Babycakes Hillcrest

I ordered a cake from Babycakes in Hillcrest and I couldn’t be happier with the cake. It was probably the best tasting cake I’ve eaten. I requested a special decoration on the cake over the phone and they did a beautiful job with only my verbal description, no picture. Thank you so much Babycakes! I will definitely be back.

I ordered a custom cake for my sister’s birthday, and it was amazing! Communication with the bakery was easy and quick, and the cake was exactly how I wanted it! Price matched quality:)

We have been here numerous times and the cupcakes have been delicious. Staff is very friendly. Although we have tried many flavors, our favorite is Salted Caramel; other favorites include Pistachio, Oreo and Tres Leches. Came texture is perfect (not dry at all) and the icing is addicting.

Went here on a rainy day and they made us smile and delivered us some sunshine. Their flavors are awesome, we ordered 3 cupcakes and they were all great - chocolate peanut butter, chocolate fudge, and carrot cake. We only asked for three but when we got home my wife found 4 in the box with the extra one being Oreo. They must have been generous around Christmas time or saw my wife on crutches since she just had hip surgery two days ago and decided to go the extra mile which we greatly appreciate and made our day since we ended up having company for dinner with one more person it worked out perfectly! Can’t thank them enough! The cupcakes were light and fluffy, icing was dense but not too sugary and heavy. They had a wide variety of flavors and were very speedy! We wouldn’t hesitate to order again either personally or for a corporate event/birthday. I only have a picture of what’s left since we ate them all so fast

Giving 4 star here since we did not get a vegan cupcake the day we went. They usually serve some vegan options, but forgot to make a batch the day we went. Definitely worth going though as there are many cupcake options.

Cupcakes looked good frosting was really good, however the cake part was very dry and not tasty. Very disappointed especially since they were expensive

My ex really likes their blood orange cupcakes and I'm working on my good karma for fall sooooo I picked her up a couple.frosting is bland. Cake is moist

We hired Babycakes to provide a small cake and cupcakes for our wedding. We taste-tested several times by ordering cupcakes to share with family and friends before our big day. We selected a variety of flavors to serve at our reception (i.e. Marble Bianca, Blood Orange, Chocolate Decadence, Red Velvet & Classic Wedding). Everything turned out beautifully and our guests loved the flavors! Cassie and the team were super responsive and detail-oriented which ensured a successful delivery day-of. Would highly recommend them for your next treat or big event!

Bought a dozen cupcakes to celebrate a bride to be! Each one was a different flavor and they were all so delicious to share.

The staff are always friendly and willing to offer their recommendations! Their cakes are constantly changing so there is almost always something new to try.

I tried babycakes after passing it a few times and it was wonderful! The buttercream on my cupcake (the funfetti) was light, fluffy and whipped whereas most buttercreams I’ve tried are really heavy and oily. The cake its self was spongey and moist but not heavy or dense. The cupcake overall was also aesthetically pleasing for its presentation and I personally like the size of the cake. Its on the larger size but I think its more bang for your buck. I definitely recommend and I think they have vegan options as well.

Wheelchair accessible with parking and a ramp up to the building! The employees here are so friendly and wonderful! LGBT+ friendly, of course. Dog friendly, also. They have inside as well as outside seating, and the cupcakes are delicious! They also have drinks (coffees and tea), a few cookies, and muffins. A single cupcake is $4.50, which is reasonable for how beautiful they all are!

So many delicious cupcake flavors to choose from and you can get beer or wine with your dessert! Love the chandeliers!

Everything was perfect.i ordered a carrot cake for my husbands 60th birthday.needed to have it delivered to our venue.called baby cakes and sent them some suggestions.communication from the very beginning was stellar.top notch service.cake was delivered on time.cake was super fresh and delicious! Ordered carrot cake and it was outstanding.taste was fab, super moist, and the decoration was perfect.i couldn’t have asked for a better experience

Exceeded my expectations. Their gluten free cupcakes were not only delicious but were of decent size. My order was delivered as promised and the customer service did not disappoint. Highly recommended.

I was just looking for a place to have something to eat and then I ended up finding this incredibly place in Hillcrest. I felt quite welcomed when I walked in and the cakes are amazing! I tried a red Velvet cupcake and I love it! Very smooth and not too sweet. I also had a piece of tiramisu that was also very good!
This is a kind of coffee place thar have my attention.light, clean and organized. Ideally for a quick bite or even to hang out with friends. I highly recommend this place for everyone.

Had a baby shower for my son and daughter in law. They were delicious.perfect for the occasion!

This is a cafe that has really delicious cupcakes! After pondering for a while at the counter about what to eat, my friend and I chose one each of Vanilla Fudge and Chocolate Fudge and ordered one. The Vanilla Fudge was really, really delicious, but I personally liked the thicker, richer Chocolate Fudge more! The cupcake itself wasn't very soft, but it felt a little moist and a little soft. Anyway, it was sweet and so delicious!

For drinks, I had an iced Americano and my friend had a warm latte. The coffee here is generally strong, unlike the bland coffee in the US. It’s a perfect combination of strong coffee and sweet cupcake

We were in town for just a day to help celebrate our daughter's birthday, and went to Babycakes on Hillcrest because of the reviews as well as the location so close to the San Diego airport.

The service was awesome. A very warm welcome as soon as we entered, and very courteous and helpful advice on choosing the cupcakes we would take with us. The two people made us feel like we were at a neighborhood bakery that was in *our* backyard. And the cherry-on-top was that we found that they had tossed in two extra cupcakes without letting us know (found out when our daughter opened the box)!

$4.50 each for the beautifully decorated not-so-small cupcakes was a very reasonable price, and the warmth with which we were served was priceless!
