Avalon Mountain View

This is purely a review of my experience with leasing agent. KC has been one of the best leasing agent I have met so far. KC helped me navigate the community and also provided additional very useful information regarding rent control.

The staff at Avalon Mountain View is the best!
KC has been so responsive to our needs, answering every question and efficiently solving all our move-in issues.
The apartment was in great shape when we moved in except for a couple of minor problems - e.g, dryer door hinge was bent, a door wouldn’t stay open, etc. George and Oscar arrived within minutes of our request and fixed everything.
Lots of apartment complexes have nice features, but the staff is the most important asset. We are so happy we rented here.

I loved living at Avalon Mountain View! The apartment managers KC and Tara were always super nice and helpful. They also regularly organized community events, and gave out roses/candy on Valentine’s day and had a wrapping station in the office for Christmas! Every week they have a food truck on site, and it’s really fun trying out different cuisine without really leaving the apartment complex. I also think the place is maintained really well, and always felt safe in the community (police station is a block or two away too!) Although I don’t have a dog, I think it’s a perk to have the option to have one. A lot of apartments in Mountain View don’t allow dogs, but I saw people walking dogs of all sizes, plus there is a dog park. The staff also recognized my wedding and gave me a gift and a card, and it made me feel really special Finally, in unit laundry and AC really sold this complex for me. I love the proximity of downtown and El Monte shopping and dining. Thank you guys, I will miss living here!

Property management is rude! Worst customer service specifically the lady I had to deal with. Didnt catch her name. Had short black hair like a buzz cut.

It is a nice place to live in with quiet and safe environment. I love my experience living in Avalon Mountain View apartment. The leasing office provided a lot of support before and during the move in process with great patience. And the maintenance team solve problems promptly and efficiently. Appreciate the office and maintenance team~

I have lived in Avalon Apartments for a year now. Staff is very responsive, efficient, and considerate. One of the best maintenance team I have experienced. Special thanks to Tara, KC, Oscar, and Myrna. Apartment is at a great location - Walking distance to downtown mountain view.

Cons: Apartment itself is a bit dated. It would be great to have double pane windows for noise reduction and newer appliances for kitchen area.

Overall, I like this community, and would recommend it to anyone.

I've had the privilege to rent an apartment here for the last 1.5 years and I've absolutely loved my stay.

The community is well-maintained and filled with greenery and varieties of flowers which is an absolute delight for any nature lover. Maintenance requests are addressed promptly. Great neighbors too!

Also, a big shout-out to the office staff (especially, KC)! They have been super friendly and always willing to help throughout my time here.

I was a resident here from 2018-2019, and just received a package delivered at this address (in 2022) and the management was nice enough to call me about it, and then upon my request send over images of the package and contents too. Great response time and very kind people too!

A lovely place to live and everyone who works for the community is absolutely wonderful and extremely helpful! It's also super pet friendly with doggy stations in many places around the grounds and a dog park:) An added benefit is that it's very close to Castro street which has restaurants and stores but is quiet, I rarely hear any road noise, despite being a 10 minute walk from Castro St

Most helpful & caring staff!

Any requests are answered quickly (more than prompt; almost comically fast) and with great care. They advocate for their residents' well-being. I have lived here just over a year, and with every request I have submitted I have always received above and beyond service. Staff is always friendly and waves or says hello. Happy to live here!

A quick example with the promptness. I emailed the property manager, Tara, this morning regarding a couch I wanted to get rid of via the city's charged service. I put no timeline regarding response. Within no more than 5 minutes, the maintenance supervisor & technician, Geo & Oscar, were at my door to get a size up of the couch. They advised they could have it taken care of the very next morning (a Saturday!).

This is the best apartment experience I have ever had. It's priced really competitively with other complexes in the area, but when you look at the amenities, safety/crime & overall living experience, you'll see it's well priced under market value.

Great place to stay at, especially if you catch their new year deal! Maintenance resolved all issues, office was responsive to questions and got maintenance to come and check issues same day or next day. Amazon lockers were a plus.

Living here for several years and overall a positive experience. Staff is always friendly and willing to help to find a good solution to issues that arise. The maintenance team, headed by Geo, is prompt, friendly and always hard-working. A pet-friendly place within walking distance to downtown.

I’ve lived at Avalon Mountain View for several months now, and I love it! Our initial interest appointment/tour was fantastic and welcoming, and we were able to see the actual available units rather than a staged model. The staff has continued to be just as wonderful as they were during the application process - especially KC, Tara, and the entire maintenance team. They regularly set up fun community events and bring food trucks every Thursday! The team is always super friendly and helpful when answering questions, and maintenance requests are taken care of promptly (even non-urgent ones such as a patio power wash)!

The apartment itself is spacious and renovated while still being a reasonable price. There are lots of opportunities to make it feel like home - we can paint accent walls and plant whatever we want in the patio garden boxes! The grounds are beautiful and there’s a nice pool, fire pit, gym, and Amazon hub. The complex is about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown Mountain View, which is great on the weekends.

Overall, it’s a great place to live, and I highly recommend it!

I've been living at Avalon for 9 months now, and this has to be the best apartment complex I've ever lived at. It's peaceful, safe, close to downtown, and has an amazon hub locker and designated parking spots! The apartments themselves are spacious, clean, and the walls are thick enough to keep out noise from neighbors AND the Caltrain. My unit (1st floor) also has an AC and a washer/dryer. They allow pets, and I often see residents meeting up in unofficial dog park at the back of the complex.

The team here really goes out of their way to make residents feel at home. In fact, my first interactions with the team (especially KC and Tara) was one of the big deciding factors for me when I was touring apartments. After I moved in, I was excited to find out that a different food truck comes every Thursday! They also have raffles once in a while, and even a free gift-wrapping station around Christmas.

I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking to live in the Mountain View area!

We’ve lived at Avalon Mountain View for 3 years and have been very happy here - the staff has been responsive and quick when there are any issues, and it’s super dog-friendly, a plus for our dog!

The maintenance team and office staff at Avalon Mountain View are the best! Reported problems with our washing machine on Tuesday and by Thursday a new one was installed. George and Oscar are always on point. Friendly, personable, and always delivers top priority service with a smile on their face. And my fur babies love when Mr George comes around because they know he has treats for them in his pocket. Such a sweet and gentle soul he has. Thank you so much for making living at Avalon a joy.

I just wanna say that the staff, KC and Tara, are great. They're personable and nice. They're really prompt and friendly when answering calls and emails. They know me by name even though we've only met a few times briefly. They hold my packages when I'm late to pick them up. Over the holidays, they set up a free gift wrapping station and also held a photo contest/raffle. They sent us (the winners) a gift basket of cheese and olives and the cutest handwritten card. I've never had a good landlord before, so I tend to try and fix my own problems - but so far, the team here has been really nice and prompt about our maintenance requests. It makes me feel a lot more comfortable about asking for help, and I think that's really important.
On that vein, let me list a few less-obvious facts to someone who might be looking to live here. The insulation is great. Our unit is directly next to the CalTrain tracks, and it's dead silent as long as the windows are shut. I've also rarely heard our neighbors through the walls and, even then, barely. Our unit has really good heat retention. I've never run out of hot water in the shower. The maintenance team regularly clean the common areas, like the garbage area, and they do a good job. The sewage has never backed up.
As for cons, there are only a few. The complex is absolutely a dead zone for cellular. There are occasional silverfish. Doordashers get lost sometimes. There are no electric car ports. One of the electrical outlets is kind of wonky and not grounded. The smoke detector is kind of sensitive (either that, or the stove fans aren't that effective).
