Baba's Kitchen Mediterranean reviews
14This is the best authenic Middle Eastern food in the Conejo Valley. The service is premier and the atmosphere is genuine. My husband and I visit Baba's Kitchen as a real treat. Dine in or take out its one of the best cuisine secret in Thousand Oaks.
Ate here recently and it was very nice! The food was absolutely delicious I got the beef shawarma pita sandwich and there was so much flavor and it was a nice big portion! It was the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The servers were also very kind and the service was very good! The atmosphere is also very nice and peaceful and overall being here was the best experience I have been had at a restaurant before!
Top notch food. This place is a jewel in the area. I enjoyed the family owned and operated environment. Everyone was friendly and considerate.
The best taste in the game, Pakistani, Indians, Srilankans and Bangladeshis should visit the place.
I have been going to this restaurant for many years and the food has always been top quality. They have vegan and vegetarian options. I was there with a party of 6 last week and we all enjoyed our food very much.
I found this place by luck! Talking to a Lebanese lady in the post office, she recommended this place. Went to check it out and it’s seriously the best Middle Eastern food I’ve ever had! And I’ve tried quite a few Middle Eastern places in the past. Very unassuming place, looks like it’s run by a family who really knows how to cook! They even had clam chowder one day as a special and it was really good. Recommend 100%.
Service was quick.
Food was bad. Falafel is the only thing that was better than other items.
Restaurant was not clean and there were tiny flies flying all around.
A little "shotgun" restaurant in an established older shopping center. Owners have a friendly, wicked, wit about them. Wife and I had a chicken and a beef shwarma. Very flavorful and well prepared. Best. Hummus. I've ever had. This has probably become our new go-to when we come to Newbury. The food and owners take the edge off the drive from San Diego. Nice Chai too.
Excellent food! I love the all the shawarma here, especially salmon and chicken. Terrific lentil soup. Best hummus I've ever had from any restaurant. Even the side salad and vegetables are on point. One of the few places without alcohol that I go out of my way for, lol.
Bottom line: as long as you have functional taste buds, you'll be glad you went!
Update Feb 2023 - still delicious. Had the chicken shawarma salad. Could only eat half! Generous portions. My lunch companion had the lamb skewer plate. They're wonderful. She took half fine, too!
I stop for lunch when visiting Newberry Park. Great food, service and family-owned restaurant!
Been coming this place for over a decade. I get the falafel and Turkish coffee almost every time. Salmon Shawarma and Lamb Hummus Alakafak are my two favorite entrees. Salmon Shawarma are more like filet strips than shaved pieces which keeps them tender.
I've been going to Baba's for a couple years now. I stumped in there while grocery shopping one day.
Friendly staff, they are all related - so nice family business.
I grab a lentil, clam chowder, or creamy chicken something rather made with yogurt and has lemon. It's my favorite, but I can't pronounce it. Lol.
I live close by, so it's super convenient form me on my way home from work.
The food is just delicious and the price is quite affordable (lunch time). I will continue to go back every chance I get. The salmon kabob plate is a favorite of mine.
Right next to the smart and final. Small restaurant but quality food. Best part it’s Family owned.
