This place is nothing remotely like when it was called decathlon club. It is now all the expenses and none of the benefits once existed. That bar and TVs that gave the entrance a look and some excitement are gone. Indoor stream of water and rocks and trees around it are gone, instead there is one picture of it on the wall showing what it used to be, like customers pay to get into a museum and see how great it used to be!

Soap and shampoo are bought in bulk and look cheaper than in any average normal gym. To me the smell of shampoos identifies with insect repellents. Even under the urinals is always wet. They do not even spend money getting enough cleaning persons to take care of that. I remember a time when they cleaned and dried that place continuously.

I had the monthly plan. When I went to the office and gave them 1 month notice they asked me to fill the separation form online! They also asked me after separation was approved [as if I need their approval] they send me another email to sign. When that email arrived it literally has an "addendum" that I have agree to pay for 2 more months. Well, no, I do not agree to any addendum (literally their own phrase) when I am cancelling my plan!

When I tried to get a hold of any sales people or manager or even managers of other Bay Clubs and left messages, nobody answered for 5 days, playing the delay game. I decided to let my bank know, I had let the 1st month notice payment go through, I blocked the 2nd. It went through anyways, and I eventually recovered it. The shameless people are still sending me mails asking for money as if they are completely oblivious of their own behavior!

Go to any other gym. No other gym has anything less than Bay club has now. They do not spend any of all those membership money to reach even the level of service of an average Bay area gym. If you have not found a better gym yet, you really have not been looking around.

Loved this place. If I lived here I would totally purchase a gym membership and go here regularly.

We had to quit Bay Club Santa Clara membership where we had junior membership because of Junior membership regulations.a. New enforcement of policy for Junior Racket members requires that a parent accompanying a minor must purchase a guest pass ($30 / pass).

b. Further there are restrictions on number of passes an individual can purchase per month - the combination of these two facts means that a junior member can not use the courts (squash) ever.

Further challenges for junior members include:
a. Court bookings are restricted to a short time period. Courts are generally not available before 4pm or after 7: 30 pm - pretty much eliminating possibility of use for young players.

The club also employs "switch and bait" in its advertising:

a. The academy (small clinic) is restricted to only 2 months for non-members. This is never disclosed. So beware if you sign up. The club does not enforce such a restriction as long as you are paying "enough" to them on aggregate (I think they seek upwards of $500 / month to turn a blind eye).

b. The junior membership does NOT include Box League. This is common for other similar clubs. To play Box League, you have to pay extra $250-$350 on top of Junior membership.

Overall - not a good option.

This place is a mess. It’s still under construction. Classes are overfilled. Parking hard to find during popular hours. Equipment limited. Workout areas are not air conditioned properly. Management rarely around and is lacking customer service skills. Members feedback constantly being ignored.

Very nice facilities. Currently under construction so it going to get even better. Definitely not cheap though and probably will get more expensive with renovation. Very nice locker rooms though. Biggest complaint is its pretty small. Especially the parking lot.

Kids friendly club but the entire place stinks with old carpet odor and sweat. Yes, they are renovating the interior but I would then suggest closing the entire place down and getting over with it in a few months rather than dragging the process for years. Equipment too is stale, and the odor of this place just makes you not want to work out.

In the midst of a gut renovation. They did a good job building the temporary men's locker room.

Used to be called The Decathalon club. Two pools, one toddler splash pool, loads of courts, hot tub by pool and also in the locker rooms. Sauna, steam, large gym, squash courts, Great club with lots of amenities.

This is an updated to my previous review about the basketball courts. Laurie (VP of Operations) has really stepped up with nets, jerseys, and Basketballs. We are just waiting for the Rim to be fixed and all will be perfect. Thank you

Absolutely love this gym! Everything is kept so clean and during most times of the day, you'll basically have the place to yourself. Even when it is "busy", you'll never have to wait to use a machine or other amenities.

All the staff and trainers are friendly and helpful. I had the opportunity to work with VINCENT recently. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great trainer. VINCENT is knowledgeable, motivating and a great person to be around.

Renovating the club, but the vision is suspect. Seems very 24 Hour fitness. Not the country club I joined anymore but still charging premium dues. Many things broken or in poor repair. Renovation plans seem to solve these issues by reducing services not fixing them. I would not join today.

This is a great club. It has pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, party space, squash etc. It also had childcare options. The staff is well trained and courteous. Definitely worth the money.

There are two swimming pools and both are great. There is a kids play area as well. Almost feels like resort in the middle of city. For the gym facilities and kids club, i prefer the Bay Club in Cupertino.

I play club indoor soccer at the Bay Club and the staff is always friendly and the facilities are very nice. It's a great club in a good central location that is pretty easy to get to from just about anywhere in the south bay.

Nice club with a couple of good pools. The lap pool is salt water which is a little weird if you aren't expecting it.

This club seems a little run down compared to other bay clubs.

Facility is decent, but the gym gets hot even when it's not summer. They turn off the AC during non-peak hours, anytime that's not lunch time or after work. Their AC is weak so they need to use fans also. Considering it's $215/ month, that's really cheap of them! Make sure you smile at the front desk staff, especially guys like Josh; they're easily offended and got to be the center of attention. Nevermind you're working out 100% and are too exhausted to smile.

High end fitness club. Large array of facilities and equipment. Decent for company indoor soccer

It is a great place for the whole family to spend time and offers multiple recreational options. They organise events for kids and adults on a regular basis as well. A bit pricey for people looking only for gyms.
