Beale’s Texas BBQ reviews
18 Went to see the Jayden Secor band and had the three meat meal. I got ribs tri-tip and brisket with collard greens and cornbread. The food was absolutely so delicious. The ribs were tender falling off the bone fantastic. The brisket was tasty and very flavorful. The tri-tip had just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and the tenderness on the inside. The cornbread was sweet and savory. And the collard greens were absolutely the best I've ever had in my life. Everything was so flavorful and not overseasoned. They have a wide variety of drinks.
And the music was absolutely fantastic.
Best BBQ in CA. Potato salad wasn't dry, just perfect. The pulled pork was off the chain
Great service… but I was completely thrown off guard by how terrible the pulled pork sandwich was. Dry, flavorless, and gritty - not words you want associated with BBQ. I love Texas BBQ, but this place should really be titled “Beale’s California BBQ”. If you’re going to eat here, ask for a gallon of sauce or au jus. The cornbread was great and earned a star by itself.
For starters, this was $37 - 3 ribs, 1 piece of brisket, 2 medium sides and a peach cobbler.
The brisket wasn't bad in flavor, but on the dry side. The ribs were disappointing because the meat to fat ratio was less than adequate, and I couldn't detect any smokiness in either one. As for the sides, I got the greens, which were pretty good, but that macaroni was unforgivable. I won't even call this macaroni and cheese because there was NO CHEESE! Not the cheesy, gooey, comforting dish it is supposed to be. This was a mushy macaroni salt bomb, and after one bite it was tossed in the garbage, so bummed. Lastly, the peach cobbler was confusing, but it was ok.
The service was great, but I should have known something was off when the place was empty on a weekend afternoon. I was excited to give this place a try, but this "Texas bbq" left me disappointed and not worth the price for the quality of what you get.
Understaffed. Had to wait 45’ for refills on drinks we ordered. Asked for extras for our dinner (butter, BBQ sauce, salt n pepper) and it finally came after we had finished.
We had the St Louis ribs, brisket and bbq fries and it was ALL awesome. Service was slow. Music was nice and Location was great. Definitely will come back again.
Tasty food, absolutely worth it. BBQ fries, beef short ribs, tritip, and double baked potato pictured! Friendly and fast service!
Very good food. I ordered the ribs and they were very tender. Excellent service. Very nice atmosphere and view.
I got the Pulled pork sandwich and it was okay. My dad got the ribs but he said he didn't like it. So overall the food was a three star but the service was great.
Great place right off the harbor. Open air seating area brought in a nice breeze. The food was delicious and well cooked. They had a lovely band when we were here. Tammy Madson and the Lowdown, they made the place light up with music!
Flawless victory! All the food was outstanding, best collard greens I have had outside of Bellue's in Baton Rouge LA, the service was top notch, and a view of the harbor. What more could you want? The establishment was super clean and well spaced. Really fantastic experience, next time you thing about going out to a big chain.come here instead. Better food and people that care.
This Restaurant is perfect for date night family night friends night out! Live Music DJ! The location is 5Stars beautiful marina view with boats! Indoor and outdoor seating!
Now for the "Food and Service' PHENOMENAL!
I "Highly" recommend it!
Also if you are a "Sports Fan" plenty of big screen TVs!
I have heard so many great things about Beales for the longest time that it would for sure be great, it wasn't. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is the staff. The food was such a disappointment. I went with a friend on Saturday, July 22nd, around 4 pm. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. I ordered the short rib with potato salad and mac and cheese. I also ordered a blueberry vodka drink. My friend ordered the tri tip, shredded pork, and brisket. She also had the Mac and cheese and collard greens, cornbread for sides.
The first thing that was odd was the lack of proper silverware and cups, they only use plastic silverware and cups. Everything came out lukewarm. The short rib was so dry and tough it felt like it had been sitting out all day. The cornbread was more like cake than bread. The Mac and cheese was mushy and lacking in flavor. My drink was missing blueberry and my friends Dr. Pepper was flat. This place definitely was a bust for us. The view was nice though.
You'd never know from the unassuming front door, but there's a great BBQ spot sitting right on the waterfront. Service was slow and underwhelming, but the food was outstanding and sitting on the deck made for a very pleasant dinner experience. Will visit again.
Exceptional service! The folks at Beale's were super friendly and welcoming. Fine food and a full bar - can't go wrong! Plus, there was a party atmosphere with a hot DJ and a groovin' band. Will be back there for sure!
Have driven all the way here to eat several times when they say they're open.and they never are.
Food is actually good here, credit where its due. We've been here a few times, and liked it. But we won't be back.
We've driven here a few times the last few weeks during their open hours, as posted on Google (11 am) and they're never open.
They have big bay doors that are usually open during business hours, because its on the water (Peter's Landing if you're a local). But the doors are always closed. I assume they don't know their hours online say 11 am and they mean to open later like 1130 or 12. Anyway, several times now we've had to just go down to Pacific city for BBQ instead.
My partner wrote a review expressing this and instead of a professional response, the owner basically calls him a liar. Which is honestly consistent with the sort of service we've received even outside of this occurrence. I now see where the staff gets it.
Maybe just update your hours so customers don't expect you to be open. If its usually slow and you think it doesn't matter if you open on time, well, thats a poor business model. If you think we're just 2 people who will never eat there again who cares, that's also a bad business model. And in a very expensive location you should probably value your customers and their feedback a little more.
Good luck.
The service was great, same with the food which they serve plenty of for a decent price considering the amount you get. The owner even came out to check on us and cleared our plates. We had been before at the location a couple doors down and will be back for more. Oooh, try the pizza craft chronic amber ale, delicious!
