Basic Bar & Pizza, San Diego CA

Visited during Comic Con 2023. Delicious pizza and drink selections. Great place to split a large pizza and get drinks to share stories from the convention. Very close to the convention center. Highly recommended and would return in the future.

Pizza was good, but a bit greasy (probably because of the four cheeses on our pizza) and cut awkwardly. Service wasn’t bad, but five minutes after paying the bill we got asked to leave the restaurant because of another party’s reservation, so that SUCKED! I FELT SO EMBARRASSED TO BE ASKED TO LEAVE!: (

Pizza is great. Restaurant is LOUD. Sit outside if you want to have a conversation about the great pizza and beers.

The pizza and vibe here are unmatched. My family and I have been here twice. Highly recommend.

We come here every time we are in San Diego, hands down the best pizza. If you get a chance you have to get their mashed potatoes and bacon with white sauce. You'll be hooked

Cool place near Petco Park with some solid food. We went recently and split a Basic Salad and a Pepper Pizza. The salad was actually our favorite of the two. We loved the candied walnuts and Gorgonzola crumbles. Delicious. Pizza itself is large and a little doughy for my liking but still had decent taste. Not my favorite in San Diego but it's not bad by any means. Our server was friendly, attentive and efficient. As some other reviews have noted, it can get rather busy and loud but it depends on when you go. There are some outside tables as well as tables in the bar area. I actually prefer the tables off to the right when you walk in as it it is a little easier to have a conversation over there. Will probably go there again when we have something to do at Petco or Gallagher Square since it's so convenient.

Cool spot. Consistent pizza. Tried the gluten free crust this time. We liked it. Can't ever go wrong with mashed potatoes and bacon.

Amazing pizza, pretty cool setup, music just a tad loud. The folks working the bar were respectful to the order of customers coming up to place their orders.

We had. Fairly large group but all separate tables at the outside patio. Place was very busy due to a sell out BB game at Petco.i think they may have been understaffed
Loved the vibe, Margherita pizza was pretty good. Happy hour on beer pitchers were reasonable.

Ordered a small pizza and it was enough to share with a few friends! Drinks where nice and strong and pizza was delish!

The pizza is good and they have a selection of beers. There's a cool pop-up art gallery on some Wednesdays nights. Cool place!

Also the best pizza in San Diego. Full pies, no slices. But worth it!
