Batika India Bistro reviews
13Vegetarian platter was excellent. Naan, rice and 2 sabjis with dessert. The veg tikka masala and palak paneer were delicious. Dessert was a let down. The rice was grainy. I loved the mulligatawny soup. Hot and spicy just like we wanted it. I would highly recommend this place.
While driving through the Bay Area we decided to stop in Navato to grab some dinner.
Batika India Bistro is where we ended up and I’m glad we did.
We both ordered the chicken curry and it was phenomenal. Some of the best curry I’ve had. They brought out some garlic flan to go with the meal. Such a wonderful experience
Do not order food from this restaurant, it way to expensive for just okay food. I love Indian food and have been to several Indian restaurants and every single one gives you rice with a entree except for this one. They don't even explain on their website that entree's do not come with rice. Instead they charge you an extra $5 for a small portion of rice.
Very Tasty! Ordered the Achari Eggplant and Subzi Malabar - both were good, but the eggplant was the favorite. Nice service and a cute patio.
Always has butter chicken for buffet, my favorite. Dog friendly patio. Polite and kind servers. Food is great. Update 9/2/23: no more buffet, but do have lunch specials which fill me up and offer my favorite dishes. Still great service and atmosphere:)
The food was decent, definitely a different set up than usual. The mango lassi, though, tasted like it had a dash of pineapple juice in it. A little bit acidic. The service was.questionable but friendly. Overall, it wasn't downright terrible but my first impressions of this place are not good.
Good food. Appreciated the fact that no artificial food coloring was used to cook. Speaks well of the chef and his confidence in his cooking. Doesn't need artistry to make it look good but focusses making it taste good. Well done!
Really delicious Indian food in a town with not a ton of great dining options. Overall one of the better restaurants in Novato, really enjoy having this spot nearby.
I ordered vegetable biryani. Its like partially cooked and contained oil residue. I couldn’t eat much as the oil is in visible portion at the end of the box.
Please try to improve the dish.
The place was nice, only one person serving the food. It’s not authentic Indian food but definitely good for folks who like less spicy Indian. Tried fun biriyani and it was more or like the regular pulao with chicken. Breads are good. Naan and parathas are ok.
Has this place changed ownership? Our lunch was served on a metal tray like you see in prison movies and the food unlike prior experiences over the years was mediocre at best. The servings small and the dessert of rice pudding inedible.
Someone had used a strong chem owl to clean the kitchen which reeked of something akin to pine sol.
Use to be super Indian food in an otherwise dismal town for restaurants. But I fear it has fallen on hard times or lost their chef.
This appears to be a family run indian food restaurant. The owner's are awesome and take very good care of their customers. We all had a different chicken dinner and everyone walked out very full and very happy. I had butter chicken and my wife had Chicken Tika. Both were very good. I asked for mine indian hot and was satisfied with the flavor and spiciness. Often that can go to far but this was perfect. Thank you Batika, you were very friendly and very good.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Novato. It's a little pricey but the food is wonderful. As with most Indian restaurants, Batika has a wide range of vegetarian dishes that they can also make vegan. Service is fantastic.
