Avis Car Rental reviews
9Picking up the rental car went well and the service was great. When I dropped my car off I was hit by another rental car (while I was outside of the car) and they insisted I not call the police and had no clue what to do. It was quite ridiculous their lack of knowledge on a situation like that. The driver did not have insurance and Avis wouldn’t give me any of her information.
Very easy and comfortable car pickup same as car return. New automotive park. Reasonable price compare to other rentals. Highly recommend this one if renting in LAX Airport (USA).
Fast and friendly service. So easy to get a car and be on your way. I arrived early for my last rental and just popped in to see if I could get my car early and was out of there in a flash. Get rental company and people!
I already put a code in to pick up a car for work. I got their and said I needed more proof. I don’t need proof I already paid online. Place is a joke.
Everything is great unless you have an issue. Keys got locked in trunk and Avis' only option was to tow my car to an undisclosed location with my laptops, wallet, medicine and suitcases full of items. I have called for days trying to get someone to help and no one can assist. As a loyal customer for years this is truly not the service I expected from you!
The office at LAX has charged me twice. Two separate charges show up on my credit card statement, and the second one is higher than the actual amount that I first paid. Why have I been charged twice? More than $1,100 for a two-day car rental? Ridiculous!
Agent who checked me out was great! He gave me a free upgrade:)! I was in and out quickly at check out and check in. Car was great. I compare this to my car rental experience with Hertz—it took 4 hours! That was in the summer, but I checked reviews recently and they have the same issue. I will be using Avis if I need to rent a car in the future.
From the start, there was only one shuttle bus between Avis and LAX. We waited for half an hour before the bus came and only two more people were able to get on before it was full. We waited another full hour for the bus to still not arrive, so we hopped on a different company’s bus who offered to drive us to Avis if we tipped the driver, and after waiting for so long it seemed like a good deal. When we finally arrived at Avis we were able to check in and get to see our car we rented. We popped open the back door and the first thing that we see is an old container of sauce from the previous renter’s food, still full. It was clear the car wasn’t cleaned. This is dangerous especially in covid times. We were able to check out a different car which didn’t seem to be cleaned either, but it was a little better. It was a stressful experience and I wouldn’t recommend renting with Avis for anyone else.
