Barnes Welding Supply - Citrus Heights

Went in to buy a welding mask, but couldn’t ask any questions as both employees weren’t wearing a mask. It was a bit of a joke as They had masks at the front for customers, but apparently not for the employees. I guess they’re worried more about themselves than their customers. The employees cannot be bothered to wear a simple paper mask.

Additionally, the welding mask I wanted was $100 more than what it costs online + shipping. Wish I could have shopped local, but it’s not worth $100 + my safety/health.

Not to mention, the customer service was nonexistent. No “Welcome in. ”, no “Can I help you? ”, no “Thanks for coming. ”

I took an oxy-fuel setup into this store right after I bought it from a private party. The gentlemen swapped the tanks (last cert'd 30+years ago) and answered all of my beginner's questions. One of them checked out my equipment, explained to me exactly what I had (because I'm just learning this stuff) & even gave me a book to get me started safely before I even strike the first spark. They were very honest & genuine, & I really appreciated that they didn't try to sell me things that I don't need (even though they probably could have). I'll have to visit places closer to my hometown, but I highly recommend this store to those who live and work in the Citrus Heights area (especially if you have more questions than experience). They gave me a SOLID 5 STAR EXPERIENCE. That was November 13,2020.

Everyone is super friendly and helpful and they don't pester you if you're just checking out the merch.

While I'm not new to the welding industry I am new to owning a welder. This visit has made me a customer.

These guys are the pinnacle of customer service. When our old distributor phased out, I probably called half a dozen places for an H/K tank of medical grade oxygen, and these guys were by far the easiest to work with and get set up. They don't usually carry it in stock and have to order it, but now they're going to carry it in stock just for us and our small business. Other companies have big industrial businesses to cater to and ignore our calls requesting sales, but these guys treated our small clinical practice like the big guys. By far the best customer service I've had dealing with any supply company for our small business.

I could drive 20min.into Reno to resupply, but instead I drive an hour & a half to go to Barnes. For over 7 yrs. I have been do'n business w/there power inn store. But now that they opened one in C. H. I'm closer & they gave it to my Personal salesman Byron, he's been my go to guy all this time, I'm sure glad that they have realized his true worth. Best of luck in management Byron, you've earned it. If they decide to open a store in Truckee, you better take it, I'd hate to make that drive.
