Babycakes Imperial Beach reviews
14I loved the original baby cakes I went to in Hillcrest over a year ago. Then I moved to Imperial Beach and they have a baby cakes as well and I realized I moved into heaven. The staff is very courteous and very willing to help you choose the cupcake of your choice. I highly recommend it
Cupcakes: Hit or Miss.
I recently visited this coffee shop/cupcake place and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The ambience of the shop is nice if you're looking for a relaxing time, but the service can be hit or miss depending on who's working.
However, I was disappointed with the quality of the cupcakes and cookies. I've visited the shop three times in the past three months, and each time the cupcakes have been crumbly and dry. It seems that there is too much flour and not enough butter in the recipe, which affects the texture of the baked goods.
On the positive side, the coffee is good and the atmosphere of the shop is cozy and welcoming. However, it's worth noting that there are no restrooms available.
Overall, while the coffee shop/cupcake place has some positives, the inconsistent service and poor quality of the baked goods are areas for improvement. I hope the shop can take feedback into account and work on these issues for a better experience in the future.
Absolutely incredible business! 10/10 flavor/treats and 10/10 staff/service.
We crave them on vacation every year when we visit, and this year my wife found out she’s allergic to gluten.
I called and 10 minutes later I’ve got half a dozen GF cupcakes coming to IB at 3pm tomorrow for us for $33.
Seriously blown away by this business! Keep up the great work everyone!
Cute spot to grab a couple of sweets. We ate our cupcakes before I could gather a picture but they looked exactly as pictured before. I had the lemon cupcake and my husband had the carrot cake cupcake. They were flavorful and moist. The icing was delightful. This establishment is handicapped accessible and easily accessed by sidewalk. Close to many shops and diners in the heart of Imperial Beach.
The greatest dessert in 30 mile radius. Carrot cake just like Moms, Everything here is delicious with love. Staff is beyond amazing, caring, and helpful. Great place order a half-dozen you won't regret it. Coffee game is good too!
Vegan cupcakes! What a delight to discover this little bakery. Amoung the traditional range of lovely cakes, i was so delighted to see both a vegan choc choc cupcake and red velvet. Bought one of each. Moist, great flavor. Delightful!
Not just a pretty face, they're flavorful and moist. We ordered the sprinkle, chocoholic, and blood orange. They were all great flavors and were big enough to share without anyone getting mad. Sent a picture to a friend to make her super jealous.
Delicious cakes and mini cupcakes.we celebrated my daughter's birthday @ the Imperial beach and bought 2 dozens of mini cupcakes with 4 different yummy flavors. Good coffee as well.
Nice location almost on the beach. Not sure what the fishy smell was. I didn’t think it smelled around Imperial Beach. We ordered a few cupcakes, a blueberry muffin and a caramel Latte with a couple shots of expresso. The blueberry muffin I thought would be a disappointment with no blueberries…wrong. It was made with fresh blueberries and they all sank to the bottom of the muffin. It was great. Full of berries. The latte was made fresh and had a nice kick to it. The cupcakes were great. We will return to try different locations.
I seen this little bakery a while back and tried it
The tres leches cupcake wasnt that great but I figured maybe it was not the right humidity to bake in so I decided why not give it a try my son wanted cupcakes. So I went inside an bought a Tres Leche and a Boston Creme. I was disappointed. Great presentation but, the cupcakes tasted like they freeze them. The tres leches needed more leches to it it was kinda dry definitely was just the same as the first time i tried it and the boston creme one was okay but even my 6 year old didn't like it.
That says ALOT to me. Guess I'll keep searching for a bakery near us.
They have a good variety of flavors of cupcakes and you can get a drink or a coffee here too. I like the tres leches cupcake, very moist.
My friend and I were so excited to try this, however, we ended up disappointed. She ordered a chocolate/vanilla cupcake and while it looked amazing, it only took her a few bites before she said “I think this was frozen - it’s dry, flavorless, and the middle is almost frozen. ”: (When we walked in the door that afternoon, the person working the counter did mention that the “cupcakes were delivered” earlier, which suggests that they aren’t baked fresh there, but rather refrigerated/frozen and delivered from someplace else. Sadly, my friend threw away half of her $4+ cupcake. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend.
Small, but the cupcakes are delicious and the woman working the store was friendly. Would like a bigger selection.
Celebrating a bday at the beach and forgot the cake. These cup cakes are better then any cake I could have purchased at any grocery store right by the beach!
