Bakesale Betty reviews
16The food here is so bleh and the service is rude. Definitely did not live up to the good reviews I’ve heard online. Would not recommend
I always see a line at the place and wanted to check it out. I got the chicken sandwich and the bread pudding. I would not recommend if you are looking for flavorful food. The chicken sandwich has a lot of slaw in it and is the most tasteless chicken I have had in a while. The bread pudding wasn't tasty. The caramel drizzle was tasty. Maybe they added so much caramel to compensate for the taste. I should have read the reviews before going.
Salad was old with mold, terrible service
Wouldn't step their ever again!
Got such stomach pain. This place should be under health services investigation
Largely overrated! The sandwich is no more than meh… and the cookies are nothing special. The service is just basic at best. The hype is unexplainable, and the line is not worth it.
Chicken sandwich is fine, way overhyped. Coleslaw with huge pieces of cabbage, not-that-crispy chicken, okay bun, not particularly flavorful. Reminds me of a chicken sandwich you’d get at a trendy brewery. People who say this is the best in town are overly nostalgic and not to be trusted with food takes. Baked goods are great though.
I tried this place about a decade ago for their sandwich and I havent looked back. But I decided to write a review so people like yourself or my dang company would stop getting these. The sandwich is possibly the most bland and mediocre one I can find in a restaurant. No flavor, chicken isn’t crispy, the bread is subpar. Don’t line up expecting some delicious sandwich, but their desserts are good.
The chicken sandwich is good but overrated. It has no sauce and lacks seasoning. The slaw is plentiful but also lacks flavor.
For the high price point of $15 I can find a tastier chicken sandwich nearby.
Friendly and fast service. But today, the food was disappointing. The slow you can tell has been refrigerated for a couple of days, the cabbage look fridge burn. It also had that bitter flavor. Wont be able to eat the salad which is what i like.
Not the worst chicken sandwich I’ve tried, but definitely not the best. Entirely too much slaw in it and a ginormous piece of unseasoned chicken breast is left once the breading eventually slides off the meat. Disappointed after seeing such amazing reviews on Google and subsequently struggling to find parking on this very busy street. The choc chip shortbread cookie was very good, however. Great and friendly service too!
Great service but my girl and I both found hair in the slaw today. The hair looked unlike any of our own hair. Hope it goes back to how it used to be.
Is it edible? With a glass of water and hot sauce. Dry chicken breast. Unseasoned. “slaw” is just lettuce. If you like fried chicken, you won’t like this.
Delicious chicken sandwiches that are better than that other one that serves chicken fillets! Recommend order slaw on the side unless you plan to inhale it on the spot. Ginger cookies are also delicious.
Their buttermilk pie is SO GOOD. In fact, all their pies are delicious, I love that the pastry is simultaneously flaky/crisp/buttery and compliments the filling perfectly.
Got here right before they opened on a Sunday and they were super fast. Light yet filling chicken sando and a very solid fried tofu sando as well. They didn't have signs out in front for the tofu (only the chicken), so I would ask if they have it or call ahead if you want one of those. If you are looking for one of those food-coma-inducing spicy chicken sandwiches that's trending nowadays, don't bother coming here and make the lines shorter for me
I picked up a banana caramel bread pudding but I think it was a bit too sweet for me.
While waiting for my order to be completed, I also saw a shop staff address what I assume was a homeless person by name and offer/give her some free food and drink. That made my day.
