Bert's Café

Great place! A must go to if you’re around Lake Tahoe. You may have to wait but it is WORTH it! Great service and even better food. I can’t recommend it enough! We happened to meet the owner and he was a very kind and humble man running a family business for 20+ years. Add it to your itinerary because it’s a must!

Great little place. Good portion size for breakfast. The table ordered omelets, biscuits and gravy, and a club sandwich. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. We would definitely come back next time we come to Tahoe. Great staff as well. Go give Bert's a try!

Great place to stop in definitely worth the wait if you stop in while there busy. You'll trade quantity in for quality but won't regret the choice. The plates sizes leave you satisfied and not to full to enjoy whatever the day has in store for you.

The orange juice is fresh squeezed and the menu is based around home made goodness and they deliver. The biscuits are great they are all the expectations of a solid homemade biscuits while leaving the moisture in your mouth intact.

I was down in Tahoe to visit my girlfriend while she took some rest days from the PCT. We planned on eating at all the places in the 3 days we were there, but ended up only eating at Bert's for breakfast during our stay.

All of staff couldn't have been nicer! We went with the California omelet and cinnamon waffle with bananas, and it was delicious. We felt like locals at our third and final breakfast as half of the staff recognized us and our order. Thank you all for a consistently wonderful breakfast experience!

I hadn't eaten here since i found out i am allergice to gluten. Delicious gluten free bread without sacrificing size of the sandwich. (Many restaurants charge more for mini gluten free sandwiches) Server was very knowledgeable about what items had gluten and what was contaminated (fries). Thank you for saving me from pain! I enjoyed my sandwich and will be back with the family!

The people are nice; the owner seems very friendly, chatting with as much people as he can. There's coffee cups on every table and the first thing they offer you is coffee and I thought they were free, but they cost $3. Other than that, the place is very good, the food tastes great and is very filling.

The food here is super delicious. It’s a small spot that is worth the wait. Really nice staff here that are very helpful. They keep your coffee full, water full or your choice of beverage. I recommend skipping the basic IHOP or Denny’s restaurant and give some love to the locals. Parking is limited so be aware when you arrive. The staff does their best to get folks in and out.

The food and the people were all lovely. 1 star off for the grill that needs someone to stay late and clean better. I've seen worse but definitely needs some TLC. Still devoured the food so it wasnt THAT bad! Just needs a DEEP clean once in awhile. Maybe I saw it the day before they do that kind of thing idk; it was a full house on a monday morning [5 min wait for 2ppl].

I highly recommend this place. I came twice for breakfast and it was spectacular, from the service to the food. Despite being a very busy place we were attended quickly and professionally. It's a local place with excellent food. I highly recommend the Banana Peanut Butter milkshake and the French toast. Thank you for your services.

Everything was good! Not a lot of parking, and a short wait, but a wait is a usually a good sign! Big portions and food was good. Diner style options. Servers werr friendly. Son loved the strawberry crepes!

Such a great, little breakfast spot! We had the crepe eggs benedict and the huevos rancheros…both were very tasty and the portions were large. Waitresses and manager were all extremely friendly. Seemed to be a good mix of locals and tourists.

We ate at Berts Cafe because we thought the food would be excellent. Honestly, the waitress did not allow my son to order before me because she wanted us to order at the same time. She quickly showed up and I places an order I did not really want. I did not care for the coffee or the crepes that we ordered. Do not reccomend.

Whoa! From the greeting as we walked in, to the prompt, kind service, to the impeccable homemade food, this is a place we will return! First time to Tahoe and this is at the top of our list! Amazing doesn’t explain how pleasant the experience was.

Fantastic breakfast menu, pancakes were tremendous and amazing - the short stack was plenty! Homemade biscuits were awesome as well. Service was quick and friendly, it only took about 5-10 minutes for my food to be prepared!

Old school diner perfect for a cozy early breakfast on a snowy day. The hot chocolate was decadent and their specialty pancake with sausages inside is not to miss if you are into sweet and savory breakfast!

Service and food was ok, didn't wait long to be seated. Ordered the breakfast combination eggs, bacon, biscuit and gravy eggs and bacon were good, I wasn't a fan of the biscuits and gravy, had a sweet taste to the gravy, not sure if its sausage and bacon gravy but wasn't the taste and flavor I was hoping for.

I went for the eggs Benedict with Frank's sausage patty and hash browns. Hollandaise sauce, patty, and hash browns are all made in house and were all delicious. Highly recommend this cozy diner experience.

Wow! The food is so good, fresh and delicious. The service is stellar, such friendly people. It's clean and well kept. We were in South Lake Tahoe for 4 days and had breakfast here 3 of the 4 days. I wish we could take Bert's Cafe back to Colorado with us! Thank you for your wonderful restaurant!
