Japanese Restaurant Benihana reviews
13Absolutely amazing, ate a Beni Hana Trio at the bar while watching the game. Bathrooms clean and service is efficient and comfortable.
I love Benihana! I been going to the resturants (San Francisco & Burlingame) since I was a kid (over 28 years). I have memorized the Japanese Happy and You Know It song from all the birthday experiences I've had. The quality of food has not changed, ever. It's pricy but you are paying for 4-6 course meal that's quality fresh! I love every course! The onion soup is so good, the ginger salad is refreshing, shrimp is amazing but my favorite dish is their fried rice! It's the best! The chief cooking in front of you makes it entertaining and funny to watch. If you don't mind spending money for great food and cooking entertainment, I suggest you go there. It's been worth it all these years I've been going!
We really missed our Benny's dining & drinks! And we were pleasantly pleased that the chefs are back to cooking at your table! Chef Erin was great! Will be back for my hot Sake & Las Vegas rolls Thank you!
It’s just like every other Benihana you’ve ever been to. Good food, big table for everyone, good service. Our chef was very careful to prepare everyone’s food to their needs (I’m vegetarian and another member of our party is gluten intolerant). All-in-all, a great visit.
I know this is a famous restaurant with good reviews.we thought it should be even better in Japan Town. Out experience was not very good. It took about 25 minutes before we got someone to attend us. It appeared the waiter was good but the management was not organized.
Fantastic food and an enjoyable show. Would I eat here every day? No. But on occasion it is a good time and a good meal.
Nestled in Japan town - SF Benihana. Teppanyaki show of knife skills and theatrical performance by the chef to entice your appetite - visually entertaining. Indulge yourself with gourmet drinks that will make you go - Oishii! - Shokuhin o arigatōgozaimashita Benihana - I left my heart in San Francisco!
Really fun place to have dinner! The food was great and so was the service. You have to make your reservations far in advance but it is worth it!
Food was great, but the service was terrible. I don't believe just because we had a large party, the tip should be included. Had to flag down the manager to get refills and for our soup and salad plates removed from the table.
Went on a busy night and we didn’t wait that long for our reservations. The staff was extremely friendly. Any questions or concerns were promptly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere made this truly enjoyable.
First of all the service was not the best and when it came yo the food it was quiet underwhelming. At our table one of the ladies sitting with us found a hair in her food and the cook instead of offering to replace it tried ti make some awkward joke of it. We thought of leaving by figured maybe it was the womans hair but after finishing dinner and leaving the restuarant my husbands stomach and mine started to hurt and now we're both really sick to our stomach. Never coming back.
Benihana makes Panda Express look more gourmet and fancier than ever, its literally the Disneytown Restaurant that sticks out as a sore thumb in Japantown showcasing how everyone looks "amused" at the basic stir-fried cooking with plain ingredients and use of oil on the hot plate to create a fire scene. Literally the worst version of Japanese Food in Japantown if not the entirety of the US like your patrons are literally not even Japanese nor Authentic enough to the cuisine, kinda feel bad for the Aokis.
As far as service, it was below par as the host did not even want to entertain our group at all for a birthday dinner, in fact they suggested they were understaffed and have us look elsewhere, extremely terrible, extreme disappointment that i probably need a lobotomy to erase the memory of the visit.
Benihana’s in San Francisco is a very small than usual restaurant you would find. With that being said, expect a disappointing walk turn down. My first time they suggested I could wait in the bar and order food but we waited 15 min and no service.
I called around mid afternoon for a reservation and barely squeezed into the last two spots open. I was seated 30 min AFTER my reservation time, so like I said expect delays due to high demand.
The food was simply amazing in which I would rate more than 3 stars but the total experience isn’t worth waiting a long time. There’s plenty of Benihana restaurants, it’s not going anywhere.
