Avila Beach Golf Resort

A fine place to enjoy a concert. More often than not, cooler than SLO, and if you are lucky you get some high fog to keep the sunburn at bay.

Course has great views and nice cool weather, although conditions of greens as well as fairways are not up to par at all. Nevertheless after booking a round and driving 2 hours to the course I was told I would have to pay 88$ for a rider due to the reason they are too lazy to have a marshal on the course. (The courses website also failed to warn about riders and when calling for booking the round the person working the pro shop also failed to notify me of anything).

A truly terrible golf course.

Anyone traveling to beautiful Pismo Beach / SLO… spending 6 hours on this excuse for a golf course is the last thing you should do while in town.

Just a brutal layout, gimmicky, and in terrible shape overall. No Marshall. Pace of play would have been over 6 hours if we didn’t skip 4 holes.

What a bust! So disappointed with this course it has such great memories from years past. Best two holes 10,18 closed due to a concert at night? They were replaced with two rinky dink par 3 s Someone should have given us a heads up (though it was supposedly noted on website) felt like we were playing at an amusement park.
A wood board is softer than the fairway. Greens were in fair shape but just not the ole Avila. Need to focus on getting back to golf not a concert venue

Went to Mulligan's Bar and Grill in next to Avila Beach Golf Course. Then I will say it has the most beautiful view and very clean and quie.

Traveled from out of town for a couples weekend. Had to pay full prices for my wife to join as a ride, and to top it off the course conditions were terrible. As a high handicap player I do not expect much on the course. Terrible course.

Fun, but the course doesn't show all of the rain from the past year. We played 18 and made it fun. I would reccommend getting there early. Our cart ran out of juice at the 5th, but a simple call to the Pro Sop, and all was fixed. Great Service! Overall, just expect grounds like a muni, and be suprised at the challenges in front of you.

Nice course and restaurant close to the beach. Live entertainment on Sunday as well as certain nights during the week. You just pick a spot on the lawn and enjoy the music. The restaurant has good food and drinks. Very casual. You order your food and you can eat in or outside on the lawn. Lots of chairs, some firepits. It makes for a fun and leisurely afternoon.

Need more parking lots, to accommodate at least 85% of the visitors this beautiful place get during summer

I grew up in SLO and played TONS of golf here in high school. I moved many years ago, but was so excited to return a couple weeks ago and play 'my home course. '

Well when I arrived I was surprised to see the old practice green I spent hours on turned into a party zone. The practice green is now behind the first tee. The course was in absolutely horrible shape. The fairways hadn't been mowed in days, #2 is a senseless par 4, bridges were damaged and washed away on 4 & 5, sand was piled in bunkers throughout the course with weeds growing in the piles which tells me they have been there a while. I could go on and on.

Looks like the owner is way more into parties than golf.but it is a golf resort? I don't know. Overall it was just a huge disappointment.

The mac and cheese festival was good. Great handicap access for my dad and his walker. Staff was very accommodating.

I so wanted to love this place, but wow! The layout is cool, but since it seems that they do NOT keep up the course conditions, at all. As such it's not surprising that on course directions are none exist, on the very confusing back 9. Weeds, on the fairways, rockhard, and the grass that is there is dead.the bunkers were either, "ground under repair " or weed filled cement. The greens, they'd been punched about a week ago, can't complain. What a waste of a possible destination course.
