Bay Club Fremont

Little disappointed with the changes recently. They spent a bunch of time and money (and raised rates) to “renovate” the pool and locker rooms but things only got worse. The pool is identical to before, and the locker room got terrible low-flow shower heads that cause slow showers and queues during busy hours, plus they removed the hot tub.

Anyway it’s still a great gym with great staff that I enjoy using, but the value proposition is taking a hit.

Worst club ive ever been to, unfriendly staff asking u to leave, poor equipment, and they charge you with the luxury price

The club facilities are nice. Trainers are nice. But customer service is horrible. I took an EDGE training pass - they were happy to enroll. But when I tried to cancel it, I literally had to call them a zillion times. Nobody seems to know how to cancel or care to actually address the issue. Almost feels like a scam. This for a supposedly high end club. Very frustrating experience

While the club has decent amenities, particularly the lap pool and classes, there is something to be said about this club’s management continuing its greedy efforts to squeeze every nickel and dime out of each membership. Every year, close to the end of the calendar year, management undertakes what it calls a “membership review, ” which really is a euphemism for “we’re going to jack up rates” in the new year. This year alone (in May), the club undertook a membership review where it unilaterally raised rates
justifying the increase by explaining that members have begun to come back and the club somehow needs to recoup the costs it incurred during the pandemic when plenty of members suspended their memberships. I don’t know how true this is since it is very possible that the club applied for and received PPP funds. I’ve been a member of this club since 2014 and I’m glad to be cutting the cord. Although I will miss the folks I’ve gotten to know and have become friends with over the years, cutting the cord on principle makes sense to me. Whether or not one has an endless supply of cash to pay for membership, one has to decide if yearly increases and the cost of membership is worth it since this is what one can expect as a member of this club.

This is a well managed health club with huge floor space. It offers very good dancing classes, fine workout equipment and a 6-lane outdoor swimming pool which I enjoy the most. There is also free Peet's coffee before 11am everyday.

8/15/2023, The facility becomes too popular in recent months, which causes fee increase and service quality reduced. The facility is undergoing a remodeling which reduces the number of shower stalls and removes indoor hot tub. This facility becomes over crowded.

Ever since bay club took over from club sport, it's been all down hill, I don't know who is in charge but they are making the worst changes all based on saving money, we have less showers, got rid of the jacuzzi, more members, shorter hours and higher rates wow! I'm so close to leaving this dump! I would give it 0 stars if I could

Staff is friendly, facilities are clean and spacious and have all the necessary accessories. Classes are enjoyable with instructive coaches. Very nice place to also just rest in the jacuzzi! Love the swimming pool which is never too crowded for lap swim.

I can not believe the club disregards our tennis players' opinions, they turn two outdoor tennis courts to pickleball courts.we are extremely disappointed that we all pay the premium fee for playing tennis there.so I only give the club 2 starts.

Working out here is a terrible experience. The showers are always clogged and there are never any clean stalls available. The gym equipment is dirty and sweaty. No one ever cleans this place.

Great facility and very well maintained. Lots of group and individual activities and the crowd is good too. Child care is the great service they offer where you can drop your kids while you work out.

Like that they have a lot of different classes that I can take there. It is clean and staffs are friendly. However, it is pretty expensive.

Literally 10x the cost of a 24 Hour Fitness membership for not many additional amenities. And that's for access to just this one Bay Club facility. Unfortunately, this is the only gym in the Warm Springs area with a basketball court.

Already pretty expensive, it is about to increase another 15% on Jun. Pool is closed for 4 months.

Ehhh, it's alright names a bit sugar coated. Not much to offer compared to the name of it

Been a member for more than 16 years, last couple months nothing that I enjoy works, very inconvenient and they memberships price increases even when you are not attending because showers are closed, pool, sometimes sauna and or jacuzzi are closed.
Sent an email to process my cancellation and haven’t get response in 2 weeks.

Increased prices this year.
Facilities old and everything seems to be under renovation
lockers many of them dont work.bathrooms old.

I am not sure why its so costly? Look at other gyms they are atleast reasonable. Its close to my home, sadly.
