Best Western Orchard Inn, Turlock CA

The room was nice and clean just smelled Like smoke only complain the sheets were clean bathroom was clean the area was far from any restaurant or gas station nice thing was the highway was close by and it was not too noisy overall my experience at this hotel went good I would stay again!

I normally stay at the hamptons. Should have went there, same prive and totally better. I have stayed at this Turlock location 2 times now with a total of 3 rooms. I'm not really fond of the location at all. Too much road noise from the freeway and from golden state boulevard. Kind of a small parking lot also. The service was decent though, friendly enough too.

The pool and spa are a nice touch, I did not use use either, But some of the people that stayed with me the first time, used both and enjoyed them.

The rooms were ok, not too spacious. Both times I got a double queen room. No couch, a small table w/ 2 chairs, and a decent sized night stand between both the beds. The first stay, our room had some sort of adapter that had USB outlets and 110 connections, worked great. No other outlets worked in the room though except for in the bathroom.

My most recent stay. Apon arrival, we go to check in and the gentleman at the counter was nice enough, then we mention our emotional support animals and he tried to charge us $100 per dog. With registered ESA's you do not ever need to pay a fee and you can not be denied from anywhere because of it. Any type of housing, hotels, flights, busses, anywhere I go, my dogs are allowed. We offered to show paperwork and told him we had zero issues the first stay last week. He asked to see all the paperwork and then we tried to give him a number to call and he said never mind, we're good. Usually when I try to give the number they cool down. Everything seemed to be fine, took an hour long nap and woke up to it getting kind of dim in the room. Went to turn on the side table lamp which would click but no light would come on, just flash. So I clicked again and the opposite light flashed, clicked again both lights flashed, and again and again. So I gave up and took a look under the shade. Both bulbs were connected but laying sideways in there, same with the corner lamp next to the body length mirror. But that bulb didn't even flash. No outlets worked, my door legit wouldn't lock, the bathroom fan didn't work, the toilet barely flushed, and there were very long, thick black hairs all over both beds. I feel he definitely gave us a room that was messed up because he thought my pups would make a mess of it. They were perfect and didn't do jack squat but sleep and beg for my dang food lol

I called the front desk after finding all this out and a young lady answered, friendly, I told her my room number and all my problems, she told me to come down right away so we can get into a new room. The new room was much nicer! Hardwood flooring instead of old carpet, clean bedding, more outlets worked but not all, fan was good, way better toilet! And a newer and bigger TV actually. I was glad and felt much safer with a lockable door. Very happy she were able to accommodate us.

Now on to the free breakfast lol it's free, so I have to keep that in mind. But at $130 for my first stay and $160 for my second stay, definitely feel it should have had some more flavor at least. Just a pinch of salt and pepper would have helped! The whole spread they had:

Scrambled eggs, pork sausage, biscuits, pork sausage gravy for the biscuits or toast, bread for toast, bagels, 3 different selections for packaged muffins, yogurt, fruit cups, bananas, oranges, granola bars, 5 different cereals and 2% cow milk, instant oatmeal packs, and my favorite! The self serve and self made Belgian waffles! They have butter, jellies, peanut butter, chocolate chips, syrup and vanilla yogurt for the waffles. I almost forgot they even have tortillas to make breakfast burritos with and they even have 2 types of hot sauce and ketchup. It's an amazing selection and very very thoughtfully planned out! Just lacking some flavor is all. The cook there, or lady in charge of the breakfast station is extremely nice!

Overall, it was an ok stay. Nothing special. Another thing I almost forgot about, whoever was around me (other travelers and what have you) were being extremely loud! Like banging all night, loud random bangs.

My friends rented a room for my birthday party! The room came with uninvited guests! 3 spiders, 1, and a rather large centipede that fell out of a towel when it was unfolded. We had to leave after the centipede. They only gave up a $50 discount for our ruined evening! Also the tiles outside the hot tub are not nonslip so you risk serious injury getting out of the tub. The night staff assured us that "bugs happen, we are next to an orchard. " What with the many water bugs lingering outside be sure to bring your bug spray!

UPDATED May 2023: This is my favorite place to stay when I visit Turlock. I've stayed here quite a few times these last few years. In rooms with the common 1 bed, to the bigger suite-like rooms with 2 king beds & a couch with coffee table, also rooms with a whirlpool bathtub or actual hot tubs IN the room. Most I've been in have walk-in closets even.
My only complaint, is a lot of the rooms have out dated plugs, so if you're trying to charge something, your plug won't stay in, it quickly falls out cuz they don't fit right together. The outlet is too big or something ‍️

ORIGINAL 2020: Clean room, quiet for facing freeway (a/c might've muffled that), no complaints

Very thin walls. Can hear everything in adjacent rooms as well as doors slamming at all hours.

Middle of the road. Completely acceptable room, not a lot of frills. The staff is friendly.

Always very clean rooms very friendly and helpful people when I have to travel near there I will always stay there

A very comfortable little place. The rooms are spacious, the rooms all open to the parking lot, so no noisy enclosed hallways. Easy to get too. Nice clean dining area and the breakfast was more than sufficient and the staff…Jesarah made check-in effortless, she is super friendly and helpful. The young man at the front desk in the morning was also very friendly and accommodating as was the young lady from the kitchen that put together a wonderful breakfast and kept the food area and dining room very neat and clean and well-stocked. We rebooked the room for a 2nd night and will def come back again!

We really liked this place. It was a nice location. Kinda quiet. The rooms have been updated nicely. The problem we only had with the place was the ice machines we broken. They offered ice in the lobby but the chest was often empty. But other than they we liked the place and will stay again we come back to see our child at college.

Coffee machine and Coffee packets but no water in the room, there were three soft drink and water machines installed at each side of the Inn but none were working. I went inside the hotel's office/reception area asked the attendant for water and he had none. For courtesy they should have at least one bottle to offer. The room was clean but the mattress felt like it was in its last days. Felt a coil protruding at the edge of the bed.

Okay, so I'm just going to say I have seen Edwin Sarkissian from YouTube here. I think he might own the place idk. The customer service is top notch, the exit is easy off and on.the only thing I have a dig on, is that the seal on some of the rooms on the freeway side let a lot of noise in. There's a pretty good restaurant next door. Food is pretty good.

Nice people clean and friendly staff bit the location socks not near anything I guess it would be ok if you had a car no lyft or Uber service near by and only one pizza place delivers dominoes

Cockroaches! The wifi was not reliable. The remote did not work unless you stood right in front of the TV. The shower screams at you the entire time you are showering. The pool was dirty. And the roaches came out at night. The staff acted like this is what you should expect at a hotel. There are other hotels in the area at a comparable price. Please read the reviews.

I will definitely stay again. Although we had a small inconvenience with the TV not working the front desk accommodated us with another room that was larger at no extra charge. This gave me a chance to see the king suite in which is well worth paying a little extra for.
