BAO Foot Spa, Santa Monica CA

Very very frustrated. BAO booking system had a flaw costing me $100. I booked an appointment for my partner and I for Valentines - I had been to Bao many times and found them amazing so wanted to share. I had gone to bed after booking and didnt see any correspondence until the next morning when I got the no show email.the system had booked an appointment for the prior night. The no show fee is full payment ($100) and they refused to do anything to help me. I contacted the manager/owner and recieved no response. This is unfair and I would hate this to happen to anyone. Be warry!

Lovely space! The lady who did my 30 minute foot massage was awesome! Intuitive. I feel like we should be getting foot massage weekly as humans. Massage our organs. Relaxing the body!

Love this place. For a $45 hour massage, it is very well done in a clean and relaxing environment. It really is a wonderful and worthwhile treat.

Absolutely wonderful, no matter what treatment I have had I always feel like a queen when I leave. Everyone is professional and friendly, and a wonderful atmosphere.

They are amazing! I got the best foot and leg massage of my life. They really know what they are doing!

Poor customer service. It used to be my favorite place, I came back today for my birthday and unfortunately did not have a good experience. The person who was doing the massage seemed to have a different technique than usual and not no my liking, she initially kept me waiting for 8-10 minutes before starting the massage, kept massaging the sides of the foot instead of the actual foot for half an hour after which I gave up and stopped the massage half way.
The receptionist did not seem to know how to handle the situation and said that I should ask for someone who has been there for a longer time next time (!) and charged me $20 for those 20 minutes of massage that I did not enjoy. I spent 30 minutes getting there and 30 minutes getting back home, I could have spent those 1,5 hours doing something else on my birthday rather then being stuck in traffic to get a massage that I did not enjoy. I walked out a bit mad to be honest which kind of colored my mood for the day.

Great value. We were the only two people in there last week. Everyone wore masks and they were very friendly.

I came to BAO badly in need of sports massage. I had a wonderful massage and foot reflexology combo. The massage was firm, which is perfect. The foot reflexology was top notch. The prices are unbeatable, too. One of the top massages and foot rubs I've had, ever. Bravo!

This place is super shady. They had promised me one thing over the phone but to bait and switch me last minute.

I had booked this appointment via classpass and was super excited to come check out a neighborhood spa location, however, due to a family emergency I had to cancel with the spa. BUT LUCKY FOR ME, the spa person I spoke with (Lindsey) spoke with the manager or owner or whoever she spoke with and was able to KINDLY offer me a one time "reschedule" of my classpass appointment (meaning i can come back another time "for free" to use my classpass appointment). I didn't have to pay a last minute cancellation fee thanks to Lindsey/bao foot spa on classpass as they marked me "present" on their end. They told me on the phone that I can just come back another time for my original classpass booking and I was SOO APPRECIATIVE. But then after rescheduling to today (2/13), I called in the confirm the whole classpass appointment situation, and they told me NO.

I am just annoyed and upset that they would first be kind and understanding but then change their minds afterwards? A little confused and thrown for a loop. Did not appreciate their character and would NOT RECOMMEND if you want to be surrounded with good vibes and positive energy. Just disappointment, could've said no to begin with, that's all.

Should keep your word and live up to your service-industry standards.
