Bethany Reservoir State Recreation Area reviews
16Beautiful and peaceful. Nice to see that it wasn't completely littered with garbage, a few things here and there, but overall a very beautiful place to visit.
We took our kids ranging in ages from 14-4. It's a nice place for fishing but not much else. There is almost no shade and only a little "beach" area by the boat dock. The rest of the basin is surrounded by a fairly steep rocky ledge. The nice part is that there is a wide, flat road so you can set up a shade tent while waiting for fish to bite. It's not a crowded place but I wouldn't really say it's kid friendly (which might be what you're looking for!). My son did catch a Bluegill, so that was definitely a highlight. I would recommend if you are looking for a quieter fishing spot.just bring your own shade! The sun is intense out there!
A calm place for boating, fishing & trail walking along the lake.
Less shady areas, tats only disappointing
Great walking and bike trails, has a picnic area, fishing spots etc. Can get hot over here if you're not in a good spot but still probably worth the $10 parking if you go in a group
Pretty much hidden park. Gets windy during high tide or incoming tides. Shades are limited there under tress or on site canopy. $10 to park per vehicle. Caught catfishes, bass, striper, sunfish there. Only seen one restroom near the entrance looks like one more across the water. Only draw back is that there's ton of flies in portable potty. Besides that it's a nice chill place to unwind, bbq, chill, and bbq. Scenery is beautiful too!
Loved it. Was a great place to park and fish.no long wLk. Bathrooms are available.not terribly clean but close by. Can relax in your car with pole on hand. Lovely place to relax. A bit too windy
Beautiful hidden gem! But, 1 bathroom for the WHOLE park? I think that’s ridiculous… it’s dirty most of the time to begin with! Very unsanitary. Should consider adding more restrooms & cleaning them often if you’re going to be charging a fee!
Great place for you and your family fishing riding there make shift trail and running your dogs as and letting them swim
The place has been upgraded recently and has a beautiful trail that lets you walk by the side of the reservoir. Beautiful views. Ideal for picnics as well. There are a few picnic tables around. Parking is $10. Free if you have a 4th grader in the family. Make sure to register on the CA state park website.
Great place to enjoy a picnic.but the entry fees is ridiculous for a place with no amenities except a restroom. I'd go there again if it was free entry. Makes me wonder what California government is doing with all the money they collect in all kinds of fees and taxes.
Awesome I caught a fish in like less than 5 min luckily I did because I had to go right after but definitely plan on going back for sure it's way out of the way and very windy but you can almost drive into the lake
Very good place to go fishing but the construction has very limited parking space need to get there early to find parking.
Half of the bike trail is closed Monday through Friday. 7am to 5: 30pm. Due to construction.
Still one if our favorite place to go for a chill ride or run.but the MH side is under construction till November but it's a great place nonetheless and the fishing spot is good.
Niceville Reservoir we're going early in the morning to see if I can get some bath and bluegill
Very interesting and quiet place (when there isn’t any wind) Hang out for lunch and relaxed atmosphere. Watch out for ticks however; we brought one home recently. While we didn’t bring any dogs, it’s a GOOD reason to keep them on leash.
