Baked on the River reviews
17 You can't possibly have a bad experience here. Amazing chef provides diverse menu and that is not even including the pastries OMG!
Plus the patio venue surrounded by nature is beautiful. Must try!
Absolutely the best French toast I’ve ever had. Definitely the thing to get here! The staff is lovely as well
Great food, sweet servers, and a charming little garden to sit in! Dog friendly too! So love how many plant based options they had, and one was both healthy and delicious, my favorite combination! Everyone at the table loved their food!
Go for the delicious food and baked goods. It’s like eating in the home of a Swedish chef. Lots of natural ingredients. Healthy options abound.
I love the scones. The little round cakes. The cookies the cheese cake …hahaha.
Lovely salad and fish and frittata and pizza.
Lots of coffees.
The garden is so relaxing. Often sitting among the vegetables that are used in the fare. And Helena’s breads!
Between the international and local patrons there is always someone lovely and interesting. The staff is genial and sweet and d attentive.
This is the real real…it’s not fast food so go and relax. Baked is the essence of community and culture that makes Guerneville so extraordinary.
So nice…really! The low key atmosphere and the beautiful garden are lovely, but it’s the food and the service that really makes you come back again and again. Light Scandinavian inspired cuisine that is meticulously prepared. Chad is awesome, his happy energy is infectious.
This sweet, little Swedish restaurant and bakery knocked it out of the park. The pastries, cookies, and meals were all delicious. Four of us were staying in the area and lucked upon this place. We tried the cinnamon rolls, gluten free almond cookies, the lemon cardamum tort and the apple cardamum tort -all excellent. The coffee drinks were great. My aunt and I shared the Swedish meatball dish and the dill shrimp sandwich, both were absolutely delicious. The two others got the salmon cream cheese sandwich and the French toast. Everyone enjoyed their meals. A friendly Swedish gal owns and operates the restaurant and clearly sets high standards. Plus, the garden area was very inviting and cool. We were there on a Sunday and a friendly, colorful fellow was playing enjoyable music. All in all, a good vibe and great food.
Waitstaff were great and food was really, really good. Fresh ingredients. Very accommodating with us and our Dog
Love love love!
The garden seating was beautiful. It was pretty warm out, but the tables had umbrellas. The service was amazing. The food was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be going back.
Very cute place offers a gorgeous garden with lots of vegetables. Live music and home made food and pastries. Friendly service as well. Fresh ingredients taste really good enjoy the jazz live music as beck ground. Very
What a cute hidden gem in Guerneville! We love the local and homegrown atmosphere. Their outdoor garden is truly something special and a great place to enjoy their DELICIOUS food.
The waiting time was long 20+ (minutes) to get the meal. The back patio feel like a messy place. Sorry but I won’t recommended.
Cute little spot, we've drivin by many times and today we were able to stop and glad we did!
Amazing pastries, cookies and savory items. Fresh, unique flavor profiles and everything is very light and consistently delicious. I can't wait to go back and see what's fresh today. Delicious chicken and duck eggs and fine local coffee. I haven't eaten their prepared meals or breakfast items, but I expect they are as unbelievably good as the pastries and cookies.
This is our second time eating here, the first time was even worse than the second but I wanted to be fair before leaving a review in case we caught them on a bad day. Very very slow service. We decided to have breakfast here on our way to the coast but after being seated in their garden area (which was actually very pretty and seemed like it'd be a nice area to eat) we were told that they were out of some of the things we ordered after. We are given this news 10 minutes after we ordered. Why would you wait 10 minutes to tell us that? A good server should know at the time of taking the order what's available and what's not. Our coffees came out they were kind of weak, and tasted very watered down. When our food finally came 45 minutes later 2 of the dishes were cold. Not even luke warm. You could tell they were cooked first and the chef let them get cold while preparing our other items. I had the French toast which was not very good putting it politely. You could tell the bread used was old/borderline stale. I'm guessing it was just leftover bread they saved from previous dinner services. It was very dry for French toast, and was served cold. But we were very hungry and due to the already long wait decided to just go with it. My wife ordered the breakfast hash and it was brought out to the table 15 minutes after the rest of our order was. When I asked what the hold up was on her food the server made a rude comment to the effect of this is what it's always like here during the summer and that they have too many take out orders. The problem with that is we were the FIRST guests seated in the restaurant that morning, and only one other group came during our time there. My wife and I owned a restaurant in North Beach, SF for 20 years and one thing I know for an absolute fact is that you always put your dine-in customers at the top of your priorities. When I asked for cold items to be warmed up I was told that would be another 10 to 15 minutes as they now had even more orders (first thing in the morning in a nearly empty restaurant mind you). At that point we were fed up, I paid the bill and asked to speak to the owner. They never showed so we left. I'd avoid this place in the future, it's not worth the wait. Especially when restaurants like Pat's and Northwood can get you in and out in half the time with better food and better service!
Chaotic/slow but friendly service, and the food was fine but not great. Maybe we were here on an off day but the server couldn’t get any of our order right and kept coming back to tell us they didn’t have what we’d ordered. And when food finally came out (1 hour for eggs and bacon!), it was fine but not great. Lovely garden. Worth it for coffee in the garden but there’s better food (and service) in Guerneville.
Food was delicious. Lobster chowder and peach pulled pork sandwich were good, as was bread pudding. Staff was shorthanded the day we visited, so it was a little crazy getting a table, but once we sat down it was fine.
We went there on a Sunday morning. Luckily it was not too busy. We got an outdoor seating in the garden. It’s very beautiful. The food is more like a home-cooked style and they have a lot of vegetarian options. The owner is very attentive, and we had a great time there. Would definitely love to go back again. They only have like five parking spots so I’m not quite sure if that will be a problem when it is busy. The cheesecake is great too.
