Banh Mi Express, Brentwood CA

We ate at Banh-mi for the first time today, after shopping at Trader Joe’s. We had planned on going to have a pizza. I am so happy that we decided to stop in. Thomas Tran, the owner, suggested that we give his food a try and he would have it ready after our grocery trip. We ordered the pork sandwich and a large bowl of Bun Bo Hue (a spicy, not hot, beef soup w vegetables). My wife and I shared this lunch and Thomas gave us an extra bowl for the soup dish. WOW! That was good! I can’t wait to return again. They even make their own bread for the sandwiches. The vegetables

It is such a low key location. Even the interior doesn’t really give away the food experience about to happen in your mouth.
If you like things spice, ask for their home made pepper sauce and put a little in the soup and sandwich. Your brain will go to heaven. I’m from an island off Asia, and this is the real deal here. Never settle for a burger and fries - ever! This is right here in our town.

Very small portions. I got the large poke bowl, they definitely skimp on the fish. Very disappointed.

Service and overall quality of food is okay, just very small portions for what I paid.

Great place! Walked in at 8: 21 p.m, not realizing it was closed. I was served either way. Food is delicious. Highly recommend it!

Excellent selection of sandwiches and Poke. Excellent French bread, good fast service. They open at 10 am to 8 pm. Been coming here for almost 5 years and never had any problems. A must stop if your in the area. Highly recommended.

Fresh. Simple. Consistent. I had the grilled pork sandwich, Poke, and spring rolls. Foods are amazing and come out quick. Plenty of seatings. Hard to beat a good $9 bahn mi in the Bay Area! High recommend

The poke and rice dish were fine. But the milk tea (no boba) ruined the experience. I've had a lot of boba in my day, but this was the first time I threw away the drink having only sipped it. It tasted like watery sweet milk with a strange aftertaste.: (

EXPENSIVE! Ordered a poke bowl. 2 pho soups, a bahh me sandwich and spring rolls. $80 BUCKS! The broth was super spicy. I had the shrimp pho and it was cocktail shrimp.small and tasted funny. Husband had the meatball pho and the broth was spicy as well. Poke bowl was good. Spring rolls were good but did not have noodles in them. Instead they had the Pickled veggies from the sandwich which I've never had before, I was good. But not worth $80.

Okay. I really enjoy these Bahn Mi sandwiches.

Banh mi taste ok. Called multiple times but was not able to get a hold of anyone to order in advance. Small place, has dine in tables but more a togo style. Restroom was closed.

I used to like this place when Minh owned it. I got a large poke bowl last night and it had 7 cubes of ahi in it. I assure you that if I had watch him make my bowl he wouldn’t have gotten away with that but I ordered and then came back in 10 minutes and it was already made. Very very disappointed

Always hear of that "hole in the wall restaurant". This is it! Small place but makes up for it with it's tasty food. I'm not a fan of Pho, but the one served there is tasty and delicious. The staff are great and friendly. My wife had a sandwich to go and she loved it. The portion was very generous and again delicious. Will visit again for sure

Pretty disappointed in this place, dont waste your time if you want bahn mi. Barely any meat and a bunch of veggies on the combination sandwich. When you put more veggies it overpowers it cause the veggies is season with vinegar. Smh. Asked for extra liver paste and they barely added anything. Train your workers to make an easy sandwich. If the owners are vietnamese and trained their workers like this they should be ashamed for it.

Perfect vegetarian bowl! Major delicious. Exactly what I wanted. Also wish In and Out was at different location. In and Out has ruined the parking lot! In and Out isn't even that good, go here instead!

I like it very much. Sandwichs are very good and extremely large. Enough for two people and delicious. Great poke great boba. Worth a try
