Best Western San Diego/Miramar Hotel

I love this hotel. Great customer service and the area is close to the beach and downtown or north country.

Stayed one night and the room was awesome comfy beds and pillows and the manager was super helpful and nice 10 outa 10

The place was absolutely amazing from the size and cleanliness of the room to the location of the property. Although they were very full the staff was actually amazing! I arrived late and I believe it was Luis was very helpful. I was up early and left my key in my room while getting the wonderful breakfast. Also left my wallet at the same time and the gentleman that was there early in the morning was extremely helpful. I travel a lot for work and will make this hotel a must stay. Very well done all around

Juan works the front desk daytime. He knows everything, including detailed information about promotions BW is running online. He's the technical go-to person. Breakfast is rush-hour traffic. Breakfast is huge. Towels are white and fluffy. Water is hot. Rooms are comfortable. Things look nice. So-and-So room maintenance man is the best. He helped me when I locked myself out of my room and said he'd do anything for me. I came up with something. Tell him I need a job at Best Western. I like this hotel because it's kind of hidden off the road and it's only difficult to get to if you pass your street turn off repeatedly like if you're from out of town and the insanity of San Diego just blends everything together but you also get lost in music and thinking a lot and you want to just keep cruising but San Diego eats your gas and life of your car and illegal u turns are your only hope, but other than that, fine, and, let's see, it was the least expensive hotel in the area and, overall, for what it is, it's a good hotel to keep on the list. I felt safe. All the doors face the outside; there are no inner corridors. There's ice. There's a pool. I was thrilled out of my mind because I stayed in my car a lot and out of the 6 weeks I was in La Jolla and showering for free at La Jolla Shores (thank you, La Jolla!), I only stayed in 3 hotels and stayed 5 nights overall, and of those 5 nights 2 were at Best Western, so what I really want to say is thank you, thank you, thank you! Things have to be appreciated. Much love to San Diego from Oklahoma. Thank you!

Pool was too cold. Room smelled weird. However, great customer service! Decent location. 7/10

Beware the crime is real and they will steal from this location. Just hope no one else gets broken into while staying at the best western miramar

Noisy from aircraft from the Miramar airfield. If you want your room cleaned you have to inform the front desk each day you stay.

I was rudely awoken at 9: 30am to a male dressed as an employee climbing into my window. I addressed it with the front desk, no apologies or refund or anything was given. I called up the call center to make a complaint and they said they were confused and kept putting me on hold. I’ve reached out multiple times to speak with the manager and I’m left on hold for over an hour each time and they won’t address the issue.

Bathroom had hair on the wall from previous occupant (s). Couldn't take a bath because stopper was broken. No cable tv service and reception was shotty on majority of channels. Upon attempting to take the elevator to get to breakfast, a guy with a mop bucket motioned me off and closed the door before I could get a foot in. No apologetic hand gestures or anything. For the price I expected better.

Noisy! The outside walkway flooring to the rooms is made of terracota tiles so rolling luggage, not only sounds like a freight train, you can feel it in the room. Can hear every footstep from the room above you. Nobody from our team could sleep, none of us are staying here next year. Have no idea how some people are giving this place 4 stars. Truly terrible.

Came to visit dog beach and the Del Mar fairgrounds.

Pros- Traveling with the pet and being able to leave the pet in the room is limited in terms of hotel availability. However Best Western has your back and As long as you call ahead of time to let them know you have a pooch coming in, they are happy to accommodate you with a very fair price Of $25. They also have a great continental breakfast, Laundry machines, and very nice staff. Good midpoint between downtown, beaches and Del Mar.

Cons- the bed is meh and
Rooms are basics and no thrills with that beachy must smell like all SD hotels. Pool was dirty and no net left out to clean ourselves, Jacuzzi out of service.

This is the worst hotel with the worst service I have ever seen anywhere. Very dirty and noisy, with tattered bedspreads and devastation in the room. The room is right on the highway with a terrible noise. Spiders right at the entrance to the room. The lady in the lobby said about spiders that they are everywhere in California. I'm shocked.do not go here, the savings are not worth your nerves.

Positive reviews lie to you. This is the worst hotel you can find with good photos.

We encountered a fat gray widow spider, a noisy room near the highway, and a dirty sofa.

Additionally, the staff showed unwillingness to help in any way.

They said, 'There is no motivation to do that. ' It's unbelievable and rude!

There was no option for cancellation, return, or room upgrade.

Best Western it was a good experience room were clean. Staff was pleasant, and the price was reasonable for a San Diego Motel.
The only down flaw is the location, but if you’re traveling with a car it’s not a big issue because everything is about 15 minutes away, and that in the morning we didn’t have hot water for a shower. Overall a good place to stay in San Diego.

We always stay at this hotel but before they worry about the guest the rooms was nice but now everything is damage the tv doesn’t work the carpet smell bad so lost of things are bad so they charge same price so this management need to work more for best service

Called and they said they were the best Western by the airport but they were 25 minutes away. There was nothing around. The front desk people were great but the hotel itself not so much. The curtains had spots on them, the air conditioner was hanging on one side, the pull out couch was stained and the cushions were split out the covers, the lamp shades were dirty and broken, there was a dead bug in the bathroom and some gnats. The shower was clean. There were overflowing garbage, like a dumpster worth of garbage next to the garbage. If we weren't for the fact it was late and we were stuck in San Diego we would have gone elsewhere.

Did not see expectations. Very poor customer service. Stain on carpet, hole in bed sheet, rust on curtain rod very old bathtub and old shower curtain. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
Did not like the room. And the request for another room was denied.

The pictures are deceiving. I stayed for two nights- the first room I checked into was filthy. As I was checking for bed bugs, I found a condom wrapper, a used toothbrush, and crumbs of food underneath the mattress. The sheets were also full of hair. The room smelled gross and there was no proper ventilation. I had to keep the AC system running the whole night. I asked for a different room the second day, but it was also musty. The shower tub and the bathroom sink were also clogged. To top it off, it was very loud at night, with guests and traffic keeping me awake throughout the night. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Very clean and comfy! I slept wonderfully! This will be where I stay whenever I come to Mirimar.
