3Did bottom paint package and found out that they are using cheap paint, not top quality paint that they are saying on their website - Petit Trinidad Pro. No apology - just some excuses. They don't have mechanic who is familiar with modern boat engines and saildrives. Finally when I brought my boat back to my marina, I realized that my whole boat had paint overspray. Terrible experience!
Hauled my 1915 commercial troller out at Berkeley Marine this past season and I can’t speak highly enough of this yard. Rubin and Cree were very pleasant, helpful and accommodating the entire time. The yard staff is also very professional and great at what they do. BMC prices seemed to be a bit lower than other Bay Area yards. They also have a very well stocked store. Will definitely be coming back here for annual maintenance.
I needed a rope handling fitting that would not be available from a hardware store but might be used in boat rigging. I explained what I needed to do. The people at Berkeley marine center had a few suggestions and provided something perfect for my purpose. They were very helpful. They have a large variety of unusual parts.
