Avoid if possible! There are better options in the area at similar costs.

When we moved in the unit was dirty and had lots of problems with doors (bad quality). I took pictures of it so when I moved out they would not try to rip me off.

During our stay we had to call maintenance several times for diverse problems so don’t expect good qualities in these units. They are cheap.

Also consider your deposit to be lost - they will no refund as they will charge you for whatever bs they can think of: cleaning fee, painting, they might blame on u defects on the unit, etc. Take this into account disregarding what they tell you when moving in!

Bad management, many times unresponsive, low quality units, keep deposit for no reason, rents are high for what you get, now the noise from the highway gets worse since they took out some amazing trees that were there before so train can pass by, etc. Why would u move to these apartments? No reason!

When I first moved in the apartment had fleas. The walls were paper thin and rent ridiculous. They were nice so I was still going to give them a decent review however as it has been nearly a month since I moved out and they have still not returned my deposit or the rent I overpaid (despite telling me the LATEST I would receive it was threw 3rd of July) and they have been far from helpful in person and unreachable over the phone, I will insist you NEVER consider Avana La Jolla unless you like fleas, hearing all the dialogue of your neighbor's TV show, and being scammed out of $1000-$2000.

Initially, I was going to give one star to this place. I am a student who have lived in this place over a year. Fortunately, they made a very smart decision which fired their manager. New manager is much better than before. Their place is very old, which requires many things to change and upgrade.their price is not competitive with those conditions. Now, I have changed a place to live in this area.

Just moved in the apartment in Avana and found there are couple of things need to fix, the management of Avana has very quick response and come to my room get those things fixed. This is really appreciated. By the way, my pool view room is really a nice one, I love it.

It has been a year and a half since I moved into Avana La Jolla with my husband. While the proximity of the property to UCSD, premium healthcare facilities, and major San Diego corporations is a key advantage, the efforts and amenities provided by the property management team should not be overlooked.

We truly feel the efforts of key Avana team members are equally important to the well being and safety of the apartment community as the location. We understand retaining upstanding tenants and top residential staff talent in the apartment complex will be key to exceeding the expectations of future community members.

That being said, we are truly thankful to have worked with Michael Earick. His professionalism, perspective, and attentiveness brought a great deal of reassurance to myself and my wife. The actions of guests and other tenants are never completely within the control of a property management team, but Michael and the Avana staff's ability to tackle issues that arose in a timely fashion are commendable. We cannot thank Michael enough for his time, efforts, and genuine consideration throughout our stay at Avana La Jolla in making the community a better place to live.

Residents and staff both acknowledge the property is not the most recently developed so we hope the unit pricing is reviewed with respect to other community options. We hope that our feedback is welcomed and that the Avana La Jolla team continues to provide high levels of service for many years to come.
