Bear Flag Fish Company reviews
15The facelift you did to the restaurant is amazing. I mean breathtaking, but this is when I say I wish you never did because your food suck right now. I was so disappointed I mean since when tuna pokey is brown, and SinceWhen fish burrito has barely 1 ounce of fish in it and tasteless, it’s a shame that nobody’s watching what’s going on in the kitchen I will never go back and I have been a loyal customer for a long time. Good luck.
The first time I went there I thought because they were just opening the service was 50/50 especially if you compare it with Huntigton beach one big difference in the service and the way they grill the shrimp.the Huntigton Beach One is more juicy and they peel off the shells too they don't serve it with the shelf when you ask for grilling shrimp
And not easy at this branch to get the boxes to go napkins forks knife plates and the nacho chips too you have to ask for every little thing
This is a great place to get food. You don’t have to wait long for a table. The food is excellent. I always get fish tacos, and chips and get their not too spicy sauce. Their tacos are great.i haven’t tried the other food, but it all looks good.
Always get the poke. The salmon and ahi are both great. The burritos and tacos are great too. There’s always a wait but it’s worth it.
Brown rice was very cold! Need to bigger the portion of the fish! It's already expensive!
Restroom very dirty & no papers towel!
Amazing quality fish. Great service and atmosphere! I recommend the Salmon, skip the sushi
During the 3 weeks we spent in Newport, we stopped at bearflag almost daily. Delicious food, nice people and overall, an amazing place.
Highly highly recommend.
I ate here ever time I came to this mall, and it was my favorite restaurant. I’m not sure if it’s the original owner since it’s expanded, but this time I found hair in the guacamole, and I simply asked for a new one after only a few bites, but it was quite difficult to get it replaced. Not a pleasant experience. Won’t dine here again.
Great place but very busy, so the smart money orders ahead and picks up during peak hours. Oh, and try the chips and guacamole!
Newly remodeled and expanded seating areas inside and out. Very tasteful grilled sea bass with veggies an rice. Reasonable prices too! Clean restrooms an table areas along with corner bar an outside garden-like ambiance. UPDATE: A subsequent visit saw some lacking the server gloves and was even provided a fallen hair under my fish. More customers equals more concern for maintaining standards and not reducing or lowering your overall approach to safety and health to the customer base. 3/13/23 stopped for grilled scallop plate w brown rice & grilled veggies - it was excellent, fresh, tasty, and dipping sauce was nice add. 7/14/23 - teriyaki wild salmon w roasted veggies was excellent.
8/4/23 - Red Snapper cajun style w brwn rice, seasoned veggies. Not a lot of flavor to any of it.
An unpleasant Caucasian male STAFF called “Sean or Shane “ was extremely rude and obnoxious.
He spoke with an attitude that held no hospitality. I had to request he stop yelling at me and felt like departing without placing any order. It was the most horrible service I ever had in my life.
Perhaps he would best find vocation in an occupation not catering to customers … perhaps drill Sargent?
Best spot in the area. Awesome prices on unreal seafood. Bar is great. Staff was fantastic
Super amazing restaurant. The food is so fresh and healthy and reasonably priced. Super nice atmosphere and very clean. The young people who work here are obviously proud of this place. The only qualm I have is with the “wealthy” customers that decide to bring their dogs inside. To those people…. Keep your nasty dogs outside or leave them at home. Dogs do not belong in public eateries. I don’t want your dog staring at me when I eat. I NEVER take my dog out to eat and neither should you. Have respect for other people.
Worst customer service manager ever! I arrived Monday 7-3 about 7: 45 and used the restroom, got in line to order. The line was to the door. A worker and manger were trying to keep the door locked to keep people out as it was fast approaching closing time - 8 PM. The third to last person (I was last) in line was told at 8 PM. “I’m sorry, we’re listed now. You can only order what’s in the cold case, which was very slim pickings and didn’t look appetizing at all. I stood there in disbelief. We were in line before they closed the doors, but like the story off Cinderella, once the clock strikes closing time, nobody gets to order. They couldn’t tell me that before I waited in line for 15 mins before being told, “Sorry, we’re closed”? I approached the manager and suggested as nicely as I could that they should re evaluate the way they handle customers at closing. He was defensive and argumentative and obviously only cared about getting the heck out of there. If he worked for me, I would write him up and/or fire him. Maybe he doesn’t belong in the customer service industry? I told him I wouldn’t be back after the way I was treated. He was indifferent. I suppose they have enough customers already? I went to Reunion Kitchen where I’m always treated professionally and with appreciation, and I will continue to not support Bear Flag Restaurants.
