Bartels' Harley-Davidson, Marina Del Rey CA

I’ve been going to Bartel’s for years and I have to say; as of late, I’m really disappointed with the level of costumer service in the service department. Sales is top notch and I appreciated the sales department and their professionalism when they sold me a 2003 Sportster back in the day, brand new off the show room floor. LA HARLEY (before they shut down in South Gate) profiled me and denied me a sale; but Bartels was awesome back then and sold me the bike, so no complaints with the sales department. But I got to say, the service department has always been a little shady. Daniel was pretty cool at times; but since he’s left, the new service writer (Ernie) is incredibly pessimistic and down right dirty. Every time I go to get some sort of service, it’s the same story; “your bike is old, diagnosing and getting the bike fixed is going to cost an arm and a leg”, this is typical customer gouging to encourage people to buy new inventory. I love my older models and plan on keeping them. If Bartels can’t work on older models; then I’ll find a place that will. This will probably be the last time I take my bike there for any type of service. Getting tired of being treated like an idiot instead of a loyal customer.

Update as of July 5th, 2021:

So I ended up getting my bike back from the service department and it ended up being my fuel pump that went out. I appreciated Ernies’ (service writer) honesty and being more forthcoming. He even saved me some money by getting an aftermarket fuel pump. So I increased the ratings to 4 stars. I don’t mind paying the money to get my older bikes fixed and if it takes more time or money to diagnose, I have no issue with that. Very happy to get my Road King back and will bring my bikes back again should I have any issues.

After a half dozen phone conversations and reaching a "deal" I rented a trailer and drove a thousand miles to pay for and pickup a 2021 CVO TriGlide in Sunset orange. Upon arrival the dealership reneged on their word and upped their price by $5000! This trip cost me $1500 out of pocket and 5 days. This dealership is an embarrassment to Harley Davidson and should be fined for their dishonesty. Buyer beware!

Service is really bad
Call lady transfer me to service put me on hold more than 5 minutes then machine no person pick the phone. I know they working and they have at least 8 hours to pick calls. But not me, im Coustumer also

Probably one of the worst stores in all of LA. They don't give one care about their community at all and are always causing problems.

The world would be a better place if this store went out of business.

I made a call today about a specific women cap I was looking for. Gave the part number was placed on hold they confirmed they had plenty of them and in different sizes made 2 hour drive only to get there and they had none in stock. Just was told the person from wrong department answered and they didnt know what was going on Thank you for wasting my time. Horrible job the dealership is a mess nobody to really assist you either. If you are looking for something in specific DONT TRUST THEM! ITS NOT AVAILABLE

Good dealership, plenty of inventory, tons of accessories and parts to purchase on the spot. The only downside is they are the only Harley dealership closed on Sunday AND Monday. Some of us can only visit on sundays so we have to stick to L. A Harley, California Harley or HB Harley.

Well, I've left the Harley brand because of poor corporate customer appreciation. Buy Debbie the apparel manager and Hiro the sales clerk rock! What amazing customer service and just because I purchased a pair of Scorpion Motorcycle jeans. I purchased of 100k in Motorcycles and accessories in 4 years and didn't receive that type of stellar customer service.

Called spoke with someone, she put me on hold then never got back to me. System went to voice-mail and they didn't answer afterwards.

Had to drive there because they don't answer the phone after reception, and they never have a big selection of parts.

Bartells is and always been quality. From the sales team, to the fine quality products the sell. Wonderful retail section. Tons of choices.men, women
Kids. Bartells got it all.

They’ve taken care of me every step of the way with my switch to Harley from sport bikes. Love being there and hanging out and tend to forget it is a dealership and not my clubhouse. Definitely check these guys out and get that family treatment.

Aug. 27th I came to Bartel's Harley-Davidson Dealership to take a schedule motorcycle ride. I was greeted at the door and informed that I had a scheduled ride. The man took me to the manager to introduce me. Then I was introduced to the man himself, Mr. Bartel. We talked and found out that we graduated one year apart. And he was taller and better looking than me, I hate that!
Anyway, Justin took over and he got me registered. We talk in depth about what I was looking for and what motorcycle would be appropriate for me (height, weight and size of motorcycle). Justin listened and after we decided to take the Iron 883 out for a ride. Mind you I just graduated from the CMSP program. This was going to be my 1st ride. I was nervous but knew how to handle the Motorcycle.
We waited for traffic to clear and off we went on Lincoln Bl.
We rode south bound and then turned SW. I was remembering all that I learned.
The Motorcycle shifted smoothly, accelerated well and I had no problems.
Now I know what's it like to ride a Harley Davidson motorcycle. What a rush!
Thank you all at Bartel's H-D for your expertise and advice.
When I will purchase my 1st Harley-Davidson motorcycle, I will come to your dealership first.

Had an unsatisfactory experience there they think they know more than you do about your own bike they don't listen to what you tell them.

Very helpful extremely kind and they wanted to help. They actually seem like they want to HELP me. Friday night almost Closing Time Tammy and Renee went out of their way to help me out.

Never actually been heard that they have big assortment and a top-notch writers school for beginners or Advanced Riders

Answered all my questions. Mix of old and young people. Informed me of their own driving course/endorsement after asking me a couple of questions. Very nice place.

Good air conditioning in 2/3 of the store. Bad air conditioning in the used section so if you have a fat ass like me stay only for a very short amount of time.

Great cycle selection. Helpful staff. Top notch service dept. One of the top HD dealerships in Socal.

The finance contract from Harley is extortion, use a credit union to buy a Harley or be extorted for years!

Colton is amazing to talk too. Place is beautiful, big and clean. Staff is very friendly and useful. 10/10 would recommend to all of my friends.
