Berkeley Public Library reviews
7It's a damn fine library! You can't wrong with a beautiful building, a wonderful collection of books, terrific staff, and no overdue fines, ever. The library had some big changes and improvements during the Covid closing. There's a new teen area on the first floor, and the adult fiction collection has been give a spacious new quarter on the second floor with one room dedicated to mysteries. It's an even better library experience. Grab your library card and check it out.
The Berkeley Public Library system consists of big budget, spacious architecture with a disproportionately poor selection of books.
Services at the library are good, but every time they reconfigure the space, which happens much too often, I feel like the selection of books diminishes.
I used to visit this branch weekly until I suffered a brain bleed in 2018 which made me 1/2 paralyzed and unable to drive. I continued to use the digital catalog and I was able to renew my library card via a phone call thanks to the amazing staff.
Central Branch Berkeley public library is full of ill-behaved patrons. There's plenty of good libraries in Alameda county, and this isn't one.
One of the best libraries I've ever been too, whether to read or to work
Me and my girls would go to the children's library section almost every day. We loved their little classes where we would read books and sing songs.
Great place to bring your friends and family members and get your videos or books and or music
