Beautiful place. Went two days back to back, one day on of the restrooms was open, the next day both were locked.

We went on a guided hike and it was really an incredible experience learning about local plants! I highly recommend this hiking area for people with young kids. It's a very easy hike, mostly flat. You can see very rare plants and a very unique part of the mountain!

Wonderful, knowledgeable volunteer guides. Highly recommend the Saturday wildflower walks to go off trail and learn about the pebble plains and numerous species of wildflowers and plants.

Baldwin Lake Ecological Preserve is a beautiful spot to see the many faces of California. There are beautiful trees and open meadows and fields to explore. The road like path was running with water from the snowmelt, so bring boots for muddy gravel if its wet. It was a dog friendly trail so long as you pick up dog waste and keep them on a leash! The hike was an easy to moderate meander through beautiful trees and rocky slopes with panoramic views! Totally worth it. There are restrooms at the trailhead but they were locked on Wednesday mid afternoon when I was there. Not sure if they always are or not. The trailhead has a dirt parking lot and easy road access.
