Baja Fish Mart, Inc. reviews
15It's passable, fish tacos are delicious and cheap, it will take a long time! One ceviche and 3 fish tacoa about 20-30min ceviche is sure already made as it will take 10min per taco and I don't even fill the place.
So let me say this the food there is okay. You don't know who's the manager because nobody's wearing name tag. And the one server says she's the Manager and she don't even really know the menu. Then she said her husband is the other manager. So basically, it's running by a husband and wife. Her lack of customer service it's wack. So when I ask for extra sauce? Cause I got all this food and 2 sauce. And they want me to pay for extra sauce. I will not be going back any more I was a value customer, but not anymore. They need to Hire people that speak English well. And better employees.
Really good fish dinner. Mostly tilapia on their menu. I had Haitian style marinated in spices then deep fried. Came with rice, beans salad and tortillas. It was delicious! Had a lot of bones in it but some fish does. My waitress spoke English which in this area is hit or miss. They had 2 different kinds of hot sauce I never had. The black hot sauce was fantastic! I didn't even try the other one. I'm very pleased with my meal here. I'll come here again. The only downside is 90% of their fish is tilapia. They did serve salmon. I want to find some cat fish. They also had oysters and octopus. I recommend this place. My food was perfectly prepared
I ordered the zarandeado fish by phone and they told me it was 12.89, I had looked at the sign that said the 10.99 special for zarandeado fish and I thought the price went up and when I paid it was 18.89 I told him that it said another price on the sign and he said there is There is no such fish I paid with a 20 bill and he returned 60 cents and I told him that he gave me the wrong change and he stayed for 5 minutes looking at the screen the fish was salty and boy! I'm not coming back.
I went to this little place for some seafood I order a taco and a tostada the food was excellent and fresh. I randomly asked the lady at the counter if they sold any bean tostadas but she said no but still offer me an option of buying a side of beans and gave me extra tostadas on the side that was a very good customer service and she was very sweetv. I would recommend this place for their customer service and really good food and freshness!
I have been several times recently at the Baja Fish Mart. I am not impressed either by the quality of food or the service.
I ordered Tacos estilo Gobernador and the tortillas were soggy, causing the tacos to fall apart on my plate.
Some other time I ordered a campechano seafood cocktail, which included oyster (ostiones) according to the menu. Mine has nothing but octopus and shrimp. When I asked about the oyster, they told me they did not have that day. It was early in the day and if I knew about the no oysters campechano, I would have probably ordered something different. I felt cheated.
The service was not that good either. We had to keep waving to the servers for a while before they acknowledged our request for silverware and limes.
I do not recommend this place, unless you are out of options for seafood. I would rather go to the Food Truck selling seafood next to the Iris Trolley station.
Excellent flavor and portions, price might be a little higher than other eateries in the area but very well worth it. Added bonus they have takeout and mini fish market for folks that want fresh filets to cook at home. Very attentive, knowledgeable and overall good service. Just want to point out that specials outside of restaurant aren't respected and maybe conveniently out of date.
Where do I begin. I only come for the fish tacos because I haven't had a good experience with the other dishes. Today there is only one waitress and she runs around serving all the people, collecting money, etc. Today I ordered aguachile toast and the shrimp was chewy and smelled old, it didn't have any chili flavor at all. We didn't even finish the aguachile toast. I'll only come for the fish tacos.
Very tasty dishes. It was worth the wait, as it was little understaffed for a saturday. Other than that albondigas are the.
The food was alright. What gives this place the two stars is the lack of communication from the server. First of all, the menu has soft drinks with refills and bottled soda which cost much more and have no refills. I ordered a soda and the waitress brought a bottled soda. I explained that I wanted the one with the refills, she said that wasn't available anymore. What REALLY made me dislike this place is the 4% surcharge at the end! There is NOTHING on the menu or anywhere posted about this phantom surcharge. Supposedly it's to "defray the rising costs of operations" and support the workers wages. This is absurd and ridiculous! It's a hidden fee to the consumer instead of raising the prices on the menu. See the photo attached. This, to me, is legal robbery. The owners should be ashamed of themselves!
Review from a foodie right here!
Food was good, but was expecting better. Would I come back? No, food was not spectacularly tasting, the tacos are good but it leaves your taste buds looking for that over the edge taste. That wow moment where you say “I’ll come back for more of this” The Aguachile was very spicy as it should be, but it was also lacking some taste buds wow moment.if your looking for some delicious Baja style food in this part of town, try Oyster Bar in Bonita instead.
The food is good but it took them a long time to bring us the food and even longer to take the bill.
Love this place! Best fish tacos in SD County!
Service is always fantastic and friendly.
3 star only because of the wait time to get our food. Fish tacos were good & tasty, but waited over 30 minutes just for 3 tacos & it wasn't that busy. Maybe, they were short staffed? (Cook)
Seafood Restaurant, the menu has options for seafood tacos, dishes such as shrimp, chicken, fish and sauces to accompany them; My choice was shrimp culichi (ancho chili sauce with cheese), very delicious, a little salty, the lemon water with cucumber very pleasant and the staff very good.
