Joe's. Relative to the city, it seems to be pretty convenient. Not too far from Union Square, Market, and BART. The staff has all been very helpful and friendly so far. Our move in experience was painless. I am splitting a studio with a roommate that's a close friend and we've been able to make the space very functional with 2 sleeping areas and a common area. So far, I would suggest AVA to others.

I am impressed and pleased with my experience at AVA Nob Hill. The management staff have been great, and I like my unit. It is quieter than I would have guessed given it's central location in the heart of the city. The outdoor common area is great amenity and the gym is well-equipped.

AVA Nob Hill has thee most friendliest staff! I cannot rave enough about all the positive encounters I've had with either upon visits, getting a tour of the property, or simply having questions pre or post application.

This review though is typically for Jerrika and Chris who are extremely dedicated, helpful, patient, hard working, and they defintely go above and beyond in their roles at AVA on the management team. I can't express how grateful I am with all their help locking down a sweet unit! I'm so happy!

It's exciting and nerve wrecking I'm sure if you're in search in a competitive market such as SF to find a living space but can't find anything to suit or accommodate your needs as a resident (. Whether it be amenities, pricing, location, convenience or etc) but Jerrika and Chris were really thoughtful with assisting me, they both did a really AMAZING job with helping me out with getting the process started and expediting it since I was on a time crunch with my lease so I wouldn't be without a home.

The location is prime, the gym is awesome, the laundry facilities are clean, the space is amazing, every thing is convenient. I could go on and on about all the positives.

The best part of the building is the staff working there. The guys at the leasing office during the day are super friendly and helpful, and just generally make your experience here a good one. The maintenance staff are responsive and friendly as well, so you're neither stuck with a problem for a few days nor a bad after taste in your mouth after haggling over something.
