Best Western Plus Orange County Airport North, Santa Ana CA

Pros: The star of the show was definitely the staff! The breakfast crew went above and beyond with their quick and friendly service they made me feel welcomed each time.

The front desk ladies were very nice as well. Housekeeping was very helpful when I interacted with them and I will always appreciate great staff.

The rooms were modern, clean, and spacious, the pool and hot tub looked inviting and clean, the area felt safe with lots of other hotels around and it was quiet which I appreciated. Lots of parking.

Cons:

The "security guard" gave me such a bad vibe! I went to my car around midnight for some privacy and to get away from my family for a few minutes and this man was walking around with a hood on, hands in his pockets, suspiciously looking back and forth and in peoples cars. I'm a younger woman sitting in my car and he's looking at me and I'm looking at him to access the situation and what to do next if he approaches me.

He kept looking back at me to where I felt unsafe to leave my car in the same spot and even unsafe to go back to my room alone. I moved my car and went to the hotel lobby and told them about the hispanic man in the hood walking around and they said "yeah that's our security guard".

I appreciate the hotel having security but he needs to have some sort of indicator that he is security because I got the creeps.

Other con was breakfast. I was looking forward to the hot breakfast as advertised and based on the photos it looked like it would be buffet style. We were given tickets and each ticket was valid for one plate per day.

I was going to Disneyland and wanted to have a good sized breakfast to save on eating at the park for a while but it was a bummer to not get to serve yourself. Otherwise good food and quick service.

There's a street taco shop a few minutes away it's a must try!

This has been my favorite place to stay in Orange County so far! We had such a pleasant week! The rooms are clean and the beds are super comfy. They provide lots of pillows and even though the sheets had a small noticeable stain or two, they kept us warm at night. The mattresses have protectors so we didn't worry about bed bugs. They have USB connections on the lamps so you don't have to worry if you forget your charging port. There is a convienience store inside the lobby for drinks and snacks as well as some alcoholic options. The even have laundry machines in case you need them. They serve breakfast every morning which Includes eggs, either ham, sausage or bacon and pancakes or waffles. They also offer fruit, oatmeal, cereal, coffee hot chocolate, tea, muffins and cinnamon rolls and bagels too! The kids were most excited about all the breakfast options as well as the decent sized sitting area. We were so satisfied with our stay here! We will definitely be back here!

Very good hotel.
Rooms are large and very quiet, beds are very comfortable. Big parking (free). Super close to highway (1 minute). And prices are good.

When my hotel across the street was canceled on me and my family. The sweet lady at the front (she goes to Provo Utah to see her dad) found us a room and got me all set up for the night. She helped draw me a map of the best ways to go to Disneyland and was very kind.

I can’t tell if that noise is the 747 landing at the airport or my bathroom ceiling van but other than that room is worth the money.

Booked 2 rooms. 1 the toilet wouldn't flush and the other we got charged a $60 cleaning fee because "they had to wash sheets" to get some juice out. Aweful management. PLUS- hardwood floors are SO loud if your not on the top floor. So be prepared to wake up because of creaky floors. It is also very UN-FAMILY FRIENDLY!
Go anywhere else but here.

Sketchy neighborhood. Really sparsely furnished rooms. Pretty bad breakfast by most standards.

The room itself was very nice and clean. The actual hotel is lovely, the location is very convenient as well.

However,
the incompetence and rude attitude of staff brings my review down to 2/5 stars.

The front desk Kirsha direly needs customer service training and anger management courses. I was shocked when she referred to her manager as “the dude” I was talking to while flailing her hands in the air calling me GIRL. David, as a manager, I would suggest you do better by leading as an example.

Nice clean room. Solo traveler. No extra charge to park. I had to leave early so I didn't get to try the complimentary breakfast, but the staff member who checked me in was sure to give me the coupon for breakfast. Good location, close to John Wayne Airport, Newport Beach, Disneyland, and the rest of it.

Has this happened to anyone else? After unpacking & settling into your room & spend a good 45mins working on a presentation for work. You come to find out that the hotel set you up with in a room where the television digital signal was so weak, you couldn't even hear it. Not one channel. This after a shower after settling in away from your laptop. After calling this in, a maintenance worker came over to fix the issue with no resolve. He asked if I wanted to switch rooms but I quickly pointed out how settled in for the evening I was and would discuss it with management in the am. This after speaking to Frank, the night manager about the television still not working after having close to 30 mins with a service man in my room. The next morning, I spoke to a Tang Huy, the am manger, who quickly told me there was the option of switching out the tv that Edgar, the maintenance worker offered me. I informed Mr Huy that I wasn't presented this offer and he quickly with very stern tone said he did and since I didn't take it, there wasn't anything he could do. To ensure BW Corporate heard about this incident, I called into the corporate offices after walking to my car. After leaving a detailed report, I was told someone would get back to me by a Jonetta from their Phoenix, AZ office. Still haven't heard anything. Almost two weeks later. Tix: CR609 - TRY LA QUINTA INN across the street, at least management there listens & resloves issues without calling their customers liars.

This Best Western location has always been affordable and has an amazing and accommodating staff. It works perfect for some of my work trips.

The whole stay was great, everything was near by & the room had a great view, the only part that was terrible was the staff, there was 2 ladies that checked us in the morning & they were both incredibly rude, one of the ladies even got into an argument with me calling me a kid & babygirl. We would stay once every month & the main guy with glasses loved us but that lady talked to me so ugly that we don’t even want to stay again.

This is a great option for an Orange County stay. Clean, comfortable, and free breakfast as well. Will return again!
