B & C Ace Home & Garden Center reviews
16Easy parking, big inventory, well-organized, good selection of many items. Best of all the staff is SO friendly and helpful.
I really like this hardware store very much however, I hope the customers are treating their employees well. I have noticed recently, that many of the employees don’t seem to be happy they’re not smiling they look extremely serious and like it’s a chore to be there. I’m wondering if they are working too many hours, if the customers are not treating them well. I don’t know what it is but they seem miserable. Not all of them, in spite of that I really like this hardware store, their inventory is great and when I have asked for help, (some) employees have really gone over and beyond to help, others not so much.
Always busy as there's limited options in the area but they usually have what you need
This store has everything at great prices. The friendly service makes it a joy to be there. Unheard of in most other hardware stores.
"Ace is the Place"
Well stocked home and garden supply with ample in between. A decent lighting department. Nice selection of BBQ's. All pretty standard stuff. Seems to have comparable pricing to the rest of the County but definitely better than some.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff willing to help you find what you need as well as make suggestions about alternatives. I don’t have much carpentry experience, but went in with a rough idea of what I was looking for. The associates in the lumber area and screw/ nail area were so helpful and kind. It’s really nice to be able to ask the experts questions and not feel like an idiot or that they are talking down to you. I had an awesome experience!
Nice store with a selection of different household accessories and tools to make jobs easier. Picked up my Christmas Minnie Mouse blow up for the house
They had one welded wire fence in the system. They charged me for 2 and that is really bad service for a customer overcharging them when in your system it only says 1 and they are overpriced.
I can usually find what I need. Not always the best price but it's a small town shop. Some of their folks seem to think gender determines intelligence so on a few occasions I've had to swap out what I was talked into buying for what I had intended to buy in the first place.
Love it! Always amazing service and extremely well stocked. Their plants are looking usually very sad and are expensive too but that's literally my only complaint.
B&C is my neighborhood store, and I shop there regularly, although I rarely seem to be there on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, which are senior discount days! The very fact that they offer those discount days speaks to the rural style of the store.
The stock is surprisingly complete, the store is clean and well organized, and the prices are reasonable. Most of the staff are very friendly, and they have good expertise. Some of the older men who have worked there a long time can be a touch patronizing, but if you persevere they have knowledge to help you make the right purchase.
There are two other hardware stores close by, but I keep going back to B&C. But those crotchety old guys cost them that 5th star.
Edited 2022: Distinct increase in younger staff, much more helpful attitudes. Fifth star unlocked
Their prices seem to be a little on the high side but, they do have good selections and their location makes them more convenient than anywhere else.
I’ve been coming here for 20+ years and the customer service is consistently terrible. Not only do most the employees look like they’re having a terrible day, the manager Ben and returns desk Deborah, are both incredibly disrespectful. Today I narrowed down a bbq that folds and packs up and was ready to buy it. So I wanted to see how it folded… seems normal. Since it’s the display, I undid the latch and went to fold it as marketed, and Deborah ran up and started yelling, “did someone allow you to do this, stop touching our displays, your not supposed to fold it. ” Followed up by Ben (Store a manager) saying, “I’m the manager and whatever I say goes, don’t touch our bbq’s. ” - First of all, terrible management and disrespect towards your customer. Ben, I was just about to purchase a $500 bbq and your power trip drove me away. Your employees aren’t happy with how you manage and I’m speaking up, simple as that. Maybe next time offer assistance or put a sign out that clearly says that you don’t want someone to fold your folding barbecue. I’m not even sure how you would purchase something without actually seeing how it folds. The small town narrowminded manager is getting old. I wish people would go somewhere else but we don’t really have other options and they know it. B&C has lost its charm. Ben’s had his day, time to find someone that isn’t unhappy with their job. Sorry to anyone that works hard and is respectful because there are many employees in there that are. I hope you all find the positive in your day.
I love ACE Hardware stores. They are always filled with so many different things you don't usually find at other stores. I could spend hours walking throughout and still not see everything.
Definitely the place to come to when you are in need of something.
Today I Brought my vacuum in because it had broken (that I had bought about 4 and a 1/2 months ago). The manager (I should have gotten his name), But he was so nice he allowed me to return it once we pulled up the receipt on the computer.it was very easy and a very pleasant experience and I couldn't be happier. Great customer service! I need to find out his name (manager Who usually works in the lumber department, you're awesome! Thank you!)
We typically shop at Ace, but I was recently lured to a competitor because they sent us a $10 off coupon. What a waste of time that was! The competitor’s prices were astronomically higher for the same product (like 50% more) and on top of that they wouldn’t allow me to use the coupon because it had my husband’s name on it. (Even though I had a military ID showing both of our names.) I left and went back to Ace where I found reasonable prices, a better selection, and great customer service. I won’t make the mistake of going elsewhere anymore!
